Maybe because you're married to an American, but I also find your English is so much better than other people's Russian videos and because of that, it's much easier to comprehend and understand. Good examples! Surprisingly, Я взял деньги/книгу means I've borrowed something and I still keep it, while Я брал деньги/книгу means I had borrowed it nut already gave it back.

About the last phrase: Он берет на себя ответственность - present Он взял на себя ответственность - past There's no big difference, you can use both words in future and past times, but 'брать' sounds better than 'взять' in present simple time. Also 'взять' means 'has/have taken' when 'брать' - 'take' (but it doesn't give the information about the result)

"Go" and "went" in addition to "be" and "was" are not verbs with a similar meaning and different spelling; *they are different tenses!* _And you can just pronounce "Ruble" in English as you do in Russian (without the "R" rolling of course)..._

It wud be great if u i cud pls turn off the English subtitle cos it overlaps the Russian words I am learning. I'd rather focus on your examples which are distracted by the English subtitle. Pls keep your Russian examples for another 10 secs. It will help a beginner like me to digest. TQ :)

We can't use взять and брать in absolutely ALL the times we'd use to take, can we? Because in English we use to take and to get a lot of times, like: To take a bath, to take a look, it takes around 20 minutes...

"у меня"- means "i have" "мой"- means "my".
