pisses me off how some teams are too impatient with their qbs. Jimmy G i get because he's always injured. Mitch is too inconsistent. Sam Darnold needs a fresh start. Deshaun too. But why would the dolphins turn around and say, "fuck our rebuild" and give up on Tua? Went from #TankforTua to #TradeTua after one season... some of yall don't deserve qbs

People like to pretend that Josh Allen wasn't doing shit either, and the same talks of getting rid of him were starting to bubble up before this year. "But Herbet and Burrow " nothing; plenty of guys had great rookie seasons but ended up flaming out later on, so everyone letting their recency bias boners drive them might want to think twice before blowing their loads too early.

I agree. I kinda hoped tua would be a bust because of the tank for tua crap but he’s far from a bust. Steve young played for the buccs and was garbage.... hall of famer. Troy aikman was trash in his first year at Dallas. Hall of famer. Brett farve was so average that Atlanta traded him. Hall of famer Peyton Manning has arguably the worst rookie year of his generation. Hall of famer Imagine the league if 7 games was enough to know all these guys were crap and cut them from the league.

Have to, no. Want to? Well, it's either trade an arm, leg, and a soul for a sure thing, or take the high risk, high reward option of a Zac Wilson or Justin Fields. Getting Robert Saleh and Mike LaFleur shows that the Jets want to win and win now (at the very least, improve to a record above .500), so it makes more sense to go for Watson to me, but either option isn't a bad one, especially with rookie QBs now being able to come right into the NFL and play at a high level out the gate. No answer for them is the wrong answer at this point, aside from doing nothing.

@@chidorisnake22 Yeah, if it was a Dak Prescott or a Carson Wentz, I’d say draft the rookie with the cheap contract, save yourself the other picks to improve your roster, and pray it works out. But chances are no QB in this draft will ever be as good as Watson, and he’s still only 25. Yes his contract is expensive, and you’d have to give up a ton of draft capital, but I think Denzel Mims would blossom into a superstar with Watson, and the Jets could use Darnold in the trade to give up less picks. Watson just needs a competent defense, and a decent running back to be successful. The Jets could give him a few weapons and spend the rest of their picks building an elite defense (like signing Jaire Alexander when he hits FA next season). If you have Deshaun Watson and a great defense, you’re a contender. He elevates everyone around him and had an MVP-caliber season with practice squad receivers

Drew Lock played alot better end of season the reason wasn't they "dumbed" down the playbook. They changed the entire blocking scheme, watch the games up until week 10 our play calling was pass, run (3 yards or less), pass, punt. Our O Line was horrible and our RB stats were padded by one long broken run that would look like we got 80+ yards and it was one rush for over 50 yards lol but after week 10 the entire scheme and play calling changed and the team improved. Plus not to mention our best WR didn't play a snap with Courtland Sutton. He was throwing to rookies and career backups.

The broncos trade lock and Gordon to the jets for Darnold. Also I’m certain at this point the Steelers know they can’t win with Big Ben, but also know they don’t have an alternative on the roster and can’t get one through the draft and any trade would weaken other positions and only result in getting a QB that someone else seems inferior. The Bears are a terrible situation for any rookie QB. Nagy and Pace are lame ducks, and chances are that rookie will have to learn a whole new system the next year after Nagy gets fired, and there's no guarantee that the next GM is going to want him to be their guy. This is all assuming that George McCaskey grows a pair next year, but who knows. You either go all in for Wilson, or you do what the Dolphins did and trade everyone of value and try and hit on those picks. Teddy seems like more of a stop-gap guy for a team trying to rebuild. Any fan of a team outside of a few (the LA teams and Miami for the lifestyle as well as the other major market teams) should be EXTREMELY grateful to the Texans. There's about 20 teams that will never even sniff a ring if the NFL goes the way of the NBA and quarterbacks are allowed to not keep their word and honor contracts.

Deshaun Watson needs to look himself in the mirror and realize he did this to himself. He doesn’t have the leverage and this new coach seems to have that old school mindset, if you sign up for a job you need to attempt it before you quit. Good luck with retirement.

@@flanigans1029 so the Texans will be a top team with or without Watson next year? They will probably be the exact same or maybe slightly better, cause they are rebuilding and have little young assets and talent. His only leverage was to not sign that contract and he gave that up. If he sits out this year all he did was waste a prime year of his career, money that is his own and whenever he decides to return he is still tied to that contract it doesn’t go away. Where is the leverage? Grow up Deshaun.

@@marcusdow5356 if they have him sit he is a major distraction for the team and players won’t want to sign there. If they trade him he is no longer a distraction/they can move on from that story and they would receive a lot of picks and players in return, players that will help them win both immediately and in the long term. Watson is 24 years old and is already a millionaire, he can wait out a season if he has to(but probably won’t because something will give by this time next year)
@marcusdow5356
@marcusdow5356 3 жыл бұрын
@@flanigans1029 The Texans are not having him sit anywhere that’s his choice, they are just saying honor the contract you signed that you have yet to play on. The Texans have to pay him if they trade him still, it doesn’t help them to pay a player to play for another team. I don’t see many players going out of their way to get to Houston regardless of Watson. No matter the compensation they receive how will it be better than a star qb in his prime. If he wants to sit out a year that is his choice but he will be paying over 3 million in money back if he sits out during preseason and his contract just freezes until he reports there. He is playing chicken with an organization that can afford to play the long game. They can just wait for him to report next year or the year after or year after recoup some of the money he owes them and rebuild cause they will suck with him or without him.
@marcusdow5356
@marcusdow5356 3 жыл бұрын
I’m usually on the side of players when it comes to getting paid, contract situations, going to a new team etc. But Deshaun Watson signed his deal in September 2020 and 6 months later decided I don’t want to play for you anymore. Not 2 years into a deal, not even a day of playing on that deal. He hasn’t played a down on his new contract and now he expects the Texans to just say we will do whatever you want to wherever you want ( no trade clause ) just cause you had a change of heart. He signed the deal after D-Hop was traded for a bag of marbles. If he hated their decision process why take their money. Definition of having your cake and eating it too and this ain’t the NBA where individuals matter more and can dictate terms. The NFL is a 22 man team sport and one man doesn’t make an organization go.

Sorry bro, Payton Manning was and will ALWAYS be a God QB. Everyone wants to ride Brady’s nuts but once a cheater always a cheater. Plus Manning changed the league forever when it comes to offense, and how defenses will play till the end of time. Audibles, changing formations, hard counts, shell defenses, line calls, changing protections. These are all concepts created by, for, and brought about by Manning, deflating balls and his own nuts is Brady’s calling card. Rookie year Manning had already started to change the league.

Zach is unfortunately wrong If you look at the big picture the Texans hold all the cards while Watson has none, while the moves they have made suggests that they are looking to draft a new QB (Pep Hamilton signing) it does seem that they want the trade to happen on their terms and not Watsons. its also pretty obvious that despite all the bitching and moaning Watson has done, he doesn't want to leave any money on the table either The Texans aren't under any illusions that they are going to the superbowl with Watson so at this point the goal is to field a competent football team that can win more than 4 games. If they can win 8 then Caserio looks like a genius and franchise savior while all the pressure will be on Watson to win a SB to whatever team he goes to. A player only gets one free " I hate my team" card before the media turns on you if you fail to deliver big and Watson has used his one up
