I had a corp.(Pty Ltd) already setup a few years ago in unison with a Discretionary Trust. I filed my recent PPA under the Pty Ltd name late last year, hopefully when my product becomes profitable I'll be able to finalize the patent - I think I might get away with a design patent. I've also submitted a Trademark(that incorporates my design and name into the logo). Oh a GOOD tip that I found out - especially if you value your privacy.. setup/buy a "PO BOX" instead of your residential address when filing the PPA. Otherwise when people see the completed patent they know your whereabouts. Same applies for business registration(here at any rate. you can get a business names register details suppression too). Another tip: if you have a decent war chest, and are considering getting goods manufactured( ie 100% FULLY - you don't touch the end product) in CHYNA, get a trademark registered there first. China is a 'first-to-file' country for trademarks. I've read that some shifty traders will see your name/brand/business logo and trademark that and hold you to ransom.

@cyber, Great advice on the TM filing. Trademark ransom has been a real problem where individuals filed trademarks in foreign countries for existing companies and then sold the marks back to the companies at a huge mark-up. Trademark laws have harmonized over the years and this is increasingly less a problem, but still of concern. Might be a good topic for a future video. 😊
