The final day of my solo trip was used to go up Whin Rigg and Illgill Head bringing my total to 7 wainwrights for my 2023 October trip. Whilst doing this circular walk it took me through Miterdale forest where I had a navigational nightmare due to my phone deleting the route and having no signal to load the map, meaning I had to resort to navigating with 1 half of a 1:50,000 paper map I'd printed off previously, I eventually made it back onto my route and safely back to the pub for a finish up drink.
On this walk I also gave Paddling in a wild body of water a go as it was recommend to me by someone also staying at the YHA to give it a go, whilst I wasn't brave enough to wild swim.... I did have a small play around up to my knees.
A cracking circular hike that incorporates 2 Wainwrights, a beautiful Tarn and the amazing Miterdale Forest I would recommend this to anybody that finds themselves in the area.
