I think 75mm is better even on 1s as it can carry a bigger battery, better camera and fly longer and more stable with 40mm props. The new happymodel mobula7 elrs version has changed the game completely.

Why does the ability to carry a bigger battery and better camera (not really sure this is true with how good the Runcam Nano 3 is) make a 75 better? The flight characteristics of the 65’s are much better indoors where tiny whoops are flown

@@CiottiFPV I can fly my 75 outside no problems. 65 feels like it barely handles AC being on inside. Longer flight times are always better unless you just hate flying lol

@@EarthWalkerOne you know that you can buy more than one battery right? Run time doesn’t matter as long as you get more than 2ish minutes, it’ll a tiny whoop so you’ll never do anything long range requiring a single battery that lasts 5+ minutes and the lighter weight of a smaller battery improves the flight performance which is important for those of us that fly hard, check out my whoop Wednesday live streams to see what I mean, it’s blindingly obvious

That may have been true a few years ago, but a lot has changed and some of the new lite 75mm whoops are really impressive. I agree that the 65mm is still more agile for racing on tight tracks, but a similar (or same) setup on a 75mm frame with 40mm props is really awesome. Much faster, smoother, quieter and with considerably longer flight times.

JB PLEASE TRY THE MOB 7 1S ELRS!!!! I had an awesome time with it being my first whoop for 4 packs until I lost my gyro 😭 but it flew like a butterfly lol and when I toilet tanked the battery it flew even better IMO 👍🏽✌🏽

couldn’t disagree more. the new mobula 7 75mm 1S with ELRS is so much better for me. 65mm are too twitchy for me, I have both the mobula 6 (normal and HD), and the meteor 65. I fly mostly outside, though

OMG!!!! LOL man I was just about to say that I wish JB would've tried the new mob7 1s lol I got mine a month ago and it was my first whoop and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! it flew on rails and it flew even better when I toilet tanked the battery! However I had a faulty gyro and now it's done after only 4 packs😫 so I'm looking into getting another one and at least I will have spare parts lol but I fly outside also and I don't think the 65mm would fly as good as 75mm the mob71s elrs is an amazing whoop 👍🏽✌🏽

Bardwell wrong? 65 mm has its place but once I started flying 75 mm it changed how I felt about 1S quads. 75mm is now my favorite build for backyard flying. maybe it's not officially a tiny whoop but it's more fun for me to fly and longer flight times. and don't get me started on Miata, is that even a car who drives those?

Is converting my moblite 7 into a moblite 6 as easy as getting a smaller frame and props? Or are the motors or something else different?

I see coments about performance. How about endurance? I want to buy mobula7 1s elrs, the motors are great except they don't have ball bearings, they have bushes so I don't know what to do. Meteor 85 have 1102motors that have ball bearings and spin slower but heavier. So what do you think. What is more durable and cheaper to maintain?

75mm allows you to use 40mm props and the larger the prop, the better the performance, period. its more electrically efficient and more powerful and aerodynamically responsive and efficient. itll be more agile and fly for longer than a 65mm frame that uses 31mm or 35mm props. a 75mm will be more agile, period. all of the comments here are subjective opinion and not based on fact. if you have more power and more efficiency then the only other factor is the dynamics of having an extra 10mm of motor spacing. its across the diagonal so the actual size difference is absolutely minimal and the extra power and torque on the centre of gravity from a 40mm prop hugely outweighs the extra moment needed to change direction. the only factor that favours the 65mm is that it fits easier into the gates, so you can have more margin for error. thats it.

Many people are missing what the question is. Sometimes people confuse the premise. Tiny whoop means a specific thing, indoor agile and fast around an indoor track. He is not saying that 65mm is more fun to fly than a 75mm or that 65mm is better outside than a 75mm or 65mm has more Acro ability. In the same way a Miata (?mx5) has a specific remit, small, rear-wheel drive, light with specific feedback characteristics whilst driving. Giving it a bigger engine doesn't make it better, but that is not saying that a 911 with all the extra power isn't a better car. The more changes you make to the 65mm design the more you start making it into something else. Would changing the 65mm frame for a 5 inch, then uprating the motors to give appropriate power to weight, then upgrading the ESC to handle the amps, then giving it a bigger battery to maintain flight time... would that make it a better quad... yes... but its not a tiny whoop.
