Hi Al, this IS by far the best video you have done. You always pick the right places to go and in weather conditions that add to the excitment and joy of the trip. The clarity of the picture and audio is just "top notch" and the quility of the editiing so professional. I feel as if I am there with you. If this video doesn't help you with the award then I don't know what will!. Both your's and Blue's love of each other and appreciation of the outdoors is just amazing. The only other thing to say is "what no beer?"

Sweet memories for me Al. A few Decembers ago two mates and I had a wander up Grisedale Beck to look for Hard Tarn. Bumped into Alan Hinkes who lead us up Nethermost Pike East Ridge. The closest I've ever been to being crag fast. Anyway, Alan descended down Striding Edge and we carried onto Helvellyn summit. It was that cold I managed 11 pictures if I remember rightly, before the gloves had to go back on. We descended Swirral Edge and along the bottom of Red Tarn and through the Hole in the Wall then down back into Patterdale. What an adventure and thank you for bringing back the memories. Thank you. Give Blue a hug from me. :)

@@BUSHMANandBLUE I have watched your and many others videos for some time now, honestly i dont enjoy so much the walking back for the camera part any more, especially when you tell us you climbed up twice, its obvious you have to do that, and it doesnt add to the continuity/flow of the video. I did this climb as a complete novice about 14yrs ago , luckily with a D of E friend for company. Same route as you . And whilst I took photos to show my wife , they came nowhere near capturing reality. Your vid here is the nearest thing to reality and my wife could not believe I walked over Striding Edge and was continually exclaiming " Oh my God ! " . Thank you for your superb vid of Helvellyn , giving me the pleasure of seeing what I actually did and my wife also 👍. Incidentally , we set out at 6am and got the walk and mountain to ourselves all the way . We reached the summit and could see the crowds coming in the distance . We had 20mins of great views ( it was in May ) before cloud descended and rain set in for the whole descent. Great memories 😊

Nice 1 Al . Another brilliant camp in the mountains . Helvellyns a beautiful mountain - My favourite mountain . Me & Andrea spent my 50th atop it , drinking coffee and eating Birthday cake , chatting with walkers out enjoying the best the lakes has . Apparently more people climb Helvellyn compared to any other mountain to watch the sun come up - hence its AKA 'Sunrise Mountain' . The tent shots in the morning , and Blue doing Blue were great . It doesn't get much better does it . I can 100% recommend the 'Sausage sandwiches' mate at the cafe at the Visitor Centre car park in Glenridding (If memory serves me right its called Fell Bites) - BEST i've had in the Lakes . Merry Christmas Al , and all the very best to you and yours for 2023 .

Just finished watching this after I finished work , thank you for sharing such a fantastic video, looked an absolutely awesome day and night there , this place is so special for me personally along with blencathra , my dad died last year and instead of moping about I decided to get out and get into the mountains which my dad loved doing , blencathra he was meant to do blencathra via sharp edge but was snowed off it and he never got a chance to go back so when he died I went and finished the climb for him , as for this 1 , my friends persuaded me to go to this 1 to distract me from my grieving , this was actually the 2nd time over stridingedge but sadly I suffered from vertigo and didn't complete helvellyn, this time I did get back , March 2021 I think just 2 months after I lost dad , I breezed stridingeedge but I suffered a bit on the last scramble to the top, was mentally and physically drained , I'm sure my dad helped me with that last push to the top and WOW!! those views!! Freezing cold day but not a cloud in the sky , perfect, I videoed it, its on my channel somewhere , feel free to take a peek , not as awesome as yours but not too bad , thanks again for sharing its brought back some great memories of my climb there , sorry for the long comment 😄

Fantastic, we had a border collie just like Blue, and same mannerisms. You have taken us right back to that time walking him on the Fells with him. Thank you John & Janet

Been watching your videos for about a year now and by a country mile your's are the best around. I was an avid fell walker for 30 years with my various collies prior to moving to North Norfolk, your videos inspire me to brave the 5 hour drive to get up there again with my latest year old collie. Please keep up the good work, you're a legend.

Brilliant Nigel thank you. I best try keep that number one position 😬. Collies are the best! I’ve stayed in sherringham a few times so explored a lot of the coast👌
