I bought my S2000 at 12,300 miles in 2004. I sold it last year with 213,000 miles. I loved every single mile but have 2 kids now so needed something bigger.

I have owned an S2000 for 6 years. I try to bring my copy to perfect condition. I do most of the work myself, I only outsource bodywork repairs to a company. Today I became your subscriber because you are a mine of knowledge for me. Greetings from Poland.

If there is anyone I would absolutely trust with my car it would be you guys. I learn something new Honda related basically every episode. If I'm ever in the area with my Acura I'm scheduling an exhaust install.

Ive had mine since..2010, 06 cable throttle and I've been through all of these aftermarket clutches.. I killed the exedy clutch in about 3 months, Act didnt fair much better. Since my experimentation I've stuck with OEM when it comes to the clutch. Excellent comparison.

Watched "Wheeler Dealers" this past week for a BRZ. They showed a steering wheel re-wrap with red strip just like yours. However, before applying the leather, the craftsperson cut a corresponding groove in the plastic under the stitching so there wasn't a bump where the material overlaps. Came out really slick.
@enigmaticcruz248310 ай бұрын
OEM clutch is definitely of better quality and sturdier construction. Only aftermarket clutch, that I know of, that has encased springs on the clutch discs are Clutch Masters and Action Clutch.

Keep up the good work !! I own 2005 - S2000 , and I’ve learned a lot watching your videos..I may be sending my car to ur shop all the way from Texas ..👍
@LHTPerformance10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the compliment, we actually do a lot of cars from Texas. I think I told the story on the channel, but one guy drove from Texas straight through for a soft Top, drops his car went to go see a movie and ate, then came back and drove it home. We both still can’t believe how he did that.

I don't think my 06 S.O.S. supercharged S2K needs anything at the moment but every time I watch your vids, I'm constantly trying to figure out some "need" I have to get it to you!! lol. I seriously hope to meet you and have you work on it someday.

I bet the leak on the side of the block is coming from the top TCT gasket. When that top gasket leaks the leak will run down the little lip on the head, then down the side of the block by the transmission.
@CapitalNULLNull10 ай бұрын
that top gasket (that looks like 8 )yeah. so much mess for such a tiny little gasket.😢

I’m 6’3”. My S2k is my only vehicle. I fit in it. 6’4” might be a different story. Just in case anyone was on the fence about getting one because of their height.
@LHTPerformance10 ай бұрын
I think you’re about the limit. The person that bought the silver dancer ( a build video) was 6’ 4” and couldn’t make it work. Even with a lowered seat, he couldn’t get it to work.
@peejayem470010 ай бұрын
I’m 6’3 and used an s2000 as my daily for over a decade. Assuming you’re using stock seats a BYS seat rail is a must - it makes it much more comfortable

i am restoring my 95 Civic coupe. i recently had the clutch replaced with Exedy because OEM is not available. the clutch grabs rather high. i tried adjusting the pedal but when it grabs at mid point the pedal height is lower than the specs. I just can’t seem to get it right. hope you can make a video on how to properly adjust the clutch height. thank you.

Im very picky whennit comes to my s2000 interior and it looks brand spanking new. Its my dream car and i own one at 22 years old. Also can you do a video about clutch buzz and how to fix?
@aerynlovell475410 ай бұрын
So you fixed the drone at higher RPM but not low RPM drone. So now you need an exhaust cutout that will send the exhaust flow into a second resonator that eliminates low RPM drone. Then, you can switch between low RPM and high RPM resonator.

What about the sachs clutch which looks like a rebranded oem or vise versa. Is clutch engament a wear indicator on the S2000? Mine is near the top also but no slipping. My other truck also manual I put a new clutch and it engages near the top like the old one. I will probably go witht the sachs when the time comes to save money. 125k so it might be the original clutch still.
@LHTPerformance9 ай бұрын
It can be adjusted to change the engagement spot. But 125k may be towards the end of its service life. It’s a lot of labor to replace the clutch, I would install the best you can at that time. After installing around 700 clutch’s in S2000s, we would strongly recommend the full OEM clutch kit.

Hey john im looking to buy your slash cut exhaust tips is there any way to make it fit with a 3 inch diameter exit of a muffler ? Would i have to use a reducer?
@LHTPerformance10 ай бұрын
The 4” Exhaust tips are 3” inlet that taper down to 2.5”. Cut off the taper and it’s ready.

Question for you, if we delete the cdv on the ap2 and still running the oem ap2 clutch system, is it going to slip if shift faster than usual?
@LHTPerformance8 ай бұрын
It will help the clutch engage faster. I would recommend slower shifts allowing the clutch to fully engage before applying power.

Is it possible to redirect the drone at a high rpm like past 5000rpm. At that point you're not cruising you're doing a spirited drive.
@LHTPerformance10 ай бұрын
Tuning it into different spots is very tough. We managed to drop it from 1900 rpm’s to 1600. Wait while you see the latest modification.

Any idea when the oem clutch setup is going to be back on the store? Looking to get one
@LHTPerformance10 ай бұрын
We took it out the store. Unfortunately we had someone but a clutch in backwards and the credit card company sided with him. We almost have to make products ‘Idi0t proof’ to sell them.

Lock tight on the flywheel bolts and the pressure plate ones as well. Red and blue respectively, torqued to spec. I guess I got a good one or I installed it correctly or maybe I’m not as hard on it as others idk. Also it’s all exedy. Pilot bearing, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disk, throw out bearing even the slave cylinder. I’ve never had a brand new Honda with a factory clutch pack to compare it to but it’s been working fine for me. The one that came out was a diken (excuse spelling)
