In 20 years time and you feel like playing this. Would you really care if there was artwork so long as you have the cart? Preservation is the key for why most people collect. These nitpick that people put on these products are seriously overrated. As long as I have the physical content which allows me to beat the game(s) then that’s all that matters.

@@cbgg1585 There are different types of collectors. Some collect for the reason you mentioned, others collect to see the collection on the shelf, others collect to get a full set of a console. I've also had someone tell me that they buy games digitally and physically. For him it was all about the beautiful covers, he never wants to open and play them. Personally, I could not understand that either, but there is not only one point of view.

I fomo'ed the play Asia version. When I heard you could change the music to the original soundtracks I was sold. Us console players got the definitive version which is awesome and appreciated 😊. I almost always go for Play-Asia versions if I can't find the NA version. There's a lot of skepticism and whatnot, but I can just assure you: they are the exact same game in the language your console is set to. That's it. You want Grandia HD collection? You can either get the "Limited Run Games" edition for hundreds of dollars, or the Play-Asia one for like, $40.

Ordered the Play-Asia version. Now I'm a little glad the Square Enix Store version is sold out, otherwise I wouldn't have found the Play-Asia copy, which honestly just seems better. I much prefer it having inner artwork and the cleaner cartridge is nice. Probably won't have it for like a month but seems worth it. Never played these games before but I'm looking forward to checking them. Also not getting it for like a month gives me time to get into Tears of the Kingdom.

I truly appreciate this video. I decided to pull the trigger and buy the Asian version of the game. I hate the way SE decided to release the physical copy of this game in the west particularly the US with the whole limited SE store exclusive physical release that with the $25 shipping fee was $100 (more after tax) it made a release that should have been a delight and praised feel a scam and to see that the Asian version which much to my surprise can actually be purchased without having to search the after market is not only the same software wise but arguably better for the cover of the physical copy and less than $100 made me feel better about buying it and at some point getting to replay older FF games that I enjoy

Huh, cool to learn the Asia version for this game is basically like "world" versions of 3DS games where it's just the US game on a cart and put in a new box. Nice to have that confirmation after I recently learned the hard way that regional differences still exist in games even if the console is region unlocked. It was my first time buying a game from overseas and I thought I'd be fine buying a physical Japanese copy of Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star since everywhere I looked it said the game supported a handful of languages (including Japanese and English); you can imagine my surprise when I booted up the game and the only language offered--for both text and speech--is Japanese. Plus, to add insult to injury, I didn't know at the time that an Asia version (which offers all the languages the US one does for text and Japanese and English for speech (something not even the US version has IIRC)) would be coming out ~1 month later, lol.

Yep.. some people have argued in my comments that games will default to the region of the Switch... and while sure that can be true, its not true all the time. Ive had a similar thing you mention happen to me as well. So though many games will have multiple regions released, it doesnt mean they all have the same support for languages or updates etc.

I dunno which shipping option you used... but I am an impatient person and had 1 bad experience with their regular shipping some years back.. so whenever I order nowadays I just say screw it and pay for the more expensive shipping option. They use fedex for that and it shows up quick. I got my shipping notification then the next day it arrived... which was definitely a bit faster than usual. Lot of times it take a few days.

The Asia version is better due to the inside art. However, when comparing the Asia version and the Chinese version on PlayAsia, the Chinese version is even better because of the nicer back art (PlayAsia's twitter has a screenshot posted on 4/19). You see, the Chinese version has more space to highlight Celes, while the Asia version has a vertically squashed picture of her (although it includes a different picture of the Falcon as the intro for FF6). Also, a command window takes up a lot of space, making the moon partially obstructed by text. The same kind of goes for comparing Switch packages and PS4 packages. The back cover of PS4 packages has a vertically squashed picture of Celes (which makes it look like the logo of "FINAL FANTASY VI" sits right next to her) and the PS4's blue-colored package interferes with the inner art whereas the Switch packages have transparent cases. All in all, either the Chinese or Japanese Switch version has the best package design overall, mainly because of the inner art and the larger picture of Celes on the back cover. I gotta say the pixel remaster packing for the USA/EU edition, regardless of Switch or PS4, leaves something to be desired, namely: - No inner cover art - Vertically squashed picture of Celes on the back cover - No memorial ultimania book in the collector's edition, unlike the Japanese collector's edition EDIT: If you compare USA Switch packages and USA PS4 packages specifically, I'd say USA PS4 packages have better design because: - There is no inner cover art anyway, PS4's blue-colored packages won't get in the way - PS4 packages are horizontally wider than Switch packages, so text on the back won't obstruct the moon

@@supbro6505 Yes it does. Unfortunately, though, the Japanese Switch is currently available only in the Japanese collector's edition. And because of exclusiveness, I highly doubt it will be available on PlayAsia. The Chinese edition IS available on PlayAsia, though.

@@santostony8484 Chinese version definitely has the better back art. To be honest, if it didn't have the rating on the front, I'd go for it. I firmly believe age ratings should not be on the front of games, it just ruins the art. The German rating is absolutely disgusting to look at. Sorry for all the questions, I just have a couple more if you don't mind. Does the Chinese version have English support? I assume it does.

For the colors, I actually don't know since I don't own the Asia version. From a PlayAsia's twitter post on 4/19 where they compare the back covers for the Asia version and the Chinese version, it does look to me like the Chinese version is brighter (e.g. you can probably see the face of Level 5 Death in the Chinese version better than in the Asia version). So my guess is that USA/Japanese/Chinese have brighter colors than the Asia version.

It is great that the Switch have the same update file for different regions of the same game. I know that the PS3 and PS4 had different updates, DLC, and saves for the same game but different regions, at least from my experience. I do wish that both the sprites and font is larger in the pixel remaster.

Lol if it wasn’t for your video like last month or something saying it was sold out online but available through PlayAsia, I wouldn’t have pulled the trigger. I enjoyed 2 back when I played on it GBA. I like how the battle system was all based on experience. The more you do/use something in particular the better you get at that, similar to what Skyrim later did. This also works for leveling up your HP and MP though. The more damage you take, the more your HP levels up, and the more you consume/lose MP the more your MP levels up. You can even use spells to damage or drain MP from your own allies and it still counts.

If you put another region's game card in your switch it'll just play it as whatever region your switch is set to. So if you take a NTSC-U card and put in a NTSC-J console it'll play the game as if it were the Japanese version.

I’m not a big trophy hunter, but I’d make an exception as it seems so cool to see which trophies are available/platinum a collection that is absolutely massive. On the Switch hand, the art style practically begs to be played in a portable setting. Plus, my broke-ass only has two OLED screens in the house for prime viewing lol - Switch and iPhone. Ain’t no way I’m copping the app store versions, so likely Switch it is!

The physical is a limited production release. I doubt it will go on sale. Though if you just want it digitally, then sure. Steam or eshop sales will probably happen sooner or later

I’m still waiting for mine from Videogamesplus. They allowed more preorders than their received from their supplier. They sent the email on 4/19 about it and said they would send an update when they got more info. I’m still waiting for the update email.

Ok, now I'm pretty pleased about getting the Play Asia version.i kinda wish the colors were as bright as NTSC, but I like the other features that come with it. Those are cool. Maybe I'll pick up the NTSC version in the future if second hand isn't too expensive because the unusual E-T rating is very cool. I've never seen that before.

I can't understand why they did that either. Usually Square-Enix pays attention to minor detail. Seems they missed the boat on an already overpriced copy to add that inner artwork.

You should have uninstalled the game to check if there is a Day 1 patch for NA cartridge. Elsem the NA cartridge will just ride on the Asia cartridge Day 1 DLC patch.

You can tell by looking th back of the cartridge any patch pushed out the back of th cart will go from 000 to 001,002, etc. Th only Exemption to this is a different build on the cart. Example being pokemon sword and shield and zelda breath of the wild WITH dlc on the cartridge. Or if it's going to a region where something is being censored.

The Play Asia version had so much demand, they had like... 3 or 4 batches going on? I am on the third batch, and they'll ship it in the mid of May. That should tell S-E to not restrict they American physical releases just because 🙄

Well the best thing about the Asia versions back then was for most Japanese games that would of been Japanese only but the Asia versions would still have Japanese audio but you would have your selection on the text type you'd want like with Super Robot Wars T the OG version is everything is in Japanese but the Asia version you get English text so you can understand the story and what you'd have to do.
