The odd thing about Twilight Zone episodes is how some of the themes keep recurring in our lives. I was about 14 yrs old and listening to my parents argue viciously with each other when The Trade-Ins (S3-E31) -- the episode with the elderly couple trying to purchase new bodies for themselves -- first came on. The husband and wife were willing to sacrifice themselves so the person they loved most would have a new, pain-free life in a beautiful young body. By the ending I was sobbing, and swore I'd find someone I could have that kind of relationship with. As one of Serling's "sentimentalists among us", I kept that vow and never regretted making it.

Yo! I was listening so I didn’t see The Twilight Zone on the page. However, that was great! I appreciate the updated version of the fckd up flight. Too often the reboot is almost identical (which is boring), they modernize the clothes & tech but still…. And sometimes they don’t even do that, they just let us know it’s 1988 (or whenever so they don’t have to explain modern tech). The other thing they do is take the new stories so far off from the original that it’s really a whole new thing. But they wanna capitalize on nostalgia so they use the name we know & love. THIS WAS PERFECT! The recap did this justice. It was the combo of the work and the recap and I’m so glad I was here for it…. Lucky too bc I cldv chose different or my auto play cldv chose different.
