I've bought the E4.5 BT. So the 4.5 but with Bluetooth support. I've placed the pair in my living room and they sound so much better compared to the 5.1 Harman Kardon speaker set that came with my receiver. I've hooked up my digital TV set to the line-in and my MacBook Air is streaming music through Bluetooth. I'm not into music production. I just love listening to music, and they exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended and nicely priced as well. 😎

Thank you very much for explanation. I prefer 4.5 and buy them. Couldn't be happier. Great and more complete sound than the smaller brother 3.5. E5 is just a beast and another category.

have 3.5 for desk, listen to music all day, awesome sound. plan to buy 4.5 for TV/ living room since the Samsung sound bar is just awful due to high bass and no high pitch, the voices are really bad.

These all have the same tweeter. I went with the 3.5 plus a Sub 8 subwoofer. I rolled off at something like 120 Hz. This asked less of the smaller 3.5” cone; it acts more like a midrange driver. Very happy with the setup, about the same price as a pair of Eris 5. But I’ll match bass with those any day.

Had the Eris 3.5's for over 2 years, and just a few days ago I upgraded to the E5's. Have to say: The bass response truly is on another level, and they do feel like a more "serious" set of monitors. However, I still think that the 3.5's are amazing: Incredible clarity, good stereo imaging and overall easier to use than the E5's (Switching them on/off with only one switch, less power consumption, less chance of constructive interference on low frequencies). In conclusion: If you just want to listen to music without much complication and you dont mind the restricted bass response, the 3.5's are an amazing choice. Having said that, the E5's are on a whole different level, and really worth the extra money and effort for more sensitive applications.

@cirolo98
@cirolo98 3 жыл бұрын
@@sav7568 True, but for the amount that the E3.5's + Sub would cost, you could go for the E5's or maybe even E7's. Only reason I see for 3.5+Sub is if you have very limited desktop space, and even then I'd try to squeeze the E5's in with the help of a stand or something like that.

I am blown away by the Eris 4.5. A beautiful upgrade from my previous Mackie CR3, which died of a sudden death. The soundstage & stereo separation is super clear & concise. The bass is deep & clean. I didn't buy the 5 because the price seemed significantly higher for only .75" bigger woofer. Totally happy with my purchase.

@harri211

@@FromTheHood I had the Mackie for about 3 or 4 years. It died for the stupidest reason - the toggle switch to designate the master speaker as left or right went bad. I could jiggle it back & forth to get it working for an hour or two, but became more of a hassle than its worth. Having them fixed would cost about as much as purchasing a new one. So just bought new Eris's. Loving them dearly!

You can use the on off switch on a surge protector to kill the power on the E5 monitors with no pops, etc. Perfectly quiet. I'm going to mount a small one under the desk to be able to turn them on and off. Not sure of their idle consumption, but there's a fair bit of heat off the back, so nice to be able to kill them with a single switch if they're not being used for a period of time.

I recently bought the 4.5 monitors for my home setup. I do television and film sound and sometimes I just work at home in stead of my studio. I was a bit sceptical of these, but after pairing them with the Eris Sub 8, I am pretty impressed. I have been using them for a week now and I am actually still adjusting to the sound quality, but I am really not unimpressed. The unreliable power grid in my country has claimed my iLoud Micro monitors and I purchased these as a backup pair while I have the others repaired. In my opinion the iLoud monitors are still better. Not a bad choice at all.

Having owned a pair of these I can say these are a starters setup. Eventually you want to upgrade to a separate amp, 2 5-inch bookshelf speaks (nonpower) and a dedicated 8-in sub. The sound is immersive.

Hey Edward, Love your videos man. Found you today. I want to use the speakers mainly for music and watching anime/movies and a hint of gaming. Would the E5 be fine for that rather than the smaller 3.5?
@EdwardSmithMusic

You are going to need to get an audio interface as well if you want to use the E5s. The E3.5s don't need an audio interface.

Hey Edward, Thank you very much for your time to make this thorough review. I'm currently using E3.5 and looking for an upgrade which one do you recommend beside E4.5 or E5? Budget is around 300 - 500 USD. Use mainly for media consumption, and gaming. Wish you all the best. Yong

What you recommend for TV/music in livingroom? Have e3.5 for my desk and is already awesome but want a second set e4.5 or e5 for tv because soundbar+subwoofer is just to much base and I am annoyed by this, want a realistic sound.

I'm sure the E5's are fabulous, but they are twice as much as the E3.5's, and the price difference is too much for me to ignore. I've had a pair of E3.5's for a couple years and just ordered another pair of them for my basement studio.

i have a question, i got the 3.5. which is better? adjusting the sounds from the speaker itself or from the audio interface? right now the main volume on may interface as max and i'm adjusting the volume from the speakers. is there any difference if i max the volume of the speakers instead then adjust the sounds from the interface?
@EdwardSmithMusic

There isn’t really a difference, and if there was, it doesn’t really matter because your speakers are still quite small. The way you doing it now is just fine 👌🏻

I am thinking of getting the smaller eris 3.5. I am not into music production, and I am not a bass head. I just want them for computer speakers. But I 've read in some review that they over emphasize the high frequencies. Is it true? And do they cause fatigue? I listen to music many hours.
