Yeah if anything Spirit Tracks Link being a train conductor is worth a LOT of points. For one becoming a conductor takes specialized education akin to getting a college degree, so he's far more educated than the farmer or knight most other Links are as a stable job (or blacksmith in some cases, which is a respectable skill but I think only Link to the Past Link becomes a blacksmith after his uncle dies, Minish Cap Link likely becomes a royal knight or educated by Ezlo to become a scholar though so it's possible). Hehe people undervalue a good education, but it's definitely worth noting he's doing a lot more than most of us at his age. (Although the gimmick for that was more the moon really) Because this is the first 2 games in the series, they weren't at a point yet to really need a gimmick for link other than "the game is an open world" which was a new concept at the time, so it would interest consumers.

Maladus like Ganon is a king of demons so comparable in strength.
@LuckyNumber393 ай бұрын
Just like this red bokoblin and this gold bokoblin. I'd say Malladus is the weakest out of the major antagonists bar Onox and Veran due to: - not having any major feats (example: Majora calling down the moon) - not having some source of incredible power (example: Vaati stealing the Light Force) - not requiring a weapon specifically designed to kill him (example: Bellum needing the Phantom Sword) If *Bellum* can be considered stronger than him, there are not many more that aren't
@LoinkLoink3 ай бұрын
@@LuckyNumber39 The Lokomo Sword is literally right there. Malladus did have a source of incredible power when he took possession of ST Zelda's body, which specifically said to have been blessed by the spirits of good. Also, Malladus was effectively a spirit for most of the game, hence why he didn't really have any opportunity to show feats. Even when he was revived in the form of Zelda, he still didn't have any opportunity as he had to adjust to having a physical form. For all we know, he could be as powerful as Demise and Ganon(and considering his title as Demon King, I find that likely), but we never got to see any major feats since he was taken out before he could have fully adjusted to Zelda's body.
@LuckyNumber393 ай бұрын
@@LoinkLoink yes, the Lokomo Sword exists. And we can all agree out of the main sacred swords, this is the weakest one, being the equivalent of three tears of light; and it certainly wasn't made specifically to kill Malladus like the Phantom Sword was for Bellum. Yes, he had Zelda's body. For about 90% of his time unsealed. But he lost it, then lost his life to this Link and his bargain bin Master Sword (I say this as someone whose favorite game is Spirit Tracks). And sure, we don't have any concrete feats for him. But losing to just a boy with a sword with the power to stun his kind of evil is quite the anti-feat. And are you really going to tell me any kind of Ganondorf, even the one from ALttP, is as strong as time-conquering Demise?
@LoinkLoink3 ай бұрын
@@LuckyNumber39 I am not saying he _is_ as powerful as the two. I am saying that he very well _could be._ We never got to see Malladus use his full power, and Malladus claimed that he could end the world in his imperfect Cole-form. If Link and Zelda weren't there to stop him, he very well might have done just that. Nintendo doesn't give out the Demon King title to just any zelda villain. Malladus is supposed to be on equal footing with Ganon and Demise. He's likely the New Hyrule equivalent of the two. As for the Lokomo Sword, I also view it as the New Hyrule equivalent of the Master Sword. It lines up with a personal theory of mine about the Spirits of Good being the Goddess Hylia. It was made and wielded by the spirits specifically to defeat Malladus, and we don't get to see the full extent of what it can do-just like how we didn't get to see the full power of the Master Sword in A Link to the Past. If future zelda games bring the Lokomo Sword back, then we can start powerscaling it. As for him and Zelda's body-it was specifically mentioned by Anjean that it would take time for Malladus to adjust to Zelda's body. Time that allowed Link and Zelda to get to the point where they could stop him. If they were any later in confronting Malladus, he could have adjusted fully to the body and used her power without restraint. We didn't get to see what that would have looked like.
@galaxyknight96313 ай бұрын
@@LoinkLoink well lets start with this demise scales above ganon/ganondorf. He was easily capable of taking over hyrule and the skies despite hylia having the triforce and goddess sword she couldnt even kill him. Now thats absolutely wild considering not only the massive piwer boost you get from it but also the fact that you can make wishes on it. Even after death his power carried on in the reincarnation cycle. Malladus on the other hand was only theoretically capable of destroying new hyrule and didnt have any major feats or power boosts. What he got from zelda was no where near the level of the triforce or weaons like ghirahim and ganons trident. The lokomo sword was also just inferior to the master sword. The master sword was specifically made to be the bane of evil and has warding and sealing powers on top of spells like sword beams and medallions like the bomvos. The master sword just for reference was crafted and blessed by the goddess as well as the secret flames and sages which are all greater than that of the lokomo sword.

Wild, Oot, Winds, Twilight, Past, and the Zeldas be searching for all the Links to take them and then stop by CD-I Link! CD-I Link: Gee, it sure is boring around here... Oot Link and Wild Link: No hell no, we don't need this one! (Says so with grossed faces and walks away without backing) 😂

Spirit Tracks is my favorite LOZ game because it seems so simple and laid back compared to some of the earlier games. I like that there were basically no gimmicks outside of CIVILIZATION ADVANCED ENOUGH FOR TRAIN

He was at least absurdly strong for almost being able to nearly hold off Final Form Maladus in a sword/horn clash with *no* god power or Triforce on his side since the Triforce has been stuck at the bottom of a distant ocean for a century by the time Spirit Tracks happens. In terms of Links? Maybe weak, but for like a 12 year old engineer, *why is he so strong*?
@michaelcarlton14843 ай бұрын
Honestly, the only thing that made Spirit Tracks a rough game to get through is the tower segments where you basically had to stealth through or the whole level reset. That and some of the tedious/stressful train driving and 'minigames'. The songs were rough too.

I love Spirit Tracks, it was one of my childhood DS games. Phantom Hourglass deserves some of the criticism it gets but I will die by Spirit Tracks. The only thing I hate about this game is the flute duets.

I don't know why everyone acts as though he is younger than other Links. We don't even know his canonical age in this game. Considering he's literally finishing education to become an engineer, it's honestly more likely that he's on the older side.

In his timeline, someone without the Hero's Spirit killed Ganon. He had to fight something! Imagine being the great Hyrulian Hero of Legend, but your destined villian was already dead! Explanation: The protagonist of Wind Waker didn't meet the requirements for the Hero's Spirit. Among others, he isn't Hyrulian. He is a normal person that happens to look like and be named Link. Which is why Ganon can't come back in that timeline. He wasn't killed by THE Link, the one that posessed the Hero's Spirit. The cycle broke, and Ganon cannot resurrect. Haven't played Spirit Tracks outside a Target demo. But I assume a power vacuum was left. With Link, the Hero of Hyrule, having no Ganon to fight. Eventually the timelines will converge, and the Hero of Wind's miracle will be nullified. But for a time, in one time, Hyrule was freed from Ganon. Theory is, in the final game in the timeline, Zelda will kill Ganon, breaking the cycle. Concluding the Legend of Zelda.
