Should Marner not waive that full no-move clause, Treliving should not hesitate to buy out what remains of that winger's contract should the Leafs' current season also end without a conference final appearance. I believe the only chance of that happening is if the Leafs' presidency by Brendan Shanahan, who has claimed to have been adamant keeping the AM34-Marner-Nylander-Rielly-Tavares quintet together no matter what, ends early enough this offseason.

Leaf Executives are under most pressure - even with new Leaf Playoff supporters there appears little reason to have any faith in Marner and Leafs Core 4 playoff hopes and a much needed Leaf playoff run. The Leafs Executives are responsible for developing an unbalanced and poorly structured Leaf Core 4 not designed for playoff success in any way.

Ultimately Brad Treliving (GM) and Brendan Shanahan (President) are under pressure because: - last offseason was kinda meh for Treliving, with the signing, even if only for this season, of an injury-prone John Klingberg (no doubt a dud) and signings of other players (among them Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi) who'd been slow to get going to start the regular season - Shanny's about to complete his TENTH season in his current role, with my hope that should the Leafs NOT make it to a 2024 conference final, he'll be out no later than the week after the Leafs have lost their 1st- or 2nd-round playoff series (i.e. should they beat the Bruins in their 1st series, beating the winner of the Bolts-Panthers' series), with limited playoff success with only additions to what's become the AM34-Marner-Nylander-Rielly-Tavares quintet

That might be hard as Marner on other teams is likely only by his value an $8Million to $9Million player outside of Toronto. Still better as the Leafs Core 4 is a weak structure to build a playoff team around. 😀

Hayes always bashes Marner, until he feeds Mathews for goals. Spoiler alert, Mathews has scored 362 in his career and Marner assisted on 336. Guess what happens if the Leafs let Marner go? As for the Hart Trophy it’s Kucherov by a mile. He’s 40+ points ahead of the next player on the Bolts.
