Rudders on P-51's were slightly offset to port to offset the engine torque without needing to constantly trim the rudder.

On the P-51D it was only 1 degree, other aircraft had a lot more - like the Corsair, which was 6 degrees. Even things like Cessna 172s have it, and in something like that with no rudder trim it's set to counter the effect of the propellor at cruise speed and rpm so that you don't have to fly holding constant rudder pressure.

the "pyjama tail" skin actually has an interesting story to it i was lucky enough to work on that exact plane at tyabb airfield a few years ago its a 3 sqn raaf mustang & back then when mustangs were coming into the war, the aussies were flying english mustangs among english squadrons. to differentiate 3 sqn raaf from the english they painted the tail royal blue and put a southern cross on it (hence the stars on a royal blue rudder) nice review - i will likely pick it up anyway

5:00 I think it is a built in adjustment to many single engine propeller driven aircraft, to balance out the rotating effect the turning propeller has on the air passing around the fuselage. It is also quite visible on the F4U-4 and A7M if I am not mistaken.

A lot of planes that are near-useless or underpowered in ARB become really good in Sim due to the way the matches are set up. From my experience, if you fly a P-47 in ARB, you'll have a hard time being able to BnZ people due to half the enemy team climbing twice as fast as you and being 1.5km above you when the fighting starts. In Sim, you can actually take your time to get up to optimal altitude and use the few advantages you have without getting annihilated by a Bf 109 with an insane climb rate. It's a similar situation with ground pounders, as you can actually ground pound with a much lower risk of being picked off by a fighter.

@@slickdaddycc7506 Gaijin has an habit of releaisng amaizng gamemodes for a limited amount fo time and then never bringing them back again, Air RB EC was one of those modes that everyone loved. Overall, people really want some mode that is coop PvE but the catch is that gaijin wants the oposite (only short team deathmatch battles) and went as far as nerfing rewards from everything that isnt pvp for as much as 66%.

The only way that I can see these aircrafts useful is if you are beginning to grind the U.S Tech Tree for the the very first time (Like, you already grinded other tech trees beforehand) and you don´t want to deal with the hazzle of starting off from the get go with the first Ranks. In that case, the P-51D 10 would be the best option.

I absolutely love my P-47M, I have owned it for probably 8 years now and it's something that I adore flying. Dogfighting BF109K-4s and Ta152s is a really rewarding situation because those players usually climb and when I get into an engagement at high altitude it feels powerful against the K-4 and it feels challenging but maneuverable against the Ta152, really comes down to the pilots. However, DEFYN is absolutely correct, the game never takes place at 7km these days. Matches are forced to end quickly with AI bleeding tickets and dogfights rarely last longer than two or three turns. While I will die on the hill that this is a super prop with a nasty airbrake and a unique look, it is just not reflected well in the current meta.

The thing for me why i will get this pack, is because i really want the P-51D-10. Getting enough GE for it will cost me 25€. The entire pack will cost me 27. That's the P-51D-10 for the same price, and the P-47M (while arguably worse than the P-47D-28 in terms of performance vs BR) is like 2€ in my eyes. Yes i only want the P-51, but the pack with the P-47M included is only 2-3€ more than just getting the 51D-10, so might as well

I think that P-47M is great and quite worthy. It is P-47 so it already guarantees you heavy punching power, and airbrake feature makes speed control easier. I made plenty of SL with this one, and I still love it.

I love the p47 m i bought it years ago as a scrub, i still suck but it taught me how to play bnz and how important having energy is. Id say the real dkwnfall of the M isnt the plane but the fellow players you wind up with, you know its going to a bad time when all your team mates in american planes dont climb and proceed to turn fight the nips.

I love the P-47M but I noticed gaijin gave it a min fuel of 30mins+ compared to the 22mins previously. Which sucks since i like to have an ability to dogfight/pull and it's basically a lost if I'm given a small map

I still think with reduced match times, p47m could get its air spawn back or maybe an attacker spawn... when games were 45 mins it didnt need the airspawn tbh, i dont think itd hurt now. but idk am not the greatest at the game

The P47M isn’t meta but it is a lot of fun if you like the p47’s because it has an airbrake. You’re essentially a monkey if you don’t hit every single boom pass you make. I like the lighter weight as well.

I have both of these. The P-47M is good but it’s hopelessly off meta. Basically useless in air RB. The D10 is a dream, but its rudder is infuriating. Also 50 calls feel like garbage these days. It feels like it takes a miracle to set a fire.

Slightly. The D-10 is slightly better than the C to roughly the same degree that the D-30 is slightly better than the D-10. The three aircraft should be 4.3, 4.7 and 5.0.

One of my most played planes is the F4UB, even after getting to 10.0-10.3 in many nations, I would buy this, the p51 is worth it… HOWEVER, I won’t. And I don’t recommend anyone does, because US teams are so fucking stupid, if your competent, every match will be a carry. And you won’t want to carry every match. No one wants to. I love US planes, have insane K/Ds in them, and so many videos of Carry’s, but it is so tiring to play them..just due to the players your matched with. It’s pathetic tbh
