Please don't feel pressured to rush through the main quests and explore as much as you want. I'm 55 hours in and barely made it halfway through the main storyline, I think that's the way this game is meant to be played. Just subscribed btw :) Looking forward to the next part :)

In the books, Dumbledore cast Petrificus Totalus on Harry instead of telling him to hide downstairs. And when Dumbledore died, the spell lifted and that told Harry that Dumbledore was really gone. Just a major difference from the movie but nonetheless, your knowledge of wizarding lore is amazing :)

I played this game on Hard and never looked back. A few things are different, such as minigames are harder, enemies hit harder etc. But also mechanically a few things too, such as Stupefy does not break shields on Hard, but it does on all the lowers, plus the circle on your head for blocking/parrying is way faster. I really loved Hard difficulty, it didn't make all the enemies tanky bullet sponges, it just made the mechanics harder and more timing precise, making it a difficulty that requires you to have good skill rather than spend most of your time slapping enemies with huge health bars.

I agree 100%, I really like it on Hard so far. I was struggling a bit during duelling but I'm getting much better now that I understand how everything works and how the shield disappear after some time, but are still there. Pretty sure that's a 'hard' mode thing too! I see what you mean about tanky bullet sponges, a lot of games do that and it feels like a 'fake' difficulty. God of War 2018 and also Ragnarök are a bit like that in my opinion.

@@WhimsyPsyche I often call things like that "artificial difficulty", things like bosses with loads of small ADD's or just making the player do 50% less damage so the fights just feel so long and sluggish. I love games that mechanically make an effort with difficulty, making parry timings smaller, or enemies attacking faster or quicker or being more aggressive etc. Bullet sponge difficulties are no fun, and this game really impressed me with its difficulty changes.

Exactly!! A good example of both these mechanics for me is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Don't know if you've played? But if you play Charmless (giving back an item to an NPC), it makes you get chip damage if you only block instead of perfect parrying, which I LOVE (and also makes enemies stronger), but then there's also Demon Bell, which if you ring it, it simply makes all enemies stronger, and that's it, nothing more, which I thought was so unnecessary and just made fights longer, exactly like you explained! Also the two stacks up with one another, so when I did Charmless + Demon Bell, it felt like the fights were just never ending 😅

Hi, loving your knowledge and lore, in your 1st video you talked about boys going to girls common rooms, you a right if you play as a male and try to access girls common room, the stairs will chang to a slide. In this video you asked about how to get more gear slots, complete merlin trials to increase capacity , one more thing you are completing challenges but you do not get the reward until you go into the challenge section and manually collect them keep up the great work, living it so far, have stopped playing my game to watch your playthrough !

Remember that Snape did not kill Dumbledore he basically blasted him off the tower. He was still alive until he hit the ground, that's when The Binding curse broke from harry. You have to really want to kill somebody for the killing curse to work he basically just blasted him off the tower.

Harry being under the platform was only in the movie. In the book version Harry was under his invisibility cloak and Dumbledore froze him as Malfoy came in through the door and Harry fell back against the wall by the door and could still see what was going on. It made it better because he had to watch all that happening but could do nothing. Nobody even knew he was there. In the movie Snape sees him and motions him to be quiet. In the book when Dumbledore dies the spell he put on Harry ends and he stuns a Deatheater and chases after Snape. It’s all very different in the books from how the movie is. Plus the Astronomy tower is supposed to look down on the front door and also have a clear view of Hagrid’s house as described in Order of the Phoenix. But this is the film castle so it’s all different. Sorry I really nerded out just then.

Yeess true! Sorry for the misunderstanding. I should've said movie lore! In the movie it looks exactly like that though, it's so cool. I wouldn't say the whole castle is like the movies though. Some parts are like the books, like the Gryffindor common room (and its access), among other things. But yeah the Astronomy tower is def like the movies, you're right!

Very true. It is a mix. I watched a video where someone compared the movie version to the game and it was very interesting. But the exterior is very very close to the film version although even the film version changes over the course of the films. There’s a video about that too. Also how they came up with the Hogwarts design for the films is very interesting. The miniature they made for filming is incredible.

About the doors with the numbers and the animal symbols, I think you have to role the animal symbols on the wall to march the exact number on the door, and each animal represents a number, the owl is 0, the horse is 1, and it goes like that

To be honest I dont think your first reaction to Peeves would have been as priceless as your reaction to opening the World Map after talking about maybe taking another 2 or 3 videos to finish the game like a minute earlier 😹 There are actually mad that the world area is to damned biig and to damned accurate.....almost if it was made by a bunch of potterheads,which it was(the kind of people that would complain their feet dont touch the ground when given a pile of gold to sit on)😹 Funniest complaning nitpicker so far(who's probably a speed runner type) was complaining it took 30 hours just to complete the main storyline because of having to go to Class and complete the the Professor Assignments and mandatory side quests(How dare They)😹 And they are talking DLC expansions so as big as the world is now. Oh and the PC version already has Mods piping up for improving visuals, GPU and fps performance, dressing like Spiderman,flying on a Shrek shaped broom,et. so its probably sticking around like Skyrim😏

I like your choice of cloths though not from the hot aspect ( though it is) This lady landed in a peck of trouble that quite obviously will get worse. Many fight or die times that needs an outfit that lets the body move. Watching the characters in fights or running around forests in robes and skirts just looks silly.

Whilst I personally love Sirona’s character, there are valid issues some trans folks have with how she is represented. Some game devs have apparently said her inclusion was performative and/or rather last minute to try to reduce the controversy. .. I understand the reasons some question the motives behind her inclusion and, although I love the name Sirona in general, having Sir in her first name and Ryan (a typically masc name, especially in the UK) as her surname is thoughtless. Giving her a nickname would literally make her Sir Ryan…. Not very considerate for a trans character. So, despite being glad to see her, I won’t say there wasn’t transphobia or ignorance included in her creation :/ .. Loved your exploration gameplay, though!

According to her wikia page, Sirona is the name of a celtic goddess of healing associated with healing springs. It was weird for me to hear her with a man's voice because in the french version, she has a female voice

I'm currently watching you buy clothes from the shop in hogsmeade after defeating the troll and I'm a bit confused. You were doing so well, exploring and finding chests and moths for the empty pictures and your fight against the troll was incredible (I've never seen someone play that scene and come out unharmed), but then it's like part of your brain switched off while you were buying clothes. I'm not sure why it took you so long to figure out that you had to buy the free item first and try it on before you could buy other items. I must admit that it was frustrating watching ask why the better clothes were unavailable. If that is your only hiccup in this video, I'm more than willing to forgive and forget. It was just a shock to see you go from such an impressive display of game playing to all of a sudden on the level of most of the players I've seen play this game on KZbin. I hope you don't get offended by my comment, but if you do, I apologize. I just needed to get that off my chest.

Hahaha don't worry I'm not offended at all! It's very easy though: it was dumb of the game to do that in my opinion. Why not make everything available from the start and let me discover? The handholding is quite heavy at times in this game, which is not something I appreciate. I was just rebelling because I did not want that robe (which I already had, just a bit dirtier). I hope that clears it up a little bit! Also, this is a first playthrough. I'm not perfect. Did YOU get everything right all the time the first time you played this? Keep in mind I'm also recording and have to make it somewhat entertaining, which takes a lot of energy and we might miss things we wouldn't have missed if we were playing without filming (I say we because that's the case of ALL let's players. You mentioned others, so I hope you can be more tolerant with them as well). I'm saying this now because you'll for sure see other things that are not perfect from me, I just want to save you the frustration and heartache 🤣 Thank you for watching~ (Edit for typos and clarification!)

I don't expect you to be perfect, though you're certainly the best player I've seen play Hogwarts Legacy, first time or not. As far as other players are concerned, I expect a certain amount of mistake making from people, especially when playing a new game, but only with certain things. I've seen some players make the same mistake over and over again, not because of the fact that the game is new or even that they may have never played a video game before, but because they're too distracted with other things outside of the game like the chat in the chat room. I never had that issue watching you.

In a world where magic is real and transformation exists, it is unreal that a person who wants to change gender cannot do so without changing their voice as well. It's stupid and makes no sense. There is no scarf for linking accounts, you might be thinking of the scarf you get from the Tier 1 challenge of doing assignments, which is your house scarf with the crest on it. Linking your account gives you the fan-atic robes and the beak mask only.

I'm sorry but you saw gryffindor tower. 3 rooms for the boys 4 for the girls. The boys don't even have a bathroom and the closest one in the castle 3 floors down is out of order. No reason they couldn't make more dorms as there is empty space in the tower above and below the boys dorms. Not to mention this castle has no internal secret passages. Book lore was seriously underrepresented

I disagree. I would say the movie lore is probably more prominent, but book lore is certainly not underrepresented. Barnabas the Barmy is book lore. The prefect's bathrooms is practically line for line like the book. The first year's arrival under the castle is book lore. Even how you get to the Gryffindor common room is book lore as well, and I'm missing out a lot here but you get the idea. I'm quite happy personally! I agree though that the interior design of the Gryffindor dorms is weird af, I don't know what they were thinking hahaha
