In the re2 remake I feel as if Leon takes out G5 Birkin on the train, I don’t think it makes much sense for Claire to confront G5 and leave Leon with Sherry. I do however wish that they would’ve put more effort into the A and B scenarios. For in the original Leon has to deal with Birkin and Claire deals with Mr. X. I also wish that they would’ve brought back the zapping system from the original which if you don’t know already is where things you do in one playthrough will effect your next. An example of this in the remake would be as follows: say you do what is meant to be canon and play Claire A, you get to the police station before Leon and meet Marvin, you get all of the emblems from the statues and open the secret room leading to the boiler room. Now you play Leon B and you get to the station after Claire has been there long enough for Marvin to turn, so he’s already dead, the emblems are already inserted into the statue so that secret room is available. You don’t fight Birkin bc Claire already has, instead of the elevator leading you to the boiler room it takes you to the room in the sewer which the elevator connects to but however you cannot enter this room bc it is barricaded by the cabinet. Instead the parking garage door on the east side of the station is unlocked bc Claire has already fired up the generator so you enter through there and meet Ben locked in his cell, you still are introduced to Mr. X here as Claire will be fighting Birkin and you will be fighting Mr. X. You still need to get the keycard from Ben so you need to solve that puzzle as the gate has shut again since Claire has already exited the garage before you obtain the knowledge of its existence due to a note left by Claire. I would also be completely okay with Leon and Claire having no face to face contact with each other until the Lab since Claire has a head start on Leon due to her getting to the station before him. However the lab isn’t very large and the whole bridge system wouldn’t make much sense if both character can only access certain areas via upgrading the chip to their wristbands. I would say that it would work better if Leon runs into the side room with Sherry resting on the bed and is informed that Claire is on her way to retrieve the antiviral agent however she has been gone for around 20 minuets already. Leon then works his way through the lab using Ada’s hacking tool to catch up to Claire as the bridges have retracted due to a time restriction of not being accessed via wristband. Leon finds Claire locked in the freezing lab due to the power circuit failing and restores it to get her out, Leon and Claire then return to bio control room and Claire dispenses the solution to obtain the purple chip for her wristband when they are ambushed by Mr. X who has been following Leon throughout the game, so Claire goes ahead while Leon lures him down towards the freeze lab and wraps back up through the stairs to meet with Claire, however she has already taken the antivirus. Leon then runs into Annett after he retrieves the G sample and the two are ambushed Birkin and Leon fights him while Annett returns to Sherry and Claire to cure her daughter. After Leon defeats Birkin he is met by Ada like in the game except this time Annett isn’t here to shoot Ada so Leon is forced to hand over the sample BUT Mr. X catches up to Leon here and “kills” Ada by knocking her off of the bridge while she distracts him so Leon can get to the elevator. Claire and Sherry take the cable car to the train, Annett still dies after curing Sherry, Ada survives the fall and throws Leon the rocket launcher to finally defeat Mr. X for good and Leon makes it onto the train and reunited with Claire and Sherry and then finishes off Birkin and we get the canon ending as usual. Wow that was supposed to just be an example but then I turned it into a full blown explanation as to how you could imagine the canon story lmfao. If you read this entire thing you’re the real mvp. Have a wonderful day/night lol

Sounds great but you'd practically be skipping the entire police station as Leon as there's not much left to do once the statue is opened. I always thought it would be nice if one character puts in the medallions whilst another has to solve some separate puzzle to activate the mechanism itself or something?

Matt Cogan I was thinking the same thing and honestly was too lazy to go back and add something for him to do. I guess just add another large puzzle for him to do. He’d still have to find electrical parts for the cell power panel, and get the magnum. Maybe give him access to Irons office since it’s technically unlocked already and have him find a note from Claire explaining what Irons has done with Sherry and then he goes back to Ben and he’s killed by Mr. X. Idk put an electrical part in his desk or something and have it be locked with a letter code that you need a film roll to figure out.

Yeah they screwed up the A/B scenarios in the remake. Both have you getting the spade key and needing to use it in the same doors, how'd the key get back there why are the doors locked when character A can just go through them after they unlocked them. Also why do both have to collect the 3 medallions and why do the symbols change? I still enjoy the game but it's clear they weren't thinking about canon/continuity when desgnin A/B in the remake.

RE2 is always weird that way cause you have a lot of the same boss fights either way yet one's supposed to have happened where another hasn't. I feel Leon 2nd run makes more sense simply because of how they handle how he gets his uniform. In 1st he just sorta magically puts it on after Marvin saves him while in 2nd he changes into after seeing Clair at the gate. Also it thematically feels better for Clair to find Chris’s note in route 1.

Id like to think this way but if you've finished a playthrough on the no way out dlc you would know that in the final cutscene Leon is the first person to show up at the gas station which can only happen in an A scenerio. And yes it also showed the car of only them two in it indiciating he left Claire behind.

You know I always found it ironic that the Canon Ending of Resident Evil 1 is that Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca are all rescued by Brad and escape in the helicopter moments before the Spencer Mansion explodes, however it is impossible to get this ending in game, because in Chris's good ending he escapes with Jill and Rebecca and Barry is missing, and in Jill's good ending she escapes with Chris and Barry and Rebecca is missing, I honestly believe this is why Rebecca and Barry were both confirmed as alive in Resident Evil 2 to avoid any further confusion to Resident Evil 1's canon, personally I just take parts from both Chris and Jill's scenarios and piece the Canon story together in my mind Lol

Texas Gent Jill’s original game is canon. Wesker blowed up the mansion, and never got stab by the tyrant. You never got to know what Chris found out but is implied that he was doing research before getting imprisoned by Wesker. Maybe Rebecca contacted Brad first got rescued, and told Brad that Chris was alive thus why Brad kept making attempts to rescue the other survivors. Ultimately Jill sends a signal to Brad and they get rescued the way we saw on the game.

Gabriel Helms for all of you who say that Chris is cannon, let me tell you that I disagree. I find it hurt to believe that Rebecca blew the mansion, it makes no scene. Also Barry’s betrayal is relevant on Jill’s campaign only. Also Barry is very important and Chris campaign makes it seem like Barry and Jill are irrelevant.

@@fernathebest414 the truth is that neither are strictly canon, the true canon is a combination of both campaigns. Wesker being "killed" by the Tyrant is the true outcome though, it's detailed in Weskers Report and Umbrella Chronicles.

My biggest gripe with RE2 remake is how Annette was handled. If Claire A is canon which seems to be implied by the game and is the more popular theory amongst fans, then that still doesn't explain how she seemingly dies in front of Claire and Sherry but still shows up to shoot Ada later. Even if she faked her death so she could go kill Ada, wouldn't Claire and Sherry have noticed? I mean, you can't hold your breath forever. One might argue that she didn't die after shooting Ada and that scene happens before her death in the room with the bed. Well, if that's the case then how did Annette get across the huge cavern that was just created to inevitably die in the room with the bed with Sherry and Claire? No matter which order you place these two scenes, they don't make sense.

Since the game doesn't show the true ending (Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca, and Brad all in the helicopter at once), it would be a great opportunity for them to show what they believe to be the canonical version of the story

Right after you make that choice you still go through all the same gameplay other than having to kill Mia after she frees you. Personally, I like the whole self sacrifice to save her husband more than the other choice but it's just presented poorly.

I disagree with your assessment of RE2 Remake’s canon order. I feel like there are details that work better if you play Claire first. While it does make sense that Leon as a cop would investigate the sounds in the gas station, I could very easily see Claire (the girl who’s charging head first into a quarantined city to find her brother) also trying to help out after finding a bleeding man on the floor. If you play Leon first, he just sort of gets his police armour off screen (implied that Marvin gave it to him, i guess? If Marvin had armour why wasn’t he wearing any? Would’ve saved him from that gut wound) but Leon 2nd has you actually see Leon finding the armour in a locker which makes more sense imo If Claire meets Marvin, she’s gets told by Marvin that Chris isn’t in the city and that she should focus on getting herself out which works better from a story standpoint, while in Claire 2nd, she just sort of stumbles upon a letter in an optional area suggesting as such. When Leon and Claire meet at the gate, Leon asks “did you find your brother?” Which makes absolutely no sense in Leon 1st since she has literally just arrived at the station and is currently locked out. In Claire 1st this dialogue actually makes sense. With the exception of the kennels, the game seems to imply Claire is ahead of Leon. - When Claire leaves the garage, there’s no damage to the walls from Leon’s encounter with Mr X. - Claire will always be the one who’s attacked through the window by the licker in the interrogation room, and the window will already be broken when you play as Leon. - Claire opens the T-Virus container, and it’s already open when Leon goes to take a sample. All of this happens regardless of order you pick, so Claire arriving first and being ahead of Leon fits better. In the 2nd Run, Mr X shows up earlier, and him being Leon’s main threat in the story means it fits better for Leon 2nd Leon finishing Birkin on the train works better for me simply because I feel like Leon wouldn’t just let Claire go fight the big monster on her own, while I COULD see Claire staying back to protect Sherry after Leon tells her that he’ll handle it. Also, Leon going back and essentially telling Birkin to fuck off while firing every last bullet he has at him sort of shows the beginning of Leon’s transformation into RE4 Leon.

Because it makes more sense for Claire to be scenario A and Leon B (as in the original, Claire’s main boss is Birkin and Leon’s is Mr X, story wise with Sherry getting infected etc and Ada not falling into the abyss makes more sense to me)

I actually think it's still Claire A Leon B. There seems to be little continuity but there are a few things that can't happen unless claire did them first and Leon second. Leon's the only one that can pull the locker before G so Claire probably attempted to pull it first and inevitably failed. As well Claire only find out where Chris is through Marvin as the only other area she can find out about Chris's whereabouts is an optional note, it just feels like Claire would focus more on findings Chris is she didn't know that he was on vacation. Also in Leon's scenario you can see sherry's locket was already places in the slot so Claire could get the Devil vaccine meaning Claire got there first. Collaborated by the fact that Claire's self destruction doesn't occur until minutes after she gets to sherry. Other small things help prove this in my mind. For instance Leon breaks the ladder while putting out the fire, Claire doesn't so she logically escaped the police station before Leon has a chance to put out the same fire (yeah still weird but meh). I guess other small piece of continuity is that Leon escapes to the train way later than Claire gets to the train as evidenced by the fact she's at the train when Leon is at the security room and the platform collapses leading to an alternate path. (BTW there has to have been two Mr X's. One was killed by G and the other mutated into a super tyrant in the umbrella lab). Story wise it makes more sense for Claire to meet Marvin. And I feel there are less contradictions in this order.I mean this is RE we have dealt with contradictory scenarios before, and ultimately it's the scenario that is less contradictory that's true.

Just.realised that Sherry's mom by my timeline dies minutes before she shoots ada. I can really only think about it in two ways. Logically she didn't shoot Ada and instead ads falls due to the platforms collapse. Alternatively She doesn't cure sherry and Claire does it herself. God this timelines fucked.

I mean they've added contradictory scenarios to the series since the first game, why would that bother to not have them at this point? In a way I think it keeps the fans coming back and maybe Capcom just wants you to build your own canon out of the choices they're providing even if not every little detail fits in perfectly.

The Leon B scenario makes more sense I think because Claire was ahead of him in the story and was already on the train once Leon killed Mr X, which means she most likely got to the station first and met Marvin. And by the time Leon gets inside the station, Marvin has already turned into a zombie, Mr X was already roaming the station, and Claire went underground through the secret passageway where she first fought Birkin and met Sherry. By the time Leon meets Ben in the basement prison cells, Claire is already at the orphanage rescuing Sherry from Chief rapist Irons. And while Leon is facing the alligator in the sewers, Claire is taking an infected Sherry into Umbrella's secret underground lab through the cable car. Leon makes it soon after with Ada, and manages to activate the lab's self destruct system which causes Claire to get a cured Sherry to the bottom level while Leon is fighting Birkin. After Leon defeats Birkin, he has a standoff with Ada and then uses the elevator to make his escape. Claire and Leon then talk through a monitor about their need to escape and then Claire fights Birkin on the train platform while Leon fights super tyrant Mr X on a platform that is taking them towards the train. Leon finally kills Mr X and Claire wins her battle against Birkin. Claire activates the train and once it starts moving, Leon manages to get to the already moving train and hitch a ride ultimately meeting Claire and Sherry in the train and then defeating Birkin one last time before finally escaping Raccoon city. The B story for Leon and the A story for Claire is definitely the canon story. And if not, then I guess Capcom left the canon up to the player to decide.

I disagree with your order in RE2 remake, I think it's Claire first and Leon end again. *Spoilers* Leon always finds the interrogation room window broken, which only gets smashed in Claire's run. The Garage is always powered down in Claire's. Claire opens the G virus container which is already open in Leon's. The walkway to the West Lab breaks in Leon's and not in Claire's. Also Claire obtains the virus to cure Sherry,. goes back, Sherry is cured, THEN the self-destruct activates, which is caused by Leon taking the virus from an already open container. Also Claire finds out that Chris already left when she's first, which would explain by she isn't in a rush to leave at the end of the game, in the 'True Ending' scene, because she already knows he's safe.

In My Humbel Opinion to make sense of the story RE1 remake Barry imprisons Jill with Wesker's blackmailing as Rebecca and Chris got to Wesker and Chris took care of the Tyrant's first form, later on there is a possibility as Barry gets back to the lab meets with Chris and Rebecca and some explaining done by Barry that he was blackmailed Chris being the good guy he is replied Wesker is dead nothing to worry about Barry and they rescue Jill and all 4 survive the final form of the Tyrant. RE2 remake as depicted in story it's a combination of both A and B senario's just leave out the repeating boss battles for it to make sense RE Outbreak 1 and 2 besides confirming Alyssa Ashcroft is alive I think we can safely say the good endings are the canon ones since when you play only one player and get out alive with all people intact which you should do always leads to the good ending so I'm sticking with that. RE3 The story suggests that Nicholai was alive is the true ending not the Barry chopper pilot either way Jill and Carlos are alive. RECV Steve Burnside dies, Chris and Claire escape. RE Umbrella Chronicles/Darkside Chronicles Chris and Jill took down Umbrella but with the help of Wesker in the shadows for him to get all the power. Leon and Krauser's campaign is definitely the good ending. RE4 Leon saves the president's daughter, they did or not do "overtime" is left ambiguous RE Revelations Chris and Jill took T-Abyss and ended Veltro, we see a glimpses of RE5 Lost Nightmares in the ending RE5 Chris and Sheva kill Wesker and saves Jill RE Revelations 2 Good Ending Moira learns to conquer her fear and Claire, Barry took down a mutated Alex Wesker. Connecting this to RE6 Claire is talking to Piers on the phone to take care of Chris. RE6 All scenario's are canon RE7 Ethan choosing Mia BECAUSE THAT'S YOUR WIFE!!!! Now waiting for RE3 remake

In the lab before william G3 fight, as claire you find the cabinet closed which she opens it using sherry's pendent, if leon was there first then he wouldn't be able to unlock it but instead he finds it already open. And lastly the final fight with william G5 seriously would except leon to let claire go and investigate the train platform ?? Definitely no leon would %100 go there to investigate himself, and to make more than %100 sure i believe sherry would want to stay with the person that risked her life for her and saved her not the guy she just met. I differ in some points. RE1: as far as i remember, neither Jill or Chris get imprisoned at all, it was confirmed that both of them operated individually until the end (probably until the lab, where they finally meet each other). Also, it makes more sense for Chris and Jill taking the Tyrant down together while Rebecca was triggering the self destruct system. And probably the group met Barry in the way while escaping (like in Jill's scenario). There are couple of things that confirm Jill's scenario to have happened. In RE3, Jill describes in her diary still having nightmares after her experiences with the undead, which she couldnt have seen if she were imprisoned by Wesker. In REV2 Moira confirms the «Jill Sandwich» line, and in RE5 is confirmed that Jill is the one who plays Moonlight Sonata at the piano, meaning that Jill went through her scenario, too. REO: someone clarify me this. Is this game even considered canon at all? Not even Alyssas's file in RE7 confirms her presence during the Raccon City incident. RE3: If Nikolai is truly alive, then, the Barry ending is the canon one. As it is because Nikolai took the choper, that Barry arrives at the rescue of Jill with a second choper. RE2: about this game, it made more sense from the beginning that Claire A/ LeonB were canon, but unfortunately, the remake mess up things, as it doesnt even make sense in some points when you try to combine both scenarios (mainly for the final events). So, let us say that is safer to assume that it is a combination of both scenarios, indeed.

Re:Outbreak, and this is confusing, I believe 4 characters have endings canonical in Outbreak 1, and 4 from Outbreak 2. i.e The Outbreak 1 ending scenario arises from George meeting his friend, so George and 3 others canonically went to the University. In Outbreak 2, David and 3 others are at the Umbrella facility and escape that way. Kinda confusing, there is a list somewhere however, I just cant remember. For sure however we can say George's canon ending is File 1, and Davids file 2. Yoko is almost certainly File 2 also as she meets Linda this way. Also, I believe Yoko is a confirmed survivor, as its her testimony in court that ultimately brings Umbrella down if im not mistaken.

In RE remake my theory is that the canon is mostly Chris scenario, however some scenes of Jill's scenario with Barry happened so it's likely that after Chris went investigating the first room Barry arrived and met with Wesker and Jill and they decided to split. But at some point of Jill's scenario Barry and Wesker were able to capture Jill. Then the the rest of the story is Chris' scenario, with Wesker being "killed" by the Tyrant. Barry doesn't appear anymore cause he was able to escape the mansion by himself after having helped Wesker to capture Jill. Now for RE 2 remake I think the canon is more a mix between the two scenarios: Leon gets to the police station first and meets Marvin, but then he doesn't encounter Birkin G1 but goes straight to the parking lot, later Claire finds Sherry and fights Birkin G1 that's why by the time she goes to the parking Leon has already been there so she finds the dead dogs of Leon's scenarios and the Lickers. There are also two mr x one that chases Leon/Claire in the police station and that dies in the final battle with Leon at the end, and another one in the sewers that gets killed by Birkin G3 in Claire's scenario. Also I think Claire goes past Leon and Ada when Leon gets shot, and she arrives first to the sewers and the labs but without fighting Birkin G2, that is fought later by Leon. Then Claire takes the G antidote using Sherry's pendant but doesn't fight Birkin G3. Leon arrives after her takes the G virus fights G3, Annette is wounded, but in the canon doesn't die already but actually goes taking care of Sherry and meets up with Claire. Then Annette loses counsciousness and is believed dead by Claire and Sherry before they escape. Leon meets Ada after that but with her last strenghts Annette is able to shoot her before finally die. Claire fights G4, while Leon fights the Tyrant. In the end Leon is the one who protects Claire and Sherry by going to fight G5 since Sherry says in the canon (RE 6) that Leon "saved her life back in Raccoon City". And there you go that's my theory for both the RE 1 and 2 remakes official canon story.

RE2Make may replace the OG in the games canon but I still prefer the structure of the PS1 title to the most recent outing. It was great to do something in Claire A only to go back in Leon B and see the effects of that thing affect Leon's campaign. Fighting Birkin in Claire A and then later a different mutation in Leon B because the virus mutated to survive the fight with Claire earlier, made you feel you were truly getting the full story. Also how does Ada survive Leon A from falling from that height? She doesnt get the grappling hook till after coming back from near death as showcased in Umbrella Chronicles, so she wouldnt have been able to use that to repel to safety. Getting bashed into the console setting off the self destruct that seemingly comes out of nowhere in Claire A makes a lot more sense and would explain how Ada is all bandaged up and on deaths door during her mission in UC.

RE2 Remake is definitely an excellent game, but man did Capcom cut corners when it came to the story and background lore from the 1998 PS1 original. The A and B scenarios lined so much better in the original. And the cuts. No super lickers, no giant spiders, no optional giant moth, and worst of all no zombie Brad. Just a lame wink wink poster. No in game explanation for why that helicopter randomly kamikazes into the RPD. No scene of Mr. X and other Tyrants being air dropped into Raccoon City. Minor spoiler here, is it just me or is Birkin freakin dead and could not have injected himself with the G virus in the remake? They even confirm he's dead. Unlike in the original that showed he was still alive. Nitpicking yes, I still think RE1 Remake is still the best remake. Shinji Mikami would've likely done a better job with an RE2 Remake. The guy was very meticulous.

The only way I could see Resident Evil 1 working is Albert had Barry put Jill in the jail cell and guard her. Albert then showed Chris the tyrant and shot Rebecca. Rebecca gets up after Chris battles the tyrant and starts the self-destruct. Barry hears the self-destruct sequence and let's Jill out and they all meet on the helipad. definitely an interesting video. I would like to propose the argument that in the Remake2 i still feel that claire meeting marvin is slighty more relevant than leon. Seeing as leon actually has no connection to the people there, outside of him being a cop, Claires destination was the RPD from the start due to her looking for Chris. Even though Claire can find Chris's letter, its not necessary to find. When she meets marvin, Marvin is the one who gives claire the info she needs and the player will receive regardless is they find Chris's letter. It's also not out of character for Claire to help people seeing as her whole story in the remake is taking care of/rescuing sherry. This is just my opinion.

the problem i have with Leon a Claire b, Claire clearly reaches the lab first indisputably, the virus case was already unlocked, the self destruct starts much later for claire. claire goes the top rout to the train, while leon falls through to the elevator, the door is already unlocked, Leon calls Claire while she starts the train activation,i suppose if you somehow assume Leon never faces G3 (maybe G1) canonically you can assume annette just passed out on Clair and went to stop the thief of the G sample and shot ada. also unrelated but i also get the impression that there might be a second tyrant in the rcpd (maybe after the one with orders to get a sample of G is destroyed by birkin?) idk there were 6 in the city, i could see one lunking over to finish off the survivors, if Claire leaves first he would find leon and start stalking him. (this one not being programmed to hunt G just chases leon as he just happened to miss claire).

Also on the subject of which ending to the first game is canon, I think it's confirmed in RE Revelations 2 that it's Jill's campaign. Not just because Barry is alive in it but Claire jokingly says after surviving a trap that she was "Almost Claire sandwich" to which Moria says "How many people has Barry told that story too?" Another fact that points to the Jill/Barry campaign being the canon is ironically Resident Evil 0. In Resident Evil 0, Rebecca encounters zombies and monsters very similar to the ones in the mansion. However in Chris's campaign, it's kinda obvious via her actions and dialogue that she barely understands what's going on. However in RE0, not only did she encounter the monsters, but she also met and battled Dr. Marcus, the man who caused the t-virus to leak and thus toppling the dominoes that led to the RE series. There's a theory that I support that says that Rebecca did indeed survive the events of RE0 and 1 however she didn't make it to the mansion before it self destructed and instead she was picked up by Alpha team who explained what happened. This honestly makes a lot more sense and would also explain why she quit the line of police work and instead went back to college to pursue a career in medicine which is really what she wanted to do.

That's a very interesting theory. Although, I personally saw the events of RE1 going something like this: Wesker, Jill, Chris, and Barry all make it to the Main Hall. The gunshot goes off, and Chris investigates. He encounters the first zombie and ends up getting trapped behind the door locked from the other side. After he doesn't come back, Jill and Barry look for him. If we're keeping with Chris losing his gun and taking Jill's instead, I would say Jill drops her gun in the Main Hall after she's attacked by a Cerberus that comes through the front door. Chris kills the Cerberus and takes Jill's gun. Jill ends up with the Shotgun and is rescued by Barry from the trap. Otherwise, you could just say that Chris doesn't lose his gun... That works too. (Also, addresing Rebecca being more vulnerable in RE1 compared to RE0... I personally like to imagine she was injured by the end of RE0 so not in the best condition to be fighting. Which is why she needs saving from the Hunter by Chris.) Bosses: Either or could have fought Elder Crimson, but I like to think it was Chris. Chris saves Richard from the venom, and Jill finds him waking up afterward and is saved by him from Yawn (Richard getting eaten in the process since it doesn't make much sense why he was in the Neptune room in Chris' scenario). Jill overhears Barry talking to Wesker who is hiding out in the Residence/Guardhouse. She drains the fishtank room, killing Neptune. Chris is the one who fights Plant-42, being captured by it and Rebecca rushes to make V-Jolt and save him (since it makes more sense how she knows chemistry enough to make it compared to Jill). Chris meets Wesker in the Residence/Guardhouse, and is given supplies (the supplies in the shed). Barry leaves Jill supplies in the storeroom inside the mansion, and fixes the broken door. Chris fights Yawn in the library. Jill fights Black Tiger In the tunnels, later on being left there by Barry. Jill fights Lisa with Barry, and Lisa falls over the edge, then she investigates the lab and returns the power before being betrayed by Barry and locked up by Wesker. Chris arrives later and sees Wesker fighting Lisa, and (using the knowledge he's picked up from Lisa's diary) opens her mother's tomb. This calms Lisa down and she leaves voluntarily. Chris fights Tyrant in the lab before rescuing Jill. On the helipad, all four arrive only to be ambushed by Tyrant, who goes at Chris first since it sees him as the biggest threat, having defeated it earlier. While Rebecca cares for Chris, Jill and Barry fight Tyrant, resulting in Jill shooting it with the rocket launcher. Afterward, Lisa attacks Wesker on his way out (Umbrella Chronicles), because she remembers him as the aggresor compared to Chris not fighitng her. She is later killed in the self-destruction of the mansion.

I have thought about which Res 2 remake run is canon or not, I thought that Leon A and Claire B was the canon but then I remembered a line that sherry said to Weskers son in Resident Evil 6 “Leon saved my life back in raccoon city”. Now this makes since if Leon is the one to fight her father at the end of Leon’s B run, because if it is Claire who fights William, all Leon would do in that situation is stay with sherry while Claire protects both of them and fights a monster with a mini gun, and when the monster is defeated and they all escape they just walk off into the distance together and get flipped off by a truck driver. Leon A doesn’t actually do anything to save sherry so I think Claire A and Leon B are the canon ending because if they don’t retcon Resident Evil 6 the line sherry says makes no since.

Even in the remake I think it is safe to say the canon playthrough is Claire A / Leon B like the original. There are several examples throughout the game but the easiest one to point to that would make sense would be the end. Claire opens up the area containing the G virus sample and antidote with Sherrys locket, then leaves the area to take the cure to Sherry. While she is with Sherry right after curing her, the alarm triggers that a G virus sample has been taken, prompting a lockdown and self destruct sequence, which is what we see Leon do in his campaign. Also the areas that Leon has to travel through to escape are the same as Claire, except the zombies are still mostly inactive and the doors locked when she runs through them, and the zombies very active and doors unlocked when Leon finally makes it through. Also Claire had already passed through the monitor room and was at the tram station when Leon eventually made it to the monitor room and they made brief contact.

I think people are missing the point for RE2 Remake. The scenarios are best left ambiguous 'cause the devs don't want to takes the player's paths. What's really canon IS in the end both Leon, Claire, & Sherry survive, become a surrogate family walking into the sunset LOL Which are very similar in the case of Silent Hill canon ending (Good+ ending with Harry, Heather, & Cybil alive).

I actually hope they remake all of them and just have Claire and Leon hook up. Chris and Jill need to also. I don't want the games to center around that but in this case having them involved romantically can raise the stakes on the horror elements. In RE7, Ethen isn’t infected at the point of the choice. He only becomes infected after he was placed on the wall in the ship. After that, Ethen actually begins to go through the early phases of infection as detailed in a file. (Like being able to see the hallucinations that Evelin shows him)

I really hate the *"Choice"* presented in RE7. On the hand, the Game kinda assumes you'll make the logical decision; *Use the Antidote to save Mia and get her to safety* (And why wouldn't you, right? I mean, she *is* you wife.) But the issue I have with it, is that the Game never does anything to make *You* want to help her. It suffers from the same lack of emotional impact that FALLOUT 4 had. *It keeps telling me "this is someone I love",* "I need to save them," but I never *feel* that. This woman left me, disappeared for 3 years, ran off to join what might as well be another Bio-Terrorist Organization, tried to kill me repeatedly *(Yes I know that is a result of Eveline's Mind Control but that goes back to my gripe about joining a Bio-Terrorist Organization)* and I only get *one* clip at the start of the Game that's supposed to make me feel the desire to finally hunt her down? *I don't buy it. It's not enough.* But Option B is none better; So you're telling me, young girl who I don't *really* know, that I am supposed to pick you, over my wife (Who I say repeatedly that I love), you get angry at me for not picking you, but then if I do pick Zoe, the Game says *"SIKE NIGGA! YOU THOUGHT!"* and just kills her off immediately...Even though I gave her the antidote which means Eveline should no longer have control over her... *Okay.* I appreciate that RE7 managed to be scary, I appreciate the *obvious* nods to PT, I even appreciate that we took a break from all the hardcore action. *But RE7 wasn't that good.*

And that hurts to say because I love the crap out of Spec Ops: The Line and F.E.A.R. so when I heard they brought in the man who wrote *both*, I dunno maybe I just got too hyped. I wasn't scared by RE7 either, not like the RE2 Remake or the first Revelations, but I stand by my response to 4thsnake. It has a great horror atmosphere. And at the time, I was sondesperate to get something vintage from RE that I would take even that.

Same. RE7 was not a good RE game in the slightest. A decent horror game. But not a good Resident Evil game. It's like someone got high and played/watched a bunch of classic horror movies and several games like FEAR and SH and decided to cram that into RE when none of those horror genres fit into Resident Evil's style of visceral, sci-fiesque body horror. And replaced that with generic Saw and TCM slash gorn scenes and bizarre paranormal shit. The Mold makes no sense, Ethan's in second stage infection (detailed in one of the files of the game) despite only having been infected for a few hours. Eveline somehow manages to completely put the other Bakers besides Zoe under her thrall despite the files detailing how the mold takes time to infect and Marge's diary/notes talk about how she turns over time. The cure plot point ends up being null and void due to the bullshit choice mentioned before as Mia still ends up being possessed despite giving her the cure and still suffers hallucinations even before that. So what was the point of curing either of them then?! Zoe says no one can leave because of the infection, but Ethan's still infected and no one ever brings up needing to cure him. And despite their (bad) attempts at trying to make Eveline be sympathetic, any fraction of sympathy goes out the door when you play Daughters as she immediately enslaves the Bakers while laughing in Zoe's face about it in two minutes after finding her. And there's no variety between the enemies, making things feels like a chore. I'd like to see a Wasted Potential on 7. RE7 really sucked onions when it came to story. Or even trying to be anything like a game in the series. The fact they even pulled Chris into this and brought Umbrella's long dead corpse back to life for obvious attention seeking from older fans sickens me.

I love your interpretation of Wesker's narration excluding Barry in UC since that makes so much sense for him. I've always regretted not reading the RE2 novelization but it's over 400 pages and I didn't want to get involved in that heavy a page turner back in the day. Personally, I would love it if RE8 concluded all the lost story threads like Nicholai, Steve Burnside, Jessica, and the third Wesker Child. How would you plot out a story like this?

Re1 Chris is more canon, because it sets up the Wesker rivalry and shows us Rebecca. Claire A Leon B is canonically for the original because it's the only version which Sherry gets infected which is canon because of 6. Re2 Remake Leon A Claire B is canon because Leon has Marvin's knife in Re4. It also let's Claire kill Birkin and Leon kill Mr X. Otherwise Leon kills both which doesn't make sense since William is more prominent for Claire's story.

Headcanon: Depictions of prior games change radically because its how the different characters remembers those events. So of course salty Wesker would leave out his failed blackmail of Barry Burton, and Claire remembers Ada's death differently because all she has to go off of is what Leon told her, or Sherry remembering parts of the Raccoon City incident wrong because she was a little kid when it happened, and was probably traumatised by the whole ordeal.

I am kind of disappointed that in the remake of RE2 Claire and Leon's scenario A/B play out largely the same. The main difference being based on whether you enter the police station through the front or back doors. Leon always encounter Mr.X as his final boss and Claire Birkin in his multi eyed form before your B scenario character encounters the monstrous blob like Birkin on the train. In the orginal your A scenario character mainly encounter Birkin for boss encounters while the B scenario had periodic encounters with mr.X. G mutants serving as bosses with the odd appearance from Birkin himself and a mutated Tyrant as the second to last boss cutscenes were similar but I remember at least one that only happened once in all four scenarios something along the lines of Claire meeting Ada I think I forget been that since I played on ps1
