Really cool you are willing to show off crossropes like that even though they are a competitor. I doubt they would do that. I tried sharing a link to a budget rope in their facebook group and the post was removed. Early on in their group it wasnt like that. You could share whatever. Sucks when it becomes about money. But its nice when people like you look past business and what will help people. Thank you for that. And thank you for your videos. I wish youd do you classes near me. Id totally sign up!!

This looks like a great product at a great price for me to find out if jumping rope is right for me. I appreciate that you demonstrated the other products (especially the Crossrope $$$$) in what genuinely appears to be unbiased demo. This is one of those rare occasions (actually the first) that a KZbin video introduced me to a product and I purchased it right away. I've been looking on Amazon for a week and hadn't made a decision. If this sport sticks, I will be back for that weighted rope and maybe something with some fun colors. I hope you and your business are weathering these tough times in stride!

Hey guys. I like your video. I'd like to have a little more info about what height you are and what would be the appropriate size rope. I used to skip in the gym at school as part of my exercise routine / warm up before hitting the track or cross country running. What rope would you recommend for someone who is trying to lose body fat ?
@PunkRopeNYC4 жыл бұрын
It depends on a number of factors: 1) your current level of fitness (i.e., can you jump for more than a few minutes at a time); 2) your budget; 3) the surface you're jumping on; 4) whether you have any injuries, conditions, or orthopedic issues.
@markfriend8673 жыл бұрын
Love the video. Very informative. I am hooked and want to try jumping. What size would you suggest I get? I am between 5'10" and 5'11", so I'm between a Large and Medium. I'm thinking the Large size would be best, because it would allow me to shorten it. Does that make sense?
@PunkRopeNYC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Mark! If you do go with one of our ropes, I would definitely suggest a large as then you can cut it down as needed. A medium might be a tad short.

Hello! I found your video quite helpful. I would have liked to have heard which rope would have been ideal for the surface Laurel was jumping on, since I have no mat or wooden surface. I'm just learning and want to have the ideal 'cheap' rope. Now I have learnt the rope, and best surface, what should I do since I do not have the perfect surface. Thank you.
@PunkRopeNYC4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jade. So if I understand you correctly, you're jumping on a hard surface like asphalt or concrete. Is that right? Probably the most durable inexpensive rope for a surface like that is a beaded rope. They're a little slow and a little difficult to size, but they're very consistent. The basic rope that we sell (Punk Rope classic) is fine for a hard surface, but at a certain point it will wear out like all ropes.
@Jadefull4 жыл бұрын
@@PunkRopeNYC You're welcome! Yes, asphalt surface is all I have at this time. I am enjoying this addition to my workout, and look forward to jumping but need something that will help me with duration of jump; the plastic skinny/light rope I'm using is really not going to last and I need a better one. Thanks for your advice.

Hi Tim and Shana At first, Thank you for your precise and accurate explanations. Would you please tell me which brand do you suggest for a beginner in the UK? and can I use heavy jump ropes as a beginner for weight loss?
@PunkRopeNYC5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah! Thanks for watching. We're biased but we like our brand (www.punkrope.com/shop/jump-ropes/) and we once again started shipping to the UK. For a beginner, I would suggest the Beginner's Luck. It's a bit heavier than our standard rope but that should make it easier for you to develop your rhythm and timing. At this stage of the game I wouldn't recommend a heavy rope. It will slow you down and potentially hurt your wrists. For weight loss I would combine rope jumping with strength training and of course dietary changes. The heavy rope can come later. Cheers!

Hi, I have decided to start jump roping for weight loss and also to learn some cool tricks, and I have 2 ropes to begin with. One is 200 gr (handles) + 75 gr (rope) and the other is 125 + 90. Which one do you recommend? Are there any differences?
@PunkRopeNYC4 жыл бұрын
Congrats Hadi! That's awesome that you're pursuing jump rope. How much weight are you hoping to lose? Is this for health or cosmetic reasons? I know ounces rather than grams but in general if you're jumping rope to lose weight I would pick the rope that allows you to jump for the longest period of time (so probably the lighter rope). That said, please start slowly. The most common cause of injury is doing too much too soon. Also, if you subscribe to our monthly newsletter I'll send you a free Jump Rope Basics e-manual.
@hadimeidani73544 жыл бұрын
@@PunkRopeNYC Thanks a lot for responding! I am currently 185 lbs and my goal is to get 155 eventually and it's for both health and cosmetic reasons. Though the jump rope is mainly for burning fat in my workout plan and I am gonna do some anaerobic exercises as well. That being said, one of my ropes is 7 (handles) + 2.6 (rope) and the other is 4.4 + 3.2 in ounces and I wanted to know the differences and that which is better to start with. I also like to learn some cool tricks!
@PunkRopeNYC4 жыл бұрын
@@hadimeidani7354 best of luck with achieving your goal. Again, I would pick the rope that allows you to jump for the longest period of time. Presumably that will be the lighter rope. Eventually, if your technique is good, I would suggest even a lighter rope. For example, our standard is 4 ounces in total. See if you can gradually work up to jumping for 20 minutes per workout session (with some breaks) at least a few times a week. Try to vary your steps so you avoid overuse issues. Where do you live by the way? Perhaps you can find a group of jumpers nearby. That can make the experience that much more enjoyable.
