HEY YOU THEIR WITH THAT COMMENT....WHAT?!?! what stat? survival? heres an idea, Asura chest leggings gloves and boots(8Survival), Witchdoctors mask(10 survival) Black blood pick (5 survival) and that shield (10 Survival) a total and that would be 33 Survival for pieces of gear you carry with encumbrance essentially is a free perk govern by something you'll perk regardless< also thank you Crimson Envec also last thing to boot, Potions and Tattoos add 3 each and that would be if you done it right, 39 Survival just on Equipables alone, leaving you only to perk only one attribute point to claim the potion of one ability.

@@CrimsonEnvec Survival perk3 is only needed for skin-farming. Otherwise its wasted points, even when its only coming from gear ;) I run (PvE) in a general build. So my survival has 5 points and when I farm, I put on the witchdoctor mask + BB tools. Thats why its pissing me off, that we dont have a BB cleaver. And only because the Devs forgot and are simple to lazy to add it. The Maw of Hyena has no +5surv.

Let me save y’all sixteen minutes. Star metal is the easiest to obtain for its overall value. Obsidian if you can get it, it’s harvesting quantity is higher than star metal but it’s durability is low. Black blood tools are the same as obsidian tools, they just have way higher durability. You’re welcome.

Thanks his video was getting drawn out and I’m 6 minutes in and can already tell I know this better than he does, I don’t even remember if he mentioned that each mine has a random chance of say 1-2 or 6-7, it was painful to watch him do solely two hits and not mention the rng. But ty you saved 10 minutes of my time lmao. So essentially black blood is easily the best but hardest, obsidian is good (if it can be repaired cheaply?) and star metal is the most efficient with ease of access vs durability and total gathered per pick i guess

The silver mine top floor is a real treasure trove. Iron, stone, and silver in big quantities, with very manageable levels of risk (but decent xp) from the scorpions. You can even get ichor, feral flesh, and chitin, if you harvest them. There's a handful of coal nodes, too. For tools, I usually go with the star metal pick axe, with the tool upgrade installed. Seems to do the trick.

Two corrections. First off, the survival perk for harvesting only increases the speed of harvesting, not the quantity. The differences you saw were merely the standard random variance. Second, the size of the rock has no relation to the resources harvested. Try picking several of the very small ones, then compare the yield from picking several large rocks. You will find no difference (other than the random thing).

Small rocks take less hits than big ones, its about 5 for a large rock and 3 or 4 for a small one... u get 3 hits with the survival perk on big rocks, and 2 for small ones...

Wak my friend. In my testing all the second perk does is harvest twice as fast while getting double the ammount per swing. You cant test this from comparing rock to rock. You can test this from swing to swing. Swing 100x without the perk then swing 50x with the perk. According to the description the ammount you end up with will be relatively the same. However that perk is just as important as the pick itself if you are doing mass harvesting because you are basically getting 2x the material for the time spent so just guessing roughly a 70% increase. The perk wont matter much for something such as star metal do to the lack of nodes. If im wrong then just tell me to piss off lol

You are correct. Also the size of the node is meaningless. A small rock will yield the same as a huge one.

It's not about the size of the stone ...each gathering tool has x to y where x is the low and y is the high gathering output and it's random ...you can easily test it on star metal where the node is always the same ...when you get unlucky and get too many x and compare to another node that you were lucky and had a lot of y then the difference can be huge ...also it is wort to mention that the black blood can be only repaired by the legendary repair kits and once it's broken it's done (unless fc changed it i didn't play for few months)

i use the pickaxe (starmetal later on) because of its utility.. i dont need to change tools depending on what im harvesting..

Silver mines are also a great place for iron and coal and also has a ton of hidden chests with gold

Nice tips, I haven't had a chance to put my hands on these oils yet, bad luck with scrolls ;) It looks it maybe useful when harvesting some rare materials like starmetal. About the black blood tools I think there are some drop ratios set, I got one sickle only after I got 3 or more pieces of each other tool...

You can buy the oil recipe from the guy that you learnt maproom from with 5 fragments of power. After that you just craft the oils

Felt the need to comment on this old video because recently I noticed Black Blood pick unmodded is only getting +11 while star metal is getting +14. I hope Funcom fixes this unless this change was intended to make BB pretty useless.
