@@kellysuet The H400 appears to be very similar to the H310 (but larger) and h300 (but smaller) with a smaller hopper than the H300. It will likely have the same downfalls as the h310 and h300 as I have previously experienced. I hope to have a review on it within the next 6 months.

H310A is marketed as a personal juicer. J2 is marketed as a batch juicer. I own both because traveling with J2 is not feasible. Also note that H310A is significantly easier to clean.

That was my feeling too, I personally don't need 1.5L of juice for just me and my girlfriend, so even if it does take about twice as long, we might only need one or two hoppers full anyway. Compared to my 50 dollar amazon special, even the 310 would be about 2-3x faster than manually feeding a tiny chute

Yes, the ease of cleaning was glossed over here and it usually is which is weird because it’s a total game changer for me. Cleaning all slow juicers that have a strainer is very tedious and will make you not want to juice. I will gladly take longer juicing, a bit more pulp and smaller container if I don’t have to clean for 20-30min more.

I've had my Nama2 for more than a year, use it every day and love it. One serious problem, however. After juicing, the augur is incredibly difficult to separate from the juicing screen; it requires enormous effort to separate them in order to clean them. I've tried everything I can think of, especially putting the machine in reverse after running it with soapy warm water as seen in one of your videos. I am getting ready to ask for a new juicing screen and augur but I'm afraid the problem will persist as I think there is something inherently wrong with the way these two parts fit together. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem? One more problem--there is one part of the machine that wasn't well thought out: the large outside tube (extrusion) on the juice container gets full of food particles but there is no way to get in there and clean it. Any suggestions for that?

@@obiepresa First on the screen removal from the juicing screen: I recommend turning it upside down and tapping gently on the auger, it should help it come out easier. If the problem continues, please contact Nama customer support. I did see a few customers that had some issues such as this one. What I have been told is that some parts were manufactured a little out of spec and it may cause a problem such as this with some customers.

despite me talking a bit more when using the hurom, most of the extra time it took to juice was due to the smaller hopper, and that the hopper took more time to feed the items into the juicer.

I think the most interesting part of the video was definitely when you asked, how much juice do you want to make? Personally the size of the 310 seems better for my use case, as I'm supplementing juice into my diet, and not making it the keystone of it. Almost wish it would be possible to leave the lid open on the 310, and be able to feed more into it when it approaches the empty mark. If Nama came out with a compact design, I'd be more inclined to get one, but as it stands, the J2 juicer is almost overkill. Thanks for the thorough review!

I am reading in several reviews that the reason that these reviews are slanted to Nama is because 'kickbacks'. This particular review lends validity to that accusation. You cannot compare a small portable juicer to the Nama. I have watched a few of these reviews and he consistently interjects a little too much marketing pitch for my comfort.

This is not even a fair comparison. They’ve different use cases. Why don’t you compare the J2 with the H400? H400 trumps J2 handsomely at the same price point. I doubt you’d make that video since it wouldn’t fit your agenda of pushing Nama J2 on your viewers. 😂

It is on my list to compare the J2 to the H400. I do not believe the h400 will trump the J2. Why? The H400 uses the screen-less design, that has not fared well in my tests in the past. Furthermore, it has a smaller catch cup, but more importantly, has a MUCH shorter warranty, 2 years on the parts, and 10 years on the motor on the H400, the J2 has a 15 yr warranty on the ENTIRE machine. So I believe people cheat themselves out of 13 years of EXTRA warranty when they purchase the similarly priced H400. This is really not a "like for like" vertical slow-Juicer comparison.... the correct comparison to do is the Hurom H320N v the Nama J2.... you will find that the Hurom H320N is equally as good as the Nama J2.... almost identical, actually.... the Nama J2 is easier to get if you live in North, South, Central America or Canada and the H320N is easier to get in Asia + Europe....

John, will you be testing the Hurom 320N against the Nama J2? I think the 310A is their compact juicer so I think a better comparison would be the 320H which is very similar to the J2. Will you continue to use the Tribest Shine XL for travel or would you now use the 310A as you enjoy the hopper style of the J2?

The H320N is not available in the USA, and I have been told it is slated to be discontinued. I believe hurom is moving forward with their screenless design. If the 320N becomes available in the USA, I will surely make a video on it. I will NOT use the H310 for travel. I will use the Shine XL. Why? the Shine XL will save more time than the Hurom H310. That would be a good comparison video.

I would buy the Nama J2 but it is not available in Europe without paying over 700 euro with Import Fees. The alternative is the Hurom 320N which works out around €500 to €550. There is a German KZbin Channel comparing the J2 and 320N but only measure yield.

John, you always give great info on your channel. But recently you mentioned about doing a mix of long and somewhat shorter videos. Although I like your 'thoroughness', I think a compacting of some of your presentations could be a good idea. Although I'm writing this before even watching the video, the HOUR length of it is a bit daunting (time-wise) considering one's schedule during the day (and that varies from person to person, I know). I'm sure all your information is top notch, but could you consider cutting down the time here and there on the length of some of your videos? I'm sure your content would still be great. .'

If this video was shaved down (like most people on youtube) the trimmed-down version may favor one or the other juicer, and I want the "whole truth" to be told. I can’t take this seriously. You lose all credibility when reviewing juicers where you’re comparing a juicer you’re getting a kickback on and one you’re not. You are, of course, biased towards Nama. I have no idea if Huron is worth the price (hundreds below Nama so it makes sense that it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles). You do sort of tell us that you’re biased (good), but you downplay it “a small commission”, “this is an independent video”. But, why are you comparing the Huron to the Nama? Why didn’t you compare it to one that is more similar? A similar price point or size? Because you are pushing and comparing everything else to it. Fact is, Nama increased their prices to pay people like you and not lose a penny in profit. To me, that’s a dealbreaker. Even if it’s great, it’s a grift and you’re part of it…as is Joe and others. No one should be getting kickbacks…you should be recommending it because it’s the best and you’re getting no payment from the company you’re reviewing.

Exactly. I just bought the Hurom actually after watching this video. For people who don't want to juice large quantities everyday, all the negatives he mentioned are a feature. The small size makes it easy to store it away and the screenless design makes it incredibly easy to clean. Also its way cheaper so it allows people to invest in a juicer who wouldn't buy one otherwhise. We had a centrifugal juicer before and I never used it because the juicer because it sucked to clean because of the size and the screen.

It is recommended you only fill the hoppers up to the fill line for the best performance. I personally generally disregard fill lines as I want to make the most juice at once. I have not seen a negative consequence other than the lid popping up occasionally since the hopper is over-filled.

I personally compost it. Studies have shown that provided you are otherwise eating enought fruits and veggies whole for their fiber, other types of fiber such as from beans, grains and other plant foods would be more beneficial than additional veggie/fruit fiber .

1 - Blend it 1 to 1 with water, strain off the water into a jar. 2 - Then run the pulp thru the juicer, and add what comes out to the same jar. 3 - Use what’s in the jar for soups, recipes, and hydration-water in your workouts/exercise program. 4 - Compost the 2nd Gen pulp.

There are many other juicers that keep up (and even BEAT) the Nama J2 Juicer in terms of yield. Yield for sure is a SINGLE consideration that should be taken into consideration when purchasing a juicer. I personally do not recommend the Nama J1 machine. It is a manual feed machine that even I had problems with it clogging/jamming when using it the best way possible. I only recommend the Nama J2 model because all those issues were solved with the J2 design.

I am saying the Hurom juicer has a California Prop 65 Warning on the box. The Nama J2 box (or packaging) does not have any prop 65 warning, and Nama is located in California.

I do not accept any money from the companies to make my videos. However, I am an affiliate for many of the companies and get paid when someone purchases a juicer. If you don't believe this test, I encourage you to purchase both juicers yourself and do the same test. I am confident your results will be similar.
