You want the cheapest, most efficient, AND safest way to do it? Make a new creative world with your survival seed and nuke large sections with TNT, then write down the locations of netherite that you find and go to those spots in survival. I already have a netherite pick and enough for a sword after a few hours of distracted bombing. Also a valid way to find portal rooms in a stronghold, as End portal blocks are nuke-resistant. Of course, this won't work for servers that keep their seed private, but oh well.

Bed mining: strip mine and every 8-16 blocks make a peekhole on both sides, place the beds down and explode it.( also put the bed on the level of your head at y 12.) TNT mining: Every few blocks place down TNT instead of placing TNT in every block on the ground in the stripmine.

In my experience this is how to best mine for debris For players who don’t already have an established world and are relatively new to their worlds should use beds. They’re cheap, and relatively easy to use, however it does lead to a lot of fire everywhere, which is why if you have a long term world you’ve just updated, I recommend TNT mining. It’s pretty efficient and doesn’t cause fire, however it’s VERY expensive. Also, you might find debris while digging the tunnel. But you can make a bigger boom. Cubfan135 showed a clever way of tnt mining, in which he dug out z small room, covered it in tnt, and put an end crystal in the middle. This strategy works very well, but it costs a lot of resources and I’d only use it on a server where you’re already well established. Or... The members of scicraft developed a massive machine that rips apart the nether to find ancient debris. The machine is very fast, and it can uncover the debris very quickly, but it is VERY, VERY expensive. But on a server like scicraft, go for it. In conclusion, if you’re new, beds If you have a established world, tnt If you’re rich, tnt and end crystals If you’re on scicraft, world eater

Beds are good early game when you want to get your first netherite and you dont have a good gunpowder farm
@ebentually4 жыл бұрын
sand (if not duped) can be a really scarce recourse so that would be the main cost/disadvantage of using the method. That's why i honestly prefer the beds
@tanner76224 жыл бұрын
this may be the case on java, but on bedrock there are no creeper farms and that makes beds the best, since they’re attainable
@thechto-to31514 жыл бұрын
I just use mining method using a pickaxe, it's the cheapest, you get materials out of it (gold, blackstone, gravel and quartz), and it's more controllable. I got 11 debris out of a stack of TNT and that's not enough for my goals.
@violintegral4 жыл бұрын
You're doing wrong then. I just take 3 stacks of wool and 3 stacks of planks with me and a crafting table. Then I don't have to fill my inventory with beds and only make 10-15 at a time. If you're constantly getting lit on fire, you're doing it wrong. Be as far away as possible when clicking the bed.

Awesome vids man. Started playing the game for the first time with my 5 yr old son, who has played for about a year now. Was able to catch up with your tutorials in no time (and was shocked how much he already knew from just trial and error and watching other people play the game on KZbin). He's still a little kid, so scared of the nether, so up to me to deck him out in his first netherite armor, so this vid will help a lot. Much, much appreciated.

Pix, for beds to be more time and space efficient, try digging a looking tunnel and then poking holes the deepest you can with your pick 8 blocks apart from each other, then put the beds in the holes. You take almost no damage (no damage if you use a shield). BTW, I love the series and love that you took the time to try all the methods

I was team bed, but you have convinced me that TNT works better when gunpowder is an easy resource. One tip that I have learned is to bring a bunch of empty buckets to deal with the random floating block of lava. Much faster that trying to replace the lava block.

I respect Pix for being willing to admit that bed mining is decently efficient. I personally prefer beds over tnt because of how ridiculously cheap they are, even if using them is slightly slower than tnt.
@potato32984 жыл бұрын
I’ve mined using quite a lot of end crystals and found stacks of ancient debris because of them. Removing the obsidian is a very good thing to do when mining using them. When you remove the obsidian, the explosions from the crystals improve immensely, mining a whole cube of netherrack out and revealing a lot of ancient debris in the process.
@Klycix3 жыл бұрын
i think when pewds had a suspicion that the bed method wasnt as fast as mining, he might have a point as with beds and tnt, u have to set up, either to shield urself from beds or to produce chain reaction from tnt, while the pickaxe mines really fast. i do believe that the dps from pickaxe surpasses the burst of the other methods, however the burst is safer as u wont have lava coming down ur face
@ThatOneDudeNick4 жыл бұрын
TNT has been doing me well. I don't like cleaning up the fire and plugging lava holes from beds. I just make a hallway around Y13 (for the reason you mention) then drill individual holes to the left and right, place TNT, then light one at a time. I never considered the chain reaction method. Chain reaction seems more efficient, but I kind of like my cleaner but tedious way.

@anthonybrechbill4 жыл бұрын
I think the pickaxe method is a bit underrated. For one thing, you can instamine netherack with a good pick, which means it's more efficient to just go ham and dig a rough tunnel than to dig a nice corridor. Also, you don't have to deal with lava at all. You just go around or under it. After all, the important point with any method is to expose a large area as fast as possible, with the greatest convenience.
@jxcobriley3 жыл бұрын
I just like the bed method, cause its a lot easier to get earlier on compared to TNT and end crystals
@thelanavishnuorchestra4 жыл бұрын
I'm with you on the TNT being your preferred method, but the bed method works best when you create a tunnel and poke holes into the sides of the tunnel. It makes it a lot less time consuming to blow up a large section. You still have to deal with all the fires and taking damage and getting set on fire. So, to the cost of beds, add more potions of fire resistance to the cost of beds.

Tips for the bed method - Use beds similar to TNT, by this I mean you should dig a long tunnel then place a bed and explode it. This means you can mostly ignore lava and do not have to build in the fire and lava covered area. Then move back, place bed, explode, repeat. Don't bother putting out the fire, you aren't trying to expose blocks like when mining in the overworld. Say the bed destroys 100 blocks when it explodes, that's 100 chances to see netherite. spending time putting out the 20 or so fires to see a few more won't be worth it. just place another bed and explode some more. I hope that explained it well, this way should make the experience a lot easier and much more efficient.
