I am so happy you are playing this part of the story. It is heartbreaking to see how the death of the Boss still haunts him. At the beginning, one could see a Big Boss morally in shambles, like a living corpse trying to make reality what he thinks was the Boss goal and dream, soldiers without borders. Would he be able to get closure? would he be able to put himself together and work through pain to help Paz? When you are done a very nice thing to see is a youtube video called * Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Music Video 'Heavens Divide' *. Beautiful.

Archery with Longbows was strictly an English thing and if any English archers were caught by the French, their fingers would be cut off to prevent them using a bow ever again. Lets goooo. The art style is Yoji Shinkawa's. You have seen his art style since MGS1 in all the promotional material, box arts, main menus. Yes the auto assign function works really well. And you don't have to worry about how much stuff costs. You almost will always have more GMP. The radio is via L1 I think during gameplay (check controls). Thats how its going to be from here on out. You can press it anytime for a short info about your mission, place, or whatever you are zooming on in latter games. So yeah the lengthy codec calls are replaced by the Briefing tapes. Make sure to check them all out as some of them are really important. During some missions, using the L1 radio call will prompt some short funny easter eggs. 1:35:50 The reverse peace sign for the brits is a vulgar sign meaning "up yours". Just tune in to any football match in the English premiere league and watch the fans throw it around lol. His S scar is self inflicted. Not shown to us when he did it. Great video as always.✌🏼

A lot of people hates some much on Peace Walker, but i personally think is one of the most underrated mgs game for sure, and is miles away better from MGSV plotwise speaking. It also build the fundamentals of MGSV´s great gameplay. I would actuallly love to see this game remade with modern graphics! You will have a great time with this game for sure Whimsy. I´ll be looking forward for this videos.

Once you reach the "end" you need to keep playing some search and capture missions to unlock the true ending. That's crucial because the true ending is from where Ground Zeroes starts. Keep enjoying this amazing universe sweetheart.

There's so much content. I usually play these on the tv in the background while I'm doing my chores, and I'm reminded of my grandparents listening to radio plays ❤ Good game, chill commentary, while cleaning, drinking coffee, eating bread, telling my kids to try their hardest not to make a mess or hurt themselves 😆 Man, just good vibes all around. I'm still amazed this is a PSP game. Back in 2010, holding in this little device a full Metal Gear Solid console experience (with some limitations, of course, like no joystick for the camera) and a full blown God of War game was just incredible. This and MGS4 were my first MGS games, too. Very confusing times for me lol

Good call playing this, as this is canon to the story. Gameplay wise it's a bit different from the other games, and Metal Gear Solid V has some elements from it. Portable Ops has some Frank Jaeger (Gray Fox) lore in there but I don't remember that much from it. The name 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

I hope you have plenty of fun with the Outer Ops. They're easy to ignore or speed through, but my friend and I had a great time building our own narrative around the sorties and the continuing sagas of our Outer Ops units. Reading their bios and stats to come up with their individual motivations and personalities-it was a super fun way to amplify the connection with the MSF crew. =D

You can access the codec in the pause menu or you can make it replace the auto-aim button! It's not the same as the ones in the previous games though, it's much more quicker

1:40:02 that's probably a fake scar, there is a technique about hide a wire saw under the skin to use it to saw metal bars if you go to jail. Maybe Big Boss made it in The Boss scar shape just as a reference!

You're totally ignoring what happened in the San Hieronymo Peninsula. Then again, so do most people. There's one more game between this and MGS3, more or less canonical, called MGS Portable Ops. But since it was not directed by Kojima, him only being the producer, he has said it's only partly canon. So far, it has only been available for the PSP, while Peace Walker was ported for the collection, for other systems. Portable Ops introduced the recruiting system, but you had to drag the enemies to pick up points, instead of the easier Fulton system. Also, the controls were pretty awkward for the PSP, but they were simplified for Peace Walker. That game also introduced a younger version of Campbell and similarly to Peace Walker, had drawn cut scenes.

They made the game "easier" because it was originally developed for the Playstation Portable (PSP). They didn't want the player to twist his Fingers into a Pretzel, and possibly drop the precious Handheld.😉 That is also the reason why the missions are shorter, because you could be commuting / to save battery charge.

Do you remember the ammount of buttons one had to press in MGS2, to get in First Person Mode, get on your toes, draw your gun, aim at the bomb-sensors, and shoot. Impressive stuff. But on a Handheld, better not. Also the distance at which you could be spotted was reduced.

A little fun fact: This game and the Portable Ops games use the same engine that Capcom used on their 3rd generation of portable Monster Hunter games. In Portable 3rd, you can actually unlock outfits of Boss and Snake. Fantastic game. Interestingly close to my own life, as my own family on my mother's side was involved with helping the Nicaraguans fight against the communists in the late 80's in conflicts that stemmed from the same CIA/KGB proxy conflicts that set the backdrop for Peace Walker.
