Yusaku makes sense. As much as people think he is some great duelist with plot protection he did get many ties that broke his streak. Yuga off the bat basically said "he isn't that good" as Roman did much better(female dualist video next please imagine tea having her never lose streak) Guess that going to duel school actually pays off.

I like Yuma and Yuga. The show portrays them as mediocre-average duelists earlier on so when it got to that point where the plot demands him to always win. They will win and feel refreshed. I see Sevens as multiple protagonists show, so it makes sense Yuga's plot armor is shared among his peer.

Yuga was probably a biproduct of Luke having a fair number of the traditional protagonist traits. Lol Nope. Judai doesn't have this. Don't let your bias get in the way of facts. Pasting explanation: That is an unfair ruling for the original series, which the source material is the manga. The title is called Yugioh meaning Game King. It is not about card games, but many games. The source material for the spinoffs is the anime, which focuses on the card game. Ignoring the true events created by Takahashi is wrong. Also, you never took into account Yami Yugi and Yugi's wins regarding who is in control from start to finish because if we include them as a single person then Yugi messes up Yami Yugi's win streak because he loses multiple times by being defeated (Imori & Koji) or intentionally losing when Yami Yugi won the game vs Kaiba/sacrificing himself to make Jonouchi win during Battle City (anime staff gave Death Meteor a new effect to make the game end in a draw). Before Duelist Kingdom arc (Chapter 60), Yami Yugi has 26 straight wins by himself in the manga starting from chapter 1 to 59. He's had 3 situations where he faced multiple people by himself (Hirutani's gang in chapt 12 after going on a 9 game streak; Delinquents in chapt 23 on a 13 W streak not including H's gang; H's gang in chapt 49 on a 22 W streak not including H ganga & Delinquents) by himself, which is won. Without those 3 games, he's won 23 straight, but including them he won 26 straight. You said 1 on 1 duels, but Yami Yugi faced a group of people by himself so his odds were lower than a 1 on 1 battle so it should be counted toward his streak. Lastly, Jonouchi lost 187 times to Yami Yugi/Yugi (it wasn't clarified who) when they prepared for Duelist Kingdom, so that tops Judai's 29 W streak or 23 since he ran during that mob duel.

If we included multi-person duels then the numbers are as follows; Yugi - 7/8 (Bakura, Gansley, Big Five, Noah, Kaiba/Marik/Joey, Kaiba, Marik, Grimo) Whether you count Grimo or not depends on if you say the duel he started with Joey at the end of Battle City counts as an interrupted duel or not since we never see the end. Rafael stops it either way after Grimo (I'm counting duels against Yugi/Atem as no results otherwise we would have to count Yugi and Atem separately) Jaden - 25 (Alien of Light, Aster, Lorenzo, Howard, Rose, T-Bone, Sarina, Alice, Bob, Franz, Orlando, Chazz, GT Duelist, Lucien, Alexis, Eisenstein, Ojin, Sartorius, Jesse, Axel, Mr. Stein, Viper, Rock Spirit, Fonda, Chazz) Yusei - 10 (Tanner, Armstrong, Trudge, Leo, Hunter, Greiger, Akiza, Jack, Grady, Sector Security) Yuma - 12 (Shark, Barian controlled students, Alito, Girag, Shadow Giant, Orbital 7, Walkers, Vector, Vector, Mach, Nistro/Alito, Ponta) If we're counting duels where someone takes over in the replacements favour, Astral breaks the streak by replacing Yuma in his duel with 96 Yuya - 10 (Sylvio, Sora, Dipper, Declan, Skip, Reed, Pierre, Aura, Gong, Sylvio) Yusaku - 7 (Varis, Ghost Gal, Prototype, Akira, Knight of Hanoi, Faust, Specter) Yuga - 8 (Roman, Gavin, Menzaburo, Mimi, Kan, Roa, Nanami, Sebastian) With a Final order of Yusaku / Yugi, Yuga, Yusei/Yuya, Yuma, Jaden The inclusion of Multi-person matches doesn't alter the result much (Yusei and Yuya get a slight increase and decrease respectively)

Great video! I like seeing the old protagonists in your videos :) I have to admit I'm suprised about Yuusaku, I expected to see him near the top. Same for Yuusei. But I guess it also depends on how the defeat/no results are distributed during the series. If the defeats are right at the beginning (as it is for Yuuma, for example), then it leaves the end open for a long series of wins. Whereas Yuusaku and Yuusei were "given" no results in the middle of the series to give them a slight "shake", cutting in half their impressive amount of wins xD. Another thing to take into consideration is the amount of duels a protagonist has played throughout his series. Yuusaku had barely any duels at the end of vrains, lowering his possibility to accumulate wins. The same goes for Yuugi who "only" duels one duel out of two or three whereas the last season has barely any duels. On the other hand, if Judai is seen duelling every episode against a one-off character, then his win rate can go up pretty quickly. So considering... these results are actually quite logical xD.
@AngryWindmill2 жыл бұрын
Judai was pretty much unstoppable since he got the power of neo space, most of his losses were part of a gimmick like higher powers were involved and without those he would've probably had a higher winstreak. Judai is a smart guy, he doesn't play just for fun, he plays Yu-Gi-Oh! Like an RPG, that's why he farms EXP against one-off duelist. Pd: I thought Yusei was at least 3rd
@stanclark88242 жыл бұрын
He is 3rd for me as well. Jaden obviously is the best, but yugi and yami are not on the list for me because they cheated almost all of the series because broken ancient magic crap hahaha
@GoldenSunAlex2 жыл бұрын
@@stanclark8824 It wasn't cheating - being able to draw the right card is a tangible, trainable skill in the anime. There was a character in GX who could draw literally any card he wanted because he had trained that skill to perfection - to the point of being able to predict what was on top of his deck with 100% accuracy.

Before watching, I feel relatively confident in eliminating Yugi/Atem, Yuya & Yusaku & Yuga based on what I know about their series. I also don't think it's Yusei because his DNFs vs Kalin, Sherry & Lawton happened far apart enough for a decent amount of episodes to elapse, but close enough to keep resetting his streak as it was starting to get going. At first glance, I want to say Jaden because he loses to Zane early on, gets a good streak going, loses to Aster, then has a _really_ good run seeing as he doesn't "not win" again until against Zane late in S3 (unless you count Supreme King in which case his streak ends literally 1 duel earlier vs Axel). If it's not him then surely it's Yuma because off the top of my head he doesn't lose or draw again after his loss to Kite early on in S2. Can't wait to see how close (or far lmao) I am 😁
@dancostello48722 жыл бұрын
Just watched the video - buzzing at nailing Jaden at #1, particularly the period his winstreak took place, and Yuma at #2, again the right period. Yuya being higher than Yusei caught me off guard, mainly because I'd completely forgotten _just_ how many early duels Yuya had when he was trying to bolster his W/L record, whereas I knew Yusei's best streak would've been before his first match with Kalin. Would love to see this done with other tropes too i.e rivals, female leads, best friends etc.
@windhelmguard52952 жыл бұрын
yea yugi has those matches he just throws, like the duels with kaiba, rebecca, and the one with joey at the port. this means yugi either doesn't get a good streak since there aren't that many cannon duels after the joey incident, OR he has a really long streak if you don't count those losses because yugi could have easily won every single one of these three duels, but didn't due to some external reason, in which case his win streak extends from his loss to pegasus in episode 2 all the way to the end of the series.

I honestly thought Yuma would be on top because he didn't lose near the end, but I honestly forgot season 2 and 3 of GX had so many one-off characters for Judai to annihilate.

The funny thing is that Luke scored 8 straight wins in a row before the duel where there's no winner announced (although probably Luke still won cuz plot armor) against Yuuga, and then scored another 9 wins in a row before losing to Yugaman. Counting the not shown duel, Luke won 18 duels in a row which scores him above Yuma but still below to Judai.

Hey! I guessed correctly that jaden/judai was number 1 on the streak list!
@rob19ny2 жыл бұрын
You guessed wrong. Lastly, Jonouchi lost 187 times to Yami Yugi/Yugi (it wasn't clarified who) when they prepared for Duelist Kingdom, so that tops Judai's 29 W streak or 23 since he ran during that mob duel, but as I stated, Yami Yugi was outnumbered 3 separate times and still won meaning 23 is Judai's streak.

Yusaku and Yuya draws pretty late in their show, so nope and I honestly don't know how to handle the Judai situation, as he Draws as The Supreme King (but does it count ?) A Rival streak would be cool. I would bet on Kaito Tenjo or Jack Atlas... well... i think Jack lost/tied more (on screen) than Kaito, but had more duels, so idk. Kaiba lost a shit ton, Reiji and Zane did not dueled that much (in my memory) to have a giant streak. Idk about Roa and Revolver

To make a note on Judai's win streak you said that the reason to have him fight one off duelists is to up his win count. I think it'd be more accurate to say that it was done to show off an archetype to entice Yugioh players to invest in. A great example is the win against Gin in Episode 71 of GX where Gin showed off the B.E.S. archetype. Basically, the show can show off an archetype without having a dedicated character necessary for the story like O'Brien with Volcanics or Johan with Crystal Beasts.

And the one with the least wins winstreak, yusaku, would probably reign supreme in a round robin tournament (excluding magic powers (looking at you yami yugi)) due to the fact that decks for dueling became much more about quick combos, and the older decks take time to fully build a board that wouldn't be possible with the quickness that later decks have.
