Matt, great class. So glad you pointed out the serious ramifications of using a bat or golf club for self defense. Years ago i made an arrest when a male used a bat on another male, who sustained serious injuries, due to a road rage incident. The instigator had a baseball glove, in the back seat of his vehicle, strapped to a bat. As many people believe this will allow a person to have a bat in their vehicle when not actually playing at that time. This is what occurred. In court, it was learned that he wasn't going to or leaving a game, but that he had never played baseball. He was found guilty of going armed with intent and assault causing great bodily injury. When going to, or leaving a game or practice, a player should have the bat in a zippered case, and with the other baseball gear, stored in the vehicle's trunk. This hopefully can prevent a serious problem. Stay safe. Doug.

Great videos Matt! I agree the cane is an excellent tool for nonpermissive environments. I live in a state where gun laws are very good, and I carry a firearm daily for self defense. I'm also a firearms enthusiast and love plinking my own handloads at my steel targets. That being said, I also have a few hickory canes for instances where I travel to places where firearms are not allowed. I enjoy learning the techniques and perspective you demonstrate in your videos! Keep up the good work!!!

Here's a tip... put a sock on your bat. If someone gets hold of the bat, the sock will slide off of the bat, giving you another swing at the piñata... 🎉😂

Sorry I missed your last class/ Lesson Sensei... Great lesson : I have been taught " Stick fighting " since my High school year's. And I happen to like Baseball ⚾️ alot. I knew how to swing a Bat.! I have started to watch Golf tournament's and that's as much use I've had for a Golf Club, I wouldn't have one.! A Cane is my # 1 choice .! I have been taught how to use a Cane and the Nunchucks in high school and the Army .! Now , I can't carry my nunchuck's out in public , so , naturally I'm carrying my canes for balance issues and , self defense .! Legally... I have benefited from the resistance band's videos that you have done in the past, and I do train/ exercise with them.! I have lost a few pounds thanks to the techniques that you have taught me , using the Bands .!! I am very confident in my choice of My Self Defense canes , # 1 choice is the Cane .!! Thank You Sensei : For your service and your dedication to the Martial Arts and your sharing of your techniques .!! I am looking forward to seeing your next lesson Sensei.!!

Thank you very much Matt! Always learning so much from you. Keeping your hands separated makes so much sense indeed as you have explained in many great ways. Creating stopping power to end asocial violence as fast as possible for self-defense. My first choices for outdoor self-defense are: umbrella, walking stick, flashlight and yawara. For home security: shillelagh, tonfa and tanbo. Stay safe too 🙏

Matt , my choice for improvised weapons to carry around in my car would by any type of object or item shaped similarly to the dowel rod weapons you have featured in previous videos as these are the types iv been practicing with or perhaps an adjustable metal cane like the ones sold in pharmacies.

Thank you, Coach! May we have another? Great work mixing it up. My choice is cane, as always. A colleague of mine kept a 5 iron and some golf balls in his work truck, just in case of nocturnal predators. On another note, is it possible to block an elbow effective ly?

20:30 I'm saying we put the gun ranges and an armory. Civilian armory sounds fine, but that's more of a gun shop. I'm talking about something like a canoe or kayak rental, except you don't have to pay. You get assigned a rifle, and a monthly allotment of ammo, which you have to fire at that range. They'rd be a soda machine that takes change, a vending machine with snacks, a rangemaster, and probably a recruiter. On busier days, trusted volunteers. 21:26 Ah, you worry about a lack of discipline. Fine. Certify them with the rifle before you load it. Make their first shot count. You're not going to PT my guts out. I just want to be more technically competent as the American population over the average Iraqi. That's all I'm asking for. 23:01 Once you get em' to bow down to an empty rifle, I think they're on the way to certification.
