Yes, that park is actually ‘The Huntington Library’ in San Marino, next to Pasadena, California. The Park is actually not only a park, but a museum. It does have different gardens and it has a few shops. In the museum, at least the last time I was there, it had the original ‘Blue Boy’ painting, and also one of my favorites, ‘Miss Pinky’ painting. The art gallery has many more paintings as well. In the video when they walk on the bridge, the bridge is part of The Japanese Gardens. That place is historic and when the Carpenters were there performing the song - it was in 1975, I believe. Good memories 😊

@@WhimsyMeadows I don’t know where you live, but it may be a good idea to call the place first. Right now, the Los Angeles area is suffering from fires augmented by the Santa Ana Winds, AKA ‘Devil Winds’. Thank you 🙏🏻 for reading my comments to your reaction to the Carpenters. I enjoy many female vocalists, but Karen’s voice somehow reaches deeper than the others. Richard’s remarkable arrangements have a way of center-staging’s Karen’s voice. Thank you 🙏🏻 again. I hope you do visit the museum 😊

Great reaction Whimsy! Karen could sing the phone book and I'd be there for it!! Her voice is such a soothing balm. It's like satin soaked in butter - that's how smooth it is! She was taken far, FAR too soon! Such a talent - her voice AND her drumming!! Cheers from Canada, eh!

@@WhimsyMeadows Voice of an angel before she became an angel...many considered her the very talented "girl next door" type, bu it has been written in the frustration of being famous and hard working, and stupid critics who only wanted rock and roll.....she could also swear like a sailor hahhahaha

the ultimate vocalist (not just a singer) who sang TO US NOT AT US!....a master storyteller who knew the song and lyrics was for us, and her voice was the vessel. Today's "singers" think it's about THEM and quote "what they can do"...

This is one of their BEST records, I love the sax and guitar solo in th middle to take a musical break from the vocals and connect the song smoothly into the next verse. Especially the guitar on the second phrase...it sounds so grandiose...they both look really tired in this video though, from all the hard work in the studio and on the road. Like "Why the hell are we doing this? I don't wanna be here., I'm so tired..."

I'm a retired music teacher who sings in the senior homes, over 200 1 hour shows a year. I just sang THIS song only yesterday...no kidding, but great way to use a pun. I was actually a band director but love to sing, play guitar with back up music, much it produced by myself for something to do. In case you don't know...Karen was also a hell of a percussionist, not just a "drummer." Also she and Richard sang ALL the harmonies on ther records, and their touring band had to learn all the parts for live shows, made it sound real close to the records. Karen was my big crush when I was 14 in 1970 when they became famous. I can still hear myself in Junior High muttering "If I was only 6 years older I'd have a chance."😂 I cried when she died 41 years ago. Karen would have been 75 in March this year. Yes, that makes me 32...lol.

Note: They did NOT have music videos to sell the records back in those days, it was not necessary - we listened more intently to new song on the radio with our ears and NOT our eyes. This is some kind of promo film they used, maybe for a TV show they could not personally attend. But it's nice to see the two of them together [brother and sister]. Karen had already lost a lot of weight she did NOT need to lose here, sad.
