Klothys is another card I like putting in gruul decks. It's easy to glance over because it doesn't impact the board directly. But If she comes down early the lifegain + damage helps a ton to keep you afloat If she comes down late chances are you'll have a 4/5 indestructible body And I haven't even mentioned the graveyard exile or mana generation yet Just a whole lot of utility for 1GR

One card that I'll suggest that seems to me to be a little unknown is Zhur-taa druid. It's not the most efficient since it costs gruul, but I think being able to add in a little extra damage while also adding mana is very helpful.

I was thinking of exactly this kind if videos for net picking needs. A video that gives you ideas for good cards for your classic deck as new season of cards comes out.. not many of my friends has the time to follow up on each edition if cards :)

Bro i watch your vids, and every now and then i see a card i own. I just get so excited that i have a card thats worthwhile. Last time i looked at my cards, i was looking for standard. Mana crypt looked terrible to me then! I feel so silly, but im happy for the memories to looks back on and laugh!

Agreed. This card has saved me from a blue counterspell trying to get rid of a big creature or a red removal spell of mine SO many times......and nobody ever expects it.....and it's so cheap to cast.

I’ve had Decimate fail me before, but that was before I changed my commander to Xenagos, God of Revels. Rhythm of the Wild is an all-star; usually I get Anger into my graveyard before casting it. I use most of these cards, and I’ll be adding in those Warhammer 40k recommendations

Spellbreaker Behemoth is another Gruul flavor card. Gruul as a clan have less consistent identity than other guilds, but one that recurs often is "Don't counter my stuff!" and Spellbreaker fits nicely at the 4CMC slot. Another very favorite for both utility and flavor is Signal the Clans. It's a great budget card, and *probably* won't find you exactly the creature you need...but not always. Thanks Demo!

Gruul is a color combo I struggled with for a while until Faldorn came out. Going to consider some of the cards you mentioned

If you play Rhythm of the wild, i would also consider fires of yavimaya and maybe invigorating hot spring. Escape of the wild might also be a very strong card for gruul. Oh and if you want to strip momentum from blue players monsoon is a musthave. And lastly im a big fan of Dragon broodmother even if she isnt that good anymore :)

Immolating Gyre is a solid one-sided board wipe in red.

There's a ton of "staples" to consider which is the beauty of this game. A couple quick ones are Krosan Grip featuring split second and Guardian Project for card advantage. 😉

Green has fight effects which deal well with creatures. Green is great at trampling and big creatures, so since green focuses on creatures, boardwipes are not something we care about.

Cindervines is one of those cards that puts in WORK for 2 mana. You can get 5+ damage and removal for 2 mana.

I agree, being able to play lands off top is always good. Used her as the commander and that pump ability is great if you don't have anything else to dump mana into.

in addition to dragonlair spider i like dragon broodmother, yes it is harder to cast but the guaranteed token EACH upkeep is great and as you are in green the 3r1g shouldnt be too hard to get

Dire Strain is going to be even better if you want to ramp with it thanks to the new creature that makes all your lands basics including the library. Yes I'll fetch my best lands now thank you.

Guttural Response is always in my Gruul decks. It's enabled me to win games and at the very least eliminate blue mages. No Cyclonic Rift ruining your board state. Also, Klothys is probably my favorite Gruul card and definitely my favorite commander. Gives you ramp and keeps the graveyards clean so you don't have to worry about things in the late game.

Red Elemental Blast/Pyroblast are not Gruul, but can go in any Gruul deck.

I honestly don't see myself running Decimate anymore. I just find it too slow and the fact that you NEED all the targets makes it less good in my experience.
