13 has one of the worst utilised casts ever 😭 The whole “mean girls” group went nowhere, Tina had so much potential but gave her nothing, Rose and Liv or Rose and Tina were established episode 1 and never heard from again, Symone had barely any storyline as a winner other than being good and not able to sew, Denali was thrown in the bottom for a quick way to save Rose and Tina, Tamisha was immediately unjustly eliminated in the Disco episode when she had loads of potential for a storyline with Kandy but they just threw all that away, Utica was saved a lot just for nothing to come of her storyline etc…….. The only well utilised cast member in the entirety of season 13 was Kandy Muse. Everyone else had potential just for the show to do absolutely nothing with it

IMO season 14 eats 13 and 15: the queens were on another level, every one of them is unique and distinguishable, the challenges were fun, the lip syncs were good, the top 5's track records were much closer so the winner wasn't so obvious, and personally I didn't mind the non eliminations cause they made the cast more endearing

Had to really dig deep for Jorgeous even though she lip synced 17 times. Idk, not enough big personalities, not enough good performances… just a very “meh” cast of queens. Not saying they’re not talented, they’re just not the best TV and definitely not what I think about when I think of drag excellence (bar 5 or 6 of them which are decent but would fade in other seasons). I’ll remember Irene Dubois longer than I will 90% of season’s 14 cast but that’s just me. They weren’t giving me what I want out of drag race and that’s ok.

Love Sasha and all the S15 finalists to the core, but I think I'd give the Best Finale point to S14, because S15's finale, as an episode of the show, felt kinda filllery with all the guest performances and other bells and whistles because of predictability of the outcome (I guess that's the bain of having a very strong contestant in a competition show). S14's could've gone anywhere, and a lot was going to be determined from how queens performed that exact episode, so there were stakes and it all made S14 finale feel more eventful to me.

season 14 finale had the same fillery things but okay. and after shea and sasha, to say sashas crown was guaranteed is BS because anetra was as much as a competitor as sasha and anetra had the power to pull a sasha velour and win the crown but she didnt but still, at a regular lipsync for the crown, anything can happen. dont say "production isnt going to give the win to anetra because production likes her and sasha colby did better" remember shea won 4 challenges and sasha won, production liked both of them also.

I wouldn't say Anetra couldn't one up Sasha in a lip sync, but I do kinda think that if we lived in a parallel universe, where Sasha fumbled and Anetra got the crown, the heads of the producers would be hanging from pikes rn. We had precedents of lip syncs for the crown being edited so the live audience experience then turned out to be different from what we got in the final cut.

Again, i see your point. However, we can be speculating to the moon and back about what could have been happened during the finales and that's not too productive of a convo. As a standalone hour long show on drag excellence, the grandiosity of S15 yes, does beat S14's, but as an episode of the season, like narrative wise, felt more satisfying. At least, that's me recounting how I personally felt approaching the two finales. Wouldn't exclude recency bias in how I perceive the events surrounding the seasons. But to put it differently (if this makes even a bit of sense) where I'd be watching just the _performances_ from S15's finale, I'd watch the entire _episode_ of S14's

As much as I love season 15, season 14 will be in my heart the most. The queens, the challenges, that beautiful rusical, and that finale! With season 14 I had moments where I didn't know who was going to win, and only hoped and wished my favourite queens would make it to the end. But in season 15, the minute Sasha was introduced, I knew she was going to win. Done and dusted, no one had a chance. And that took a little away from the season for me, because the anticipation will always be one of my favourite parts. And while Sasha's final song was iconic, Camden and Willows end was more my taste for a finale.

I agree, Willow winning it all was an absolute upset, and I looove when Drag Race have upsets and an uncertainty of who is going to win, it makes it more exciting. As much as I do love Sasha, just like you I knew it was going to be the Sasha Colby show, even though production tried to make the wins as even as possible, Sasha still had more wins and there were 1 or 2 that she didn't deserve. The only one who openly called out the favoritism was Mistress when they were asked who they thought should go home and why.

We had Kornbread leaving, Bosco being elimínated and returning, all drama and process Jasmine gave us, all drama Daya gave us, Willow being the undergod queen, Jorgeous as a lipsync assasin. And S15 was… Mistress, Lux and Loosey. There’s no way storyline is a check for S15.

Robin barely had screen time, same for Amethyst, Jax, and Aura. Especially because Aura apparently had this whole story line about her grieving her dad. Most of the early out story lines were cut. Instead the focus was on Sugar and Spice. (Love them, don't get me wrong, but they took up lots of screen time and their story never went anywhere). Meanwhile, Kornbread had this storyline with Willow, Kerri being a mother to all the girls coming out, Alyssa doubting Willow at first, the fight between Maddy and Jasmine.. So no, I disagree. 14 had way better and more story lines, and the early outs were featured more.

Honestly the entire top 5 was hella strong. Loosey's snatch game and comedy skills were unrivaled, Mistress and Luxx were good at basically everything (sewing, design, dancing, acting). Anetra made a dress on the level of Utica's sleeping bag look and was an amazing lip syncer. And of course, then there's Sasha who just had 0 weaknesses and brought it in every challenge.

I really haven’t been vibing with these past few seasons and I can’t put my finger on why. I’ve been watching a lot of the international seasons and each one I’ve seen so far is a joy to watch and feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the US franchise, I think I’m just over the overt production meddling and the general uncomfortable atmosphere. Even UK which includes mostly the same judging panel I found myself really enjoying whereas I still haven’t even gotten around to finishing 14 and not even started 15, and now we have this god awful All Stars season that is easily my least favorite season of any of the Drag Race franchises (that I’ve seen, haven’t dipped my toes in some notoriously bad ones like Down Under 1 or Espana 3).

Season 14 takes it all for me, despite not having the strongest overall runway package and almost having a bearable riggory. This cast is just hands down that got me so attached to them. Also, Drag Detective, I might have to disagree on you giving the checkmarks on the storylines and finale to S15. It's just with that season, we haven't gotten to know more of the early outs (with the exception of Irene) and the finale (based on behind the scenes) had some mishaps (like Anetra's back up getting injured, production accidentally revealing the Top 2, and Mistress not coming out on stage during the first Miss CuCu segment filming) that stained my viewing pleasure with that.

My ranking that nobody asked: 1- Season 14 : I still rewatch the season over and over again , because i fall in love with this cast , the drama was good , the challenges were great and even the lipsync have been as good , for me are like mid or great , lipsync they werent an especifical bad lipsync ( maddy vs june was ok , it wasnt that bad) , the only think that this season had its too much episode but i still prefer than the other 2 seasons. 2- Season 15: For me this was a fine season , had good episodes and also mid episodes . But the most negative thing is that a cast of 16 queens we had 40 minutes episodes for the first part of the season and it was not good enough for know how the queens are and when they decided to bring back the 60 minutes episode were in the top 7 or 6 . If i had to said one good thing about the season were the cast or maybe the lipsync even if we had two or tree really bad lipsyncs. 3- Season 13: This season for me , had the most rigorry , the twist here for me were the worst . the challenges were ok besides snatch game. The good thing here were the lipsyncs , even utica did pretty good lipsyncs and this is the runway season that everyone at least had a good look

Am I the only one who was not blown away by the season 15 finale? Sasha obviously nailed it, but I was rather whelmed by it overall. All in all I'd have to give narrowly it to season 14 over 15, 13 also being my least favourite of the three (not based on the queens, but on the really messy edit).

I agree with the autcome of the video, the only thing I personally disagree with is about the season 13 finale. Maybe it's just me, but that finale was wayyy more memorable than 14 and 15, the Rupaul performance, the finale ball, the tribute to Chi Chi, the Britney medley for lipsyncs are all so so good. The only thing that dragged it down was lackluster lipsyncs, other than that it was awesome.

I feel like I'm the only person who did not like season 15. Maybe it's cause there were only 3 cast members I really felt connections to, and only 1 made it all the way. Season 14 is definitely my fav, I feel like 13 gets way more hate than deserved, and nothing has been as good as s12 (minus the covid finale).

I disagree with u on a lot of things this time around! For instance, the storyline aspect, I would've given it to 14. For the first half of 15 the storyline only focused on Sugar and Spice. Literally all of the queens in that first half didn't get any screen time or storyline. The same with the finale. I liked 14's way more. The performances felt way more varied and polished. I agree that the fluff for 15's finale was better, but for the most part, 14's finale was way better. The lip sync as well. I didn't enjoy 15's as much, it felt a bit boring, especially because they reused a lip sync song. It also felt super obvious who was gonna win, so it didn't feel as exciting. In my opinion, those checks should've gone to 14 instead of 15, making it the best season.

The Season 14 finale eatssss the Season 15 one. All 5 songs were great, and honestly, based on the performances, any of the top 5 could have moved on to the top 2. The only memorable song and performance on the S15 finale was Sasha’s.

the twist of season 15 was said by rupaul, it is to eliminate a queen all the episodes and he broke it in the semifinal In short, it is the turn that worked best, but at the same time it shows that the production has good ideas but does not know how to maintain them over time, because if they included the twist of 15 in feared 14, it would have worked perfectly, no matter how even it was. the lipsync one stays and the other leaves, the chance to save yourself is that of the golden ticket however they did the opposite, they saved queens for no reason and the twist made no sense and was anticlimactic

I will say that Season 13 is my favorite. Tamisha Vs Kandy, Utica and Ru, Denali vs. Kamora Lipsync, Symone's Runways, Gottmiks Snatch Game, Denali's Ice Skating, The Top 4s Finale Looks... It's all so memorable.

Season 14 is more enjoyable to watch than 15. The challenges were better and the queens on 14 were more relatable and likeable. Season 15 I really didn’t care about the first half of the cast going home expect for Irene.

For me season 15 and even All Stars 8 are not engaging which is the most important factor for me. I literally just kept watching because I am such a big fan and because of Roscoe's but they lack something that I am unable to name but it never really made me engaged or obssessed like it did in previous seasons.

I feel like 13 had really great queens each one is actually memorable but I don't think cast synergy was there so it was kinda like season 11 part 2. Season 15 could have been better if production actually did a good job but they were doing pretty badly recently queens kinda carried that season. 14 is overall the best. Cast synergy is there ,showed a lot of young talents and production was nice.

I feel like season 13 has some unfair criteria against it. Like yeah the reunion and finale kinda suck, because it was still in the pandemic. Something 14/15 didn’t have to deal with. As well with the lip syncs, 13 doesn’t have the lalaparuza episode which skews the numbers,especially since it has the smallest cast amongst the three. Still, great video Derek!

I strongly disagree for the storylines of season 15, the primary focus in the beginning was Sugar and Spice, and although I do love their authenticity, kookiness, and genuine awe of being on the show with performance queens, their storyline didn't go anywhere other than them being social media baby drag queens that are twin siblings. We didn't see much of Robin, we didn't see much of Jax, Aura, and we were deprived of Irene! Even though Loosey, Luxx, and Mistress provided good television, it was ultimately the Sasha Colby show. I love Sasha, but there were at least 1 or 2 wins that she didn't deserve, there's certainly some obvious biases with this list that is overlooking some very blatant primary issues with season 15. I give storyline to season 14 and finale to season 14, I felt like the cast performances were nothing but filler on season 15, like the cast singing with Orville Peck, some of the queens didn't even sing and there were those that looked like they weren't even into it. Jinkx should have performed her Matron Mama Morten song when she won All Winners, her tribute and song would have felt more special and would have coincided better with her victory than doing it on a season that had nothing to do with her. However I loved Kornbreads performance and the top 4's individual final performances weren't too bad, but for me those were the highlights of the entire finale.

I feel like because of how fast they launch every season, by the time we are introduced to a bunch of new queens, there is already a new season with new queens to get to know so a lot of the queens who are not "Frontrunners" or "big personalities" get lost in the shuffle and forgotten. I feel like in earlier seasons even some of the queens who weren't that big were still fairly remembered, now it feels like a speed dating and I think it also doesn't give the same boost it did for the queens 10 years ago because of how fast the queens change

season 15 is the worst imo. too many queens, not enough time. even without the cut time, i just think casting that many is never smart. bound to place talented queens into the "filler pile". its just rude and thoughtless of production. they didnt learn anything from season 11 with the casting. season 13, yes, the porkchop introductory episodes, really pissed in the cereal imo. really messed up the mindset of both the winners and the losers throughout the competition imo. tacky. "losing is the new winning" was the angle they were trying to pitch but it definitely didnt feel that way. felt very mean for no reason. season 14 wins by default imo. better lipsync songs, better lipsyncs. better challenges, id say. casting was great as a whole. i really didnt mind the non elimination episodes. i can watch season 14 over and over and still want more. ive rewatched season 14 more than s13 or s15 ill tell you that.
