Little late on this one, but MT3 was designed by Matt3o, not MITO. CXA sounds pretty nice. I'll probably pick up a set, although I'm not crazy about the legend font on the current sets.

The reason why the CXA Keycaps sound that way is because they’re thick compared to most others being 1.8mm thick. Pretty awesome build quality.

I like the comparison but I wish you would've used a different board instead. The amount of ping heard on each test is just atrocious, it distracts from hearing the pure sound of each profile, especially the mods.

Totally agree, I forgot to edit in my remark that the q2 is a ping monster…. I’m planning a video where I try to mod it to remove the ping in the top case, which can’t really be fixed no matter how much foam is added… stay tuned!

It's funny that people think the cost of making a mold excuses charging $150 for plastic. They make that money back fast like EVERY OTHER CHEAP KEYBOARD THAT INCLUDES KEYCAPS. Every god damn plastic keyboard with plastic keycaps need molds.

I’ve been daily driving sa for a year, I love it, I think if you type with floating hands like I do, you avoid wrist strain and type better

That’s interesting! I definitely find myself resting my wrists in the table when I type, but I’ll try it out to see if it’s more comfortable with SA!

keycaps are really a matter of preference just like switches. what works for one may not necessarily work for another. i personally like the SA the best. however, because it is too wobbly, I have switched to the MT3 which is almost as tall but not wobbly at all IMO. Plus I like the scooped tops. Sadly, I have not been able to buy original SA keycaps in the color way I want. So I ended up with SA keycaps with flat tops instead of the spherical ones. Still hoping there will be an SA keycap in the color I want, will definitely go for it. Even the MT3 I have is not a very good color but I love it because of how it feels and how it sounds on my keyboard. Also hoping for more colors similar to vilebloom or hyperfuse.

I will usually put a bit of dynamat that I have left over but it is still pretty bad. I think based on what little I know of acoustics, it would have to be pretty full or pretty dense to make a difference!

Im late but, I added some masking tape to my SA spacebar 2 layers each to the walls and 2 layers at the floor inside the spacebar, and it sounds amazing.

I second what @lancel3933 says. A layer or two of tape completely changes the sound and makes it a million times better.

MDA is my favorite of these. I just can't do MT3 or SA. Both the look and feel of the higher profile keycaps are disgusting to me.

That case ping on his keychron is hilarious. Forgot how pingy the case is stock. Force break mod fixed that right up for me. Btw, I'm sure you weren't marking the MDA profile down because of the quality of the particular set you had but it did come across that way. Might want to clear that up in the description maybe.

It’s using dynamat which is a car acoustic treatment (your car probably has it from the factory in between door panels and such) made of butyl rubber!
