Great answer, Saad. My gut reaction was also "get your karate belt", but starting a bjj club at your karate school was a fantastic add-on.

Can always ask the bjj school if they have a drop in fee. So when you can afford, you be able to hop on the mats here and there 😊

I agree with most martial arts being effective in combat, you should train what you like most and Karate can be very effective and so is BJJ, my biggest advice is find a good school and one that spars, Karate was some problems with McDojos specially in EUA, its not was much of the style but of the school and the athlete.

When I retired from the U.S.Navy a few years ago, I decided to just let my beard grow.

I do old school karate and Im better at striking but I know Krav Maga boxing and jiujitsu and bjj and I’d say Judo is good for karatekas if you do kata especially

I personally think it is beneficial to train in the martial art that you enjoy and cross training in other martial arts can definitely help.
