On the one hand, yes, Sean's defense isn't that bad. On the other hand, the Weasle isn't that good at analyzing. He often doesn't understand what he's seeing and keeps making shit up. Probably the best analyst on YT is Jack Slack, but he loves being a snarky contrarian, which sometimes leads to him dismissing people's skills. But if you follow him, Luke Thomas, Dan Hardy and (currently) Cory Sandhagen, you definitely won't need the Weasle.

Alex's ground game isn't terrible. He has rather good submission defense, sure his takedown defense isn't top tier, but he really doesn't get in really bad positions on the ground. And his leg kicks are obviously nuclear bombs. Considering how bad Jan pieced up Ankalaev's legs, I don't think he'd be standing after 1 round of Alex's kicks. Aspinall and Ngannou are NOT the same. That’s what they mean. Ngannou bull rushes you, swinging wildly with no technique whatsoever, watch his fight against Rozenstruick & tell me his striking is anything more than straight 🗑️, and has 0 ground game. Ngannou is the definition of a “one trick pony” because ALL he has is his power. He knows he just has to clip you and you’re going down so he uses no technique behind it & just throws huuuuge looping punches.. Aspinall, however, has his agility, speed, TECHNIQUE and he has the power to go with it all. If you compared the 2 in JUST skills alone, Aspinall is definitely the way better fighter. Ngannou: -power -only a striker Aspinall: -power -agility -technique -speed -has striking, wrestling AND bjj So who’s the better fighter?? 🤔

Legacy? Holding all positive comments aside regarding prime Stipe's best moments in his career, the current version of Stipe would not be a fair assessment of Jon's ability as a heavyweight champion. Stipe's most recent fight was with Francis and he got destroyed. Then, he's been on the shelf for the next couple of years and is getting into his early 40s, meaning his bounce back (excluding freaks of nature and performance-enhanced fighters) is questionable. If he's truly set on proving himself once more at heavyweight, he should fight someone who would provide a clear challenge. Sure, it might affect his legacy if he is knocked out and finally earns his first official loss of his career, but it's not shameful to lose. More lessons are learned from losing than from winning. Not everyone can be Khabib and power through a nearly flawless (and probably suspicious) career. For Jon to take out an aged and diminished Stipe, especially if he makes it look really easy, puts him in no better of a light than what Jake Paul has been doing to former MMA stars. Pick them off when they are old, injured, or retired, preferably some combination of those. I could be 100% wrong and Stipe could pull a miracle, but I still think the best fight for Jon is Aspinall.

I feel like you kind of missed the point. A win over stipe is really the only thing left for Jon. I would love to see him put stipe away and then fight aspernal but I don't think that will happen. Tom is dangerous and Jones isnt in a place where he needs to take that fight. He COULD ride off into the sunset with an amazing legacy, or he could stick around and challenge himself against an entirely new generation of fighters. But I think Jon is going to pack it up and call it a day after stipe. He might take a big money fight in a few years. (It would be awesome to see him finally fight Francis) but I get the feeling that he will be happy with a win over a legend like stipe. That win is a feather in his cap. A good signing off point. Fighting aspinall just opens the door for more fights and I'm not sure Jon wants that.

Jason’s list is great. Only ones I would change are Pantoja to A, Weili to A, and Grasso to C I feel that Pantoja was kinda underrated in the conversation about him and he seems to have quite the edge against his potential opponents this year. Mokaev is the one I think stands the best chance against him but seems unlikely to get a shot this year. I also think Weili felt severely underrated against Suarez. Yes Suarez is amazing but honestly didn’t look that great in her last fight and might have issues with the weight. She looks a lot better at Flyweight. Weili is crazily strong for her size and Incredibly well rounded while Suarez isn’t well rounded. While I think you both nailed Grasso pretty well, it felt like Blanchfield was a little overrated in the conversation. She did great against Santos but not incredibly amazing and when you compare that to how Grasso did vs Valentina, Grasso does seem to at least stand a decent chance against Blanchfield imo. Just how I feel and hope this does come off as healthy debate which is my intention. Great video and discussions regardless!

Saying Strickland has 0 takedown defense is incorrect in my opinion he has a 84% takedown defense in his ufc career he allowed only 4 takedowns in his 20 fight ufc career so far and two of those came against Usman in 2015. Also how can anyone outside of Sean himself can be so certain he smokes Chito to show this amount of disrespect who exactly smoked Chito in his career? I grant their fight was about 4 years when they fight the second time but I did not detect Sean having an easy time with him before the injury which also you could argue Chito caused with a kick of his own Just casual takes in my opinion sure they watch but the level they understand is low this channel is good about top 10 moments or whatever not ranking or predictions videos appreciate the effort though

Middleweight and Light Heavyweight have the problem now that all the top guys are great strikers but not great grapplers (except Ankalaev) and the champion is a fantastic striker but has never shown to be great at grappling. Both Strickland and Pereira have the edge on a pure "kickboxing" style fight but a good grappler could find a hole in their game and smash them.

@@horobi-san4427 Izzy was HEAD AND SHOULDERS above Strickland in terms of skill. Adesanya should have blown through Sean like Islam through Volk in fight 2. What happened? Izzy had a bad night, and he has realized his head is no longer in the position to dominate. He's taking time out to see if he can come back. I'm guessing Ankalaev had a bad night, didn't have his mental game right, but based on what we've seen from him every other time (other than him getting sloppy against the Bearjew) I'd say Magomed is very likely to be a dominant champ soon, and it may last a while. It makes me a bit sad, because I really like Jiri, but Ankalaev just looks too dominant.

He refused the fight, that was a big error, but Ciryl just lost against the GOAT (yes a big defeat) and again Ngannou (in a pretty close fight). I hope to see Gane vs Aspinall this year ! I think you have to put omalley in A. Because i think he beats chito just on the fact that chito starts slow af and sean will punish him for that. So sean wins that fight and just based on that sean oretty much got to pick his first titke defense what makes you think he wont get to pick his next one. Even if merab Wins doesn't mean he will be next. Same with triple c. Honestly sean might sit out the rest of the year and wait for someone else to get bigger. Who really knows. But what i do know is that sean IS one of the best strikers in the ufc and def at bantamweight. SO If he doesnt go up against someone that absolutely smuthers him in wrestling and takedowns then i feel like sean wins most of the time. If its not merab or ccc i think sean wins at least 7 or 8+ times out of 10. So with just that I think he has to go in A teir

I think it depends on how Jones feels like he performs against Stipe before he decides if he's gonna fight Aspinall. And this may be an unpopular opinion but I think blaydes could give Aspinall a good run for his money. He was winning in the first 20 seconds of that fight.

O'Malley B tier if he only fights Chito. C tier if he has more. That fight is a toss up for me. O'Malley is the better fighter and I can see him pointing Chito to a decision pretty easily. Chito starts slow and let's fights get away from him. But I don't see O'Malley finishing him. His chin is too strong and Sean's power is overrated. His timing and accuracy are his best weapons not his power. And I think you need both to break a chin like Chito's. On the flip side if you're O'Malley then you need to be on your bike for 5 round. Touch and move as this iron zombie walks you down. And Sean is a bit fragile. I can honestly see him breaking his hand or foot in this one. I think as the fight goes on the momentum builds in Chito's favour. O'Malley has never had a problem with cardio though so maybe he can just run and gun to an easy 50-45. Just needs to avoid getting caught or hurting himself.

Some people are going to be dissapointed when Suarez can't impose her grappling on Weili & is forced to stand & gets beat up. They're living off of the Suarez that dominated Carla & Grasso with her wrestling over 5 years ago when women's mma at 115lb was still young. Since her return she beat roaster filler Montana De La Rosa & Andrade who was overtrained & on a L streak from quick turnarounds & short notice fights to pay for her divorce. Even in those fights, Suarez finally got the subs, but there was resistance to her wrestling/grappling. Weili is a different beast rn, she's good everywhere, plus she's strong & athletic. Suarez can't strike with Weili, but Weili can stop Suarez's best skill.

I don't see how Pantoja is less likely to keep his belt than O'Malley. Kape is the only new threat I see that can shake things up. Bantamweight is stacked right now. Chito is a much harder fight than people are crediting. Then down the rankings are Cejudo, Merab, and Sandhagen. Beneath them Song, Yan, and Figgy are favorable but high level opponents. Good prospects like Umar also coming up. It's the most stacked division.

@@Otsego Mokaev is basically impossible to submit. He's still very young and inexperienced which is possibly why he makes poor decisions in exchanges and gets caught in bad positions but he always finds a way to get out of them. He has the Dagestani Sambo base and has trained all over the world so is pretty well rounded. Also has an insane gas tank and never seems to tire out. Pantoja isn't the youngest and tends to take damage in his fights. Mokaev outlasts him over 5 rounds and maybe even gets a late sub. And tbh I don't see anyone in the current FLW division beating him. Taira is really good as an up an comer too. Those two guys are probably the future of that division.

Strickland C. I don't think he beats DDP. Nor does he matchup well with the top guys. Leon B. There's tough match ups but he's definitely better than I thought. Islam S. He made Olives look like he didn't even belong on the roster. There just isn't a matchup he doesn't have a massive advantage in. Volk S. No one at FW has shown they can hang. O'Malley A. Jones has been dragging out his retirement for over 3 years now. He looked like trash in his last few lightweight fights. Clearly kept up the booze and coke routine while “bulking up the right way” for two years only to show up looking like a sloppy, fatter and much older looking version of Jones. He knows he’s done and he’s picking Stipe to close out his career because he knows it’s a fight he can win, which will then let him claim “GOAT of the HW’s” by only having to fight 2 heavyweights and no fresh up and comers like Aspinol. Jones has been done for a few years now. No way he makes more than one fight in 2024. No way he fights past 2024 either
