Which Towers Can Beat BTD5 Solo

As a few people have pointed out, I wasn't thorough enough with the spike factory! I just tested it and beat Impoppable by getting 4 or 5 3,2 and 2 4,2 factories on round 76, continuing to buy more 3,2s, and that beat round 79 as well. I continued using that defense all the way through round 85. Sorry for overlooking that! ALSO, I just confirmed that the cannon ship does NOT work for round 76, it actually performs worse than destroyers. I'm pretty sure this is because of the specialist building.

I mainly ignored a route if it doesn't seem to have any real potential. Like I don't think the cannon ship would be better than a destroyer for grouped bloons cause it fires a slow projectile, while the destroyer was firing quick fireballs.

Fun fact: Engineers with specialty building have a secret attack which is part of why they're so op; while cleansing foam normally removes camo and pops the lead layer off of bloons, the specialty building (although not mentioned) causes the foam to outright pop bloons and damage moabs, which synergizes amazingly with bloon trap (foam + turrets pop the moab, traps make money off the ceramics). And (spoiler) I'm 100% certain that engineer can solo impoppable + mastery

Yep. I main engineer, and i remember beating mastery mode "10" on easy using only engineer. I used villages though on impoppable mastery, but only engineers otherwise.

Cleansing Foam does "Foam" damage, which only Lead bloons are vulnerable to, but an MIB effect (which the Engi specialty grants to the tower by default) makes the Foam damage hit all bloon types, basically turning them into absurdly high-pierce road spikes. another thing that's broken about the specialty, not a _bug,_ but rather an oversight, is the fact that 1/3 Super Sentries are literally about 5.7x faster than 1/0. base sentry attack speed: 0.86s super sentry attack speed: 0.43s (2x base) x/3 attack speed buff (oversightedly for both): -0.27s sprockets sentry attack speed: 0.59s (1.459x base) sprockets super sentry attack speed: 0.16 (3.687x normal sprockets, 5.375x base, 2.688x super) the only downside to this is that Super Sentries are, literally entirely unaffected by the 2/0 upgrade, NK just forgot to make them affected. said upgrade reduces the regular sentry spawn speed from 10s to 6s, a 1.667x power multiplier. at peak, here's how the sentries compare: - 2/3 Engineer, no Specialty: 2/x spawn rate buff * x/3 attack speed buff = 10/6 * 0.86/0.59 = 2.429x the power of a 0/0 with no Specialty - 1/3 Enginner with Specialty: unupgradeable halved base spawn rate nerf * sprockets engi speed advantage over base sentries * Specialty 10% attack speed's spawn rate buff (yes they made it actually math out to a 1.1x buff) * price advantage (no 2/3 upgrade * 5% Specialty discount) = 0.5 * 0.86/0.16 * 1.1 * 3000/2600 * 1/0.95 = 3.591x 0/0 without specialty *3.591/2.429 = 1.478x stronger with Specialty* so, overall the Specialty makes 1/3 engineers' sentries 1.478x as powerful as normal 2/3 engineeers' sentries. pretty solid. EDIT (there have been a few edits but shh): Sprockets is actually, not all too worth going for, even with the specialty. 1/0 Engi costs $950, Sprockets gives the Super Sentries a 2.688x attack speed buff, total value of $2546 (plus whatever you get out of Nine Inch Nails, Larger Service Area which is arguably a downgrade, and the Sprockets' Engi nail gun speed buff, so idk maybe worth). i can't be bothered to do _more_ math, but overall i think either 1/0 or 1/3 with the Specialty is by far the most efficient over any non-specialty engi (and without the specialty, Sprockets is straight up garbage). best option overall is probably just a few 1/0s into 3/0s and eventually 4/0s, for all those "Cleansing Spikes" and bloon traps on top of powerful sentries.}

Something simple, small picture of them and a simple outro as well "So, there you have it, these are all the towers that were able to beat the game by themselves" but I can understand it taking too long, might take over one hour to do something simple like that if you're not used to it...

I think what happened with spack is that you are popping the Bloons in the middle of the track, letting them regrow, and then popping them again. It should definitely be better to sell the spikestorms and place a lot of spiked balls instead at the back, maybe even spiked mines, not sure.

I was actually trying this myself not long ago, glad to see someone test it out in a video. Another challenge I've tried recently is from a fresh save, entering any map (I chose monkey lane) on Hard and just seeing how far you can get. No monkey money usage (you only have 200 anyway) and if you reset for any reason you wipe the save to avoid having the advantage of extra exp. Don't worry about your main save file too, because you kinda have 2: one on the cloud and one locally.

As it turns out, The Big One actually pops 5 layers of bloon, like in the flash version. The upgrade description says 3, but it is absolutely 5.

the spike factories can beat the game alone, on over throne. Fast track, factories on the Thrones and some extra supporting ones and you win. Or at least i think, i don’t have fast track but i have beaten over throne impoppable with spike factories and road spikes before.

I'm not exactly sure what I would call it, but I would definitely add a bloon that punishes you for not taking it out quickly enough. It would be able to either affect your towers or buff the bloons around it

My idea: Humongous Enchanted Aeronautical Destroyer (HEAD) Basically a MOAB with slightly more health than a DDT, it's purple so it's immune to magic towers, and regrows over time, it can also temporarily stun the towers that did the most damage to it once it's destroyed, it's also a bit faster than a BFB, seems balanced enough but idk

i’d probably add a support blimp. (SB) This bloon would run into and latch onto the most damaged bloon on screen (it will latch onto a bad when possible) and it will heal it by 5% of the support blimp’s hp every 3 seconds. It will slow the bloon down a bit though, and it appears on round 140 alongisde the regular bad.

Before you eventually started microing them anyway, why did you just leave the apache helis in the middle of the map instead of setting them to pursuit? I know it doesn't work the best pre-btd6, but it's still more effective than just letting them waste attack time in the middle.

Have you tried adding timestamps to your videos. I think this one in particular could benefit from it, and you should have the requirements to use it because for some reason you have to meet certain requirements to use the timestamps feature, otherwise it doesn't work. Oh, and placing down a ton of lightning apprentices would be enough to solo round 76. All the lightnings will be continuously damaging bloons, preventing regrow farms. I also use it in BTDB to infinitely defend an infinite rainbow rush for a cheap cost And another thing: Bomb towers can pop camo bloons using moab assassin. It's obviously not going to make it far anyway on rounds like 82 and 53 where there are camos layered upon regular bloons, but the main question is can you afford moab assassin early enough to round 24

The regular attacks of fan club still exist, it doesn’t completely replace the attack, so you can still have the extra pierce extra cheramic dmg juggernauts shooting, so it is still worth having a few of them.
