So far I've been loving the 1004 as I also find it comparable to the BOJ one. As far as lightness goes, I feel the Skin Aqua UV super moisture gel and the Omi Verdio super UV moisture gel both in the pump bottles as lighter in texture. It's definitely a real winner though and the pump is so convenient. I really hope this is a trend that hits all sunscreens

I've recently tried Dr. Ceuracle 5 alpha control no sebum sun lotion (SPF 50, PA++++, purely mineral) and to my surprise, it doesn't leave noticeable white cast. It has light scent and it left matt finish for hours, which is a welcome gift since I'm oily as quack.

Once I found the bjore watery essence spf 50+++ I haven’t tried anymore. I really love that stuff but some of this sounds so nice too! I even got my 16 year old step daughter using the same spf as me and she loves it too! It actually doesn’t burn our skin or our eyes, it’s amazing!

I got a moisturizer from Naturium that was a pump squeeze tube similar to the skin 1004 one you used here and I liked it at first but near the halfway point it became annoying. I had to squeeze it while trying to pump and every so often it would shoot out like a rock at an end up somewhere unknown in the bathroom. I have the beauty of joseon One on the way and I’m looking forward to trying it after I’m done with the Cosrx I’m currently using. Which I will say, I have been thoroughly enjoying also. But I couldn’t turn down the beauty of Joseon one simply because everyone raves so much about it.

I used to love the rovectin one, I like its kinda matte finish, it kept the oil in my face at bay and even out my complexion for days when I was too lazy to put on makeup. But for some reasons it made my face so very itchy, not to the point of unbearable, I still continued to wear it for awhile throughout the discomfort but now I feel like it's almost not worth it 😅 I'm enjoying the BOJ and Skin1004 a lot nowadays!

To my knowledge, the new Benton, Round Lab, Skin 1004 & BoJ (+possibly other brands) sunscreens are all the same proprietary Kolmar manufacturer formula with slight tweaks in added ingredients per brand identity (rice, cica, birch juice, etc). Makes sense to me since Kolmar formulas were some of the few to get out of the Korean spf scandal unscathed!

It’s so strange, I have sensitive eyes but in general I don’t get too much burning from sunscreens? Only if I’m sweating and get the sunscreen into my eyes - and then it’s any and all sunscreens that burn… So tbh I am convinced I’m not the right person to answer this! But maybe someone else has some thoughts?

Alice, I have a question for you. When a product you are trying irritates you and your skin feels sensitized, what are the products that save you and how long does it take you to return to normal? And then you want to resume your retinoids, do you slow down or continue with your previous routine as you did before the arousal. A kiss from Chile ❤
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Жыл бұрын
That’s such a great question! I posted a barrier support routine which is pretty much what I switch to until my skin is starting to bounce back. I find I can gradually re-introduce my retinoid at that point 😃

Which Korean skincare is beautiful and a joy to use for sensitive as a baby , delicate/ dehydrated/aging/ combination acne prone skin that can't tolerate harsh ingredients like retinoids/vitc/benzoyl/salicylic for a glowy, youthful even tone blemish free plumper skin ? Please help everyone 🙏 morning and night time ?

Have you played around with low percentages of those ingredients (for example the cosrx toners?) K-Beauty has products that use either very low percentages or derivatives of those ingredients, such as caprylol salicylic acid If that’s still too harsh, I would say postbiotic ingredients might be great for your skin (good light we come in peace serum) or products that focus entirely on repair (Stratia liquid gold) Hope that helps!

Ok, so I got the potato already, because it’s too cute to not to have. Thanks 😂 But here is a real question: what do you do, when your skin barrier is so damaged, that everything burns, especially zinc in sunscreen (and the chemical sunscreen burns your eyes and combining sunscreen doesn’t work) ? Even Korean skincare is burning 😢 (I have a rosacea, sensitive skin and I ruined it). I’m already using everything basic….so lost.
@AliceintheRabbitHole
@AliceintheRabbitHole Жыл бұрын
Oof that’s a difficult situation, I have been there though! I focus HEAVILY on the ceramides to recover, and make sure there isn’t any exfoliation slipping into my routine anywhere. This usually takes about 2 weeks for me to get my skin back on track, and I still have to be cautious for another couple of weeks I do find mineral sunscreens typically work for me in that time though. Which ones are giving you issues?
@gategirl66
@gategirl66 Жыл бұрын
I have rosacea, too, and my permanent skin care routine ALWAYS involves ceramides regardless of how my skin is doing. Not just a moisturizer with ceramides *in* it, but one with ceramides as the main ingredient: CeraVe PM or Skin Renewing Night Cream, Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream, illiyoon ceramide ato concentrate cream, etc. I find if I go more than one day without it, my skin pays for it. Having Rosacea means our skin barrier is damaged, so we're ALWAYS in repair mode. And like Alice said, definitely no actives until it's in better shape. Even then, keep it mild and maybe once a week. The only exfoliates I use are mandelic or 5% lactic. After 2 years, I'm trying a 10% lactic, but only once a week. If you really want to use Vit C after your skin is in better condition, I'd start with 10% for about 6 months, then gradually introduce 15%. These are just things I've learned after dealing with it for so many years. I wish you luck!
@monikawatkins8525
@monikawatkins8525 Жыл бұрын
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I too focus mainly on ceramides. Pretty much everything ceramides 😉 No actives, I’m focusing on fixing my skin barrier but it’s not going the way I was hoping. It’s been over two months already and I still look like an eggplant. I do realize I’m gonna need a laser treatment, I’m waiting for my appointment, but now I’m just miserable. I have tested so far some 10+ sunscreens of every kind and it’s a disaster. Everything burns like hell. And something weird is happening, it feels like nothing goes into my skin…? Like it’s just sitting on top and not doing anything. My skin condition right now confuses the life out of me 🥹
