Personally, I always liked that Yuma used Utopia all the time to win his major duels. I know people complain about Yuma using Utopia all the time, but that is what an "ace monster" is, a monster you use all the time in a duel, even if it's not the best one. My personal favorite moment is in Yuma and Asteral duel against 96 when Asteral choses Utopia over the other two numbers in his graveyard, as I love Yuma explaining that maybe Utopia wasn't the best choice, but it was still the right one as Utopia is their companion and has always protected and helped them in dire situation, and would like to use him even in these situations. To me, that is one of my favorite moment in all of Yugioh, a protagonist explaining why he would always choose his ace monster in his duels.

A lot of it is probably because Numbers Hunting and some of the intent of early Onomatopoeia cards (like Gagaga Magician being able to modulate his level from 1 to 8) gave an impression that Yuma was going to have a huge toolbox but it didn't really get utilized unless he was forced to. In context it does make sense why he used Utopia so much but it does make sense that it starts to feel repetitive.

Firewall and Decode being dead last actually fits with Yusaku's pragmatic style of duelling. He has no personal attachment to either monster unlike the other protagonists so he wouldn't go out of his way to summon them every chance he got when he could summon another monster that was more suited to the task, especially with how Link Monsters worked.

While I agree he sure as hell had no attachment to any of them, I think if VRAINS was longer (like it shouldve been damn it! We needed more explanation of Link Sense and if it was just Yusaku who had it or if Flame coming back was because Takeru/Soulburner had it!!!), just before Ai died, if he explained that he made the Code Talkers and put then into the Data Storm, then he would have some attachment to Decode. Also, if he had Heatsoul and Extended, with him already using extended, he wouldve developed some type of attachment to Decode.

7. I'm not surprised VRAINS is low on the list, that's why I hate when YuGiOh seasons make almost all their duels two partners. Poor Firewall. Wish we got a fusion/combo of Decode and Firewall. 6. Dark Magician doesn't surprise me, DM's duels were LOOONNGGGG 5. Sevens Road Magician being this low doesn't surprise me because say what you want about SEVENS, they balanced out the cast so Yuga wasn't stealing everyone's spotlight. If Sevens had the traditional length of a normal YuGiOh anime around 144-148 episodes, I could see it being second place. 4. Stardust Dragon had to be used later given the whole Five/Sixth Dragons, so yeah, no surprise. Out of curiosity, how often was Junk Warrior used? 3: Flame Wingman and Neos are tied?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA oh that's hilarious and wild. And it fits so well. I wish they got a fusion together. 2: Odd Eyes makes sense, Yuya's aces were either that or variants. 1: No surprise there. I agree that Utopia was a bit overused but to be fair, Yuma always made those duels fun. Thanks to Utopia and Double or Nothing, we've had some of the craziest high attack point levels and upgrades. 300400 atk points anyone. If he used more Numbers in tandem with Utopia, which he did at times, people wouldn't be too mad. It doesn't upset me, UTOPIA'S AWESOME. For me Firewall will always be the main ace monster for Yusaku despite the banlist affecting his appearance in the anime. Even Konami originally intended for Firewall to be the ace before they had no choice but to limit and later ban it and write it out of the show, and now that it's unbanned it looks like they're slowly starting to confirm that Firewall is his ace or at least one of his ace monsters, like in Cross Duels for example.
@Zetact_2 жыл бұрын
I don't think that there's a legitimate argument that Firewall Dragon was ever the main ace outside of the argument of trying to say "but it has 2500 ATK". Like he wasn't even using it that much even before it was banned which was about halfway into season 2's airing. Decode Talker was also the one used in more of the promo material, including the very first announcement image and the 20th Anniversary Box that included alt artworks of all the main aces used Decode Talker. In the end of season 1 he even deliberately uses Firewall for nothing more than its arrows completing the O link and then immediately uses it as a Link Material to make Decode Talker.

This has been something i've been wondering for a long while. I knew Yusaku's aces would be at the bottom since he has some of the most extra deck variety among the protagonist and doesn't really stick to one gameplay strategy , and I knew Dark Magician would be on the lower end as well. Silver claw because that good boi was used in Yuyas first Summon of 3 of his extra deck monsters: Beast-Eyes, Enlightenment, and Dark rebellion) Yusaku: Cyberse Wizard (has as many retains/evolved versions as Backup Secretary, also it's the closest he uses to a Spellcaster) Yuga: Sevens Road Witch (She seems like she could be a fun ace for him to use) **Villains** Dartz- Oricalchos Shunoros (can do stuff with the Seal) Nightshroud - Card Guard (could protect other things) Z-ONE: Michion (that thing burns to hell and back) Don Thousand: Number 104: Masquerade (I feel like hed do this just to spite vector) Z-ARC: Supreme king Dragon Odd-Eyes (come on, hes Yuya,and its Odd-Eyes.) Ai: Light Dragon @Ignister. (Ai wanted to keep the Ignis and Cyberse World safe, and Light dragon's first effect does just that)

This is because whenever they summoned their ace monsters, primarily later on in the show. I was always interested because of the shear variety of what they could summon. Yuma could go into almost any utopia from just one spell, let alone bust out a new one from nowhere, and if Jaden summoned neos and 2+ neo spacians, it makes me wonder what he's going to use to get out of a situation, since so many contact fusions work in various scenarios

For Dark Magician I was shocked that he wasn’t used more then like people said Yugi had way more options with DMG the god cards, Summon Skull Buster Blader and Valkryion so that’s expected Firewall probably would have been used more but it got banned and Decode Talker wasn’t use much because of the other code talkers and cyberse dragons. Yuga: That’s due to him not being in the spotlight as much due to sevens having great characters and the duels were short. Judai: Shocked that Wingman and Neos got equal screen time because Neos was used a lot after season 2 for the contact fusions.but it also shows how much Wing Man was used for most of season one. Yusei: Not shock with Stardust being in the middle he didn’t have it or used it much until his duel with Aki and he started to use it more in the dark signers arc and for the rest of 5ds. Yuma: Not shocking I didn’t finish Zexal but I remember him summoning Utopia a lot compared to the other numbers and I think I had a problem with it but then again Utopia was special to Yuma and he had to summon it to get into its upgraded forms so it make sense. Yuya: Not supursing since Odd Eyes can be easily be summoned with pendulums and he uses it to go to its upgraded forms.

The only real gap for odd eyes pendulum was during the synchro dimension tournament. Even the duel where he used yuto's deck had odd eyes in it.

Utopia does make sense to be summoned the most. He's a Rank 4 Xyz Monster needing only two Level 4 Monsters, probably the easiest of the aces to get on the field, especially with Yuma's Level 4 -heavy deck. Might be lazy writing, but it's also just that Yuma had more opportunities to summon his guy than the others did. Odd-Eyes would be comparable, but Yuya would need both Odd-Eyes and monsters with a Pendulum Scale covering seven in his hand, a bit more specific than Utopia.

My tip before the results: It was Yusei's Stardust Dragon. Edit: I was so wrong, I forgot in the story of 5D's Yusei tries the first arc getting back the card. And then uses it like a card he doesn't bring out, at least until after the Dark Signers, unless he feels like he really needs it. He spends the whole Fortune Cup, before changing his mind when seeing Aki dueling, not bringing it out, because he wants to save until he goes up against Jack. After the Dark Signers arc his Deck becomes way more of a true Stardust-Synchron Deck.

I was gonna bring up the issue of Jaden using flame wingman then neos, but i'm glad to see you accounted for that fundamental shift in his deck. as a deck to play, Elemental Heroes have a soft spot for me since that's the deck i played in the lunch room in high school. but trying to weave the neospacians and the other E-Heroes wasn't very functional in my experience. As compared to just adding Stardust Dragon to Yusei's extra deck. plus, he got that card pretty quickly, i wanna say it was around episode 18 he got it back? less than halfway through season one, as opposed to halfway through season 2. arguably my favorite card to this day is still Elemental HERO Shining Flare Wingman. the Yubel trio is fairly high up there since i just like how the cards handle

Idea for another video is I would be interested to see if the MCs ace monsters truly were their aces. Were their any other monsters they summoned more often than their aces and were there any monsters who got the killing blow more often than their aces.

Dark Magician probably would’ve had a higher number if he had been used more in Battle City arc because it was only used once against Arkana and sat in the deck with the rest of the Rare Hunters, Joey, and Bakura. Then again Yugi’s deck was a situational strategy deck for his entire series and didn’t focus heavily on DM support and more as an anti-Blue Eyes/Beatdown Deck.

I always saw Gagaga Magician as Yuma’s secondary ace like Junk Warrior before obtaining Utopia, don’t think he had any Xzys at the time. For Yuya, I see Dark Rebellion in that role for. For Yugi, it would be Dark Magician Girl.

When he said Odd-eyes was in second with 38 summons, I started freaking out. Imagine Number 39 - Utopia qas summoned exactly 39 times. That would've been crazier than both of Judai's aces having the same amount of summons.
@jj209th62 жыл бұрын
I figured it would be either odd eyes or utopia Although I'm not 100% certain if you counted multiple summons I'm pretty sure odd-eyes would blow the rest out of the water because of the nature of the pendulum summon
@flamebugs13882 жыл бұрын
that's probably why they didn't count it as every time it was summoned

If multiple summons counted, I would imagine stardust would be up there, since it technically gets summoned several times per duel, thanks to its ability.

@@kaiprice4991 It'd probably go Odd-Eyes, Utopia (who gets brought back and forth from the grave a lot despite the lack of an ability), then Stardust, yeah

Interestingly, since Yuga has been Go Rush, he has used Sevens Road Magician twice to date, tying him up with Yusei’s Stardust. However, Sevens Road was also used by Yuna Goha in her debut duel against Yudias, meaning Go Rush has upped Seven’s Road appearences to 28. Finally Yuga used Sevens Road in a mostly offscreen duel at the end of Go Rush S1, which if that counts, increasing to 29.

Yuma's over reliance on Utopia was a plot point in the anime where they basically said that Yuma can't win a duel without Utopia and they were proven right in the very next duel (I think it was with Shark) Yuma didn't use Utopia and he lost. Also out of all the ace monster from all the protagonists Utopia probably had the most upgrades with Neos in close second so it makes sense that Yuma would summon Utopia a lot.

I do believe that Junk Warrior and Dark Magician Girl should count in this list. Dark Magician Girl was obviously Yugi's most iconic monster alongside Dark Magician and she had a great debut in Battle City and remained as a staple of his ever since. You just can't have Dark Magician without Dark Magician Girl. And for Junk Warrior I think it's pretty safe to say that before Yusei got Stardust, Junk Warrior was his ace monster and as you counted Flame Wingman I feel like it's only fair that Junk Warrior be there as well. Keep in mind that Flame Wingman was used as Judai's ace before Neos and you could make an argument that it was due to weird writing choices for GX or lack of direction. However you can tell Flame Wingman was Judai's ace for the first season and you could even make an argument for Shining Flare Wingman being his True Ace that was there before Neos. Similarly, Junk Warrior was always there when Yusei needed him most. It even dealt the final blow in the Final Duel against Jack Atlas which is a great sendoff for the series and they chose Junk Warrior to be the final monster summoned in the series instead of Stardust Dragon. That alone tells me that Junk Warrior was an ace monster and thus should be part of the list. Who knows? Maybe it has been summoned more times than Stardust.

Answering the question at the ending of the video: i prefer more variety. That's also why i don't like Yuya. he is supposed to be an entertainer, his duels are supposed to be surprising, but by the end of the series i was like "oh look, he's gonna summon odd-eyes yet again."

My guess would have been yusie Yuma Jaden yuya Yugi yusaku yuga Reasons for that is yusei summons stardust a lot mutiple times and Yuma does about the same with the utopia forms jumping in and out of the evolution Jaden with neos is used for those contact fusions bur he came later in the series having less time. Yuya uses pendulum so his dragon comes out a lot but felt less than average to me. Yugi yusaku and yuga thier ace just felt like a side thing with bigger and badder monsters coming out

Solid guesses! Although I only wanted to look at "per duel" if it more than one summon could count per duel, Stardust would def be a lot higher

@@YugiohEverything oh ok. Guess that could be a good follow up video on "most summoned overall or in one dual" to see how much they use them. Stardust leaving the field and coming back happens a lot with his cool effect so that could be fun to count
@firewolf950tfwgaming72 жыл бұрын
If this list was on the sheer number of times a monster has appeared per duel instead of just limiting it to 1, I personally think Odd-eyes would be number 1 as it has the obvious advantage of being pendulum and thus always comes back. It may also be why I never found Yuya’s duels to be very interesting as it’s always odd-eyes winning in the end or some variation. And for those who say the same thing for Utopia, Utopia winning is much more interesting to be because of it’s various forms and the Zexal Weapons that have to be played just to get Utopia the win. Plus it’s symbolic of the potential the future holds while Odd-eyes is just a random dragon that Zarc really liked.
