Also very important, is the type of NAND flash. There is SLC, MLC, TLC, and QLC, with TLC and QLC being the most common. While QLC SSDs are cheap for the capacity, they’re generally not recommended for reliability because of their higher likely hood of error. Can you please explain the difference between D Ram and D Ram less SSD which is good to purchase
@alexturnbackthearmy19079 ай бұрын
SSD without dram will drop its speed to hard drive levels when its working with many small files, instead of one big one (which is what system does most of the time btw). DRAM prevents this by forming these requests in big packages that use bandwidth much more efficiently (keep that speed fast). In short - drive with DRAM is always better then one without it.

why do stock coolers perform so bad? they literally blow air right onto the CPU
@Dictatortot-n3d2 ай бұрын
every air cooler does that. The reason is, tiny weak fan, and small aluminum heatsink, the more aluminum and copper the better, stock coolers have barely any aluminum. Theyre not designed to give u optimal performance, only to do the bare minimum to keep your pc from overheating

What kind of NEW gaming PC can I get for 1200$ budget?

I spent exactily 1200 on mine a year before Covid. Got me a pretty good prebuilt from alienware with a 1660 super and and an i5. Runs new cod on around 100 fps so I’m happy with it. Think it’s called alienware aurora r11

Stupid question but do you need to buy power supply cables to plug into your you or does the psu come with cables that I can use
@DanielMYT11 ай бұрын
If it's modular it should come with the cables. If it doesn't, then there is a problem, as PSU cables are not always universally compatible between different brands/manufacturers.

pls explain the gpu and motherboards, i know some basics but not much to buy one on my own
@tumultoustortellini9 ай бұрын
gpu improvements aren't about mobo, that's more a thing w/ psus and their connectors. You'll have to look into your specific models if you want to know what you want but generally (afaik) they range between 6 pin and double 8 pin, though I could be completely wrong. Still a good place to look.

Should've added on to the Nvme SSD's, the importance of having an onboard Dram cache when it comes to gaming performance.

LTT did a Gen 5 test and the improvements were negligible for response time, it was only better for moving large amounts of data, if you want a fast pc you should save money and get a gen 4

Note: This "doesn't" change your internet speed. If you have a 3gb/sec drive you won't download from the internet at that speed unless your internet provider allows that speed. "More expensive plan" this also goes vise versa.

I got a question, my CPU is the 10100f and GPU is the rx 580. What would be a good upgrade for a CPU and GPU?
@tumultoustortellini9 ай бұрын
Depends on your budget. If you're going cheap, a 12100f and 6600 or 6650xt is great, and can even bring out 1440p in well optimized/slightly older games. If you're going solidly midrange (around 500 dollars to spend), get a 12600kf, and a 6700xt (or a 6725xt, it's only 10 dollars more when available). More than that and you'll have to tell me yiur budget

Which ssd is best for gaming
@JustSomeDinosaurPerson5 ай бұрын
Honestly, for actual gameplay purposes there is very little to no difference in performance between Sata SSD and a NVME one. Frametimes aren't affected much and load times in both cases will be orders of magnitude better than a standard HDD. From there, the NVME will pull just barely slightly ahead of the Sata HDD. At that point, it boils down to cost and what is available on your motherboard.
@nerolykk9 ай бұрын
For gaming sata SSD is enough
@buttergolem85849 ай бұрын
But do you need more than a Sata SSD for gaming?
@rashira96109 ай бұрын
The best way I can think to put it is: It depends. Since the biggest difference between SATA and NVME, aside from connector type and physical dimensions of the device itself, is the Read/Write speeds, it all is down to how patient you can be when it comes to loading times. Honestly, if you don't mind longer loading times, you might not even need an SSD at all. I store a lot of my games, single player games in particular, on a USB 3.1 HDD. the load times can be pretty bad, but I figure its a small price to pay for 5tb of storage at a reasonable price (I paid $90 before tax) that I can use not just for games where the longer loads wont bother me, but also as long term cold storage even for games where the long loads MIGHT bother me, which I can just transfer to an SSD when I want to actually play. ( I don't know about other stores, but Steam lets you move the install between drives so you don;t have to redownload/reinstall) This allows me to get away with keeping the stock 512gb NVME that came with my laptop for my Windows install and any non gaming programs I might want to have, and a 1tb NVME for the couple of games where I feel faster speeds are necessary, so that I don;t have to invest an ASSLOAD of money into high capacity NVME SSD's (my laptop has no SATA connection, just two NVME slots)
