I just downloaded "The Other Bennet Sister", because from the few things you mentioned about it, I think it's a book I'll enjoy. As for other versions of P&P... it's not exactly a retelling, but you might enjoy "Acting Up" (also known as "Pride & Prejudice & Jasmin Field") by Melissa Nathan. You might know it already. It's not really a retelling, but the story of a young woman who takes part in a stage production of P&P that's held for charity. It's a mix of professional and amateur actors (she's the latter), and she gets cast as Lizzie. Once rehersals begin, her life seems to start mirroring the events of the book. It's a fun read.

@@PrideFiction I just started it today and so far I'm really liking it. I haven't read too much yet, but I already want to give Mary a big hug and strangle Mrs. Bennet. I thought her ridiculous in the original story, but now she's just cruel. And she likely doesn't even realise it, parents back then weren't really aware how their words could cause damage to their children. (And some parents aren't even aware of it nowadays.) I truly hope she'll end up regaining that spark she had as a child, and which she's keeping so buried. She let some of it shine through during that eye exam and when she picked up her glasses, so I hope her future brings more of those moments. (Also, I liked the son of the oculist. Kinda hope we see more of him.)

@@3lcw385 I also like that TOBS showed what crappy sisters Jane and Lizzie were to Mary. Not to mention, Mr. Bennet's failure as a father.

I really liked The other Bennet sister. But for me t he best Mary Bennet story, is, Return to Longbourn, by Shannon Winslow!
