Can we take a moment to appreciate that this playstyle is an option? It ain't perfect but the game isn't utterly useless either.

The biggest annoyance when playing like this, especially with the infants; is one adult sim will continuously put an infant in the crib and take it back out again over and over, and it won't stop. I even turned off full autonomy for sims and they keep doing it. They'll even cancel any command or action to keep an infant in and out of a crib. It drives me crazy. I've had to delete cribs to get the sim out of the room, lock the door, and let another sim take over once I put back the crib

If you use mods, there's a mod called "smarter baby care" by scumbumbo, it doesn't change much just fixes the the sims automatic actions/care etc

Sometimes I wonder how yalls games are so broken. I see this sometimes from other ppl about just other sims things in general and I guess I have had the best play with it since I dont run into any of this (which is really weird bc I have SO MANY MODS and its all on a laptop). I DID have a little bug tho where sims would get out of bed and they would cancel out everything Was a REALLY easy fix tho. Just wither a, reset sim, or b, go to build/buy, delete the bed, go into play mode, and its fixed

There’s a delay autonomy mod if you are into mods. Doesn’t turn autonomy off but gives it a time based delay based on which sim you are controlling. So they will exclusively listen to you until they are left alone for a set amount of time, then autonomy kicks back in. I don’t always get the pick up/put down loop but when I do it is annoying and this helps cause I am usually swapping between both parents anyway so the delay means the double parent trigger is less likely to occur.

I thought my husband had changed our baby's diaper and fed her because he was playing peek-a-boo. He changed her diaper. And then didn't feed her. The baby was taken away for neglect because my husband played peek-a-boo instead of feeding her. I divorced him.

You can check their profile from the sim you are in to learn their quirks. Seems realistic for a parent to know the kid's quirks.

you have to change the babys diaper first and then do a bath. the sims team needs to fix it but yeah if you dont then the game just puts the dirty diaper back on.

Here's a video idea I just thought of (you'll need to increase the household maximum to 11 with MCCC). It's a sort of "Can I survive a week with every type of life state?" challenge. Not sure if life state is the right word but we'll use it in this example... 1 Elder 1 Adult 1 Young Adult 1 Teen 1 Child 1 Toddler 1 Infant 1 Baby 1 Dog 1 Cat 1 Horse 1 Rodent 1 Bee Box 1 Insect Farm 1 Plant (Cowplant for fun, but could be a simple apple tree or flower) 1 Cow or Llama 1 Chicken 1 Sheep or Goat

I have real life for realisim, give me my needs bars. I also find having the toddler ask for food has more success than telling the adult to give toddler food as if the toddler has Anything qued up, it will freeze the parent until they are done which is already not realistic. These are pixelated robotic AI afterall. i need all my tools to manage them.

as someone who loves writing books in the sims 4. yes too ambitious trust me ive tried XD u need like 1 nanny , 1 butler and youre still sometimes not going to hit 1 book a day. u have to breathe eat sleep books! sometimes you will do 1 book a day though. i believe in u!

i wish the game would let you play this way without having to restrict yourself, but the AI is just too stupid! If they do something egregious (like autonomously deciding to nap in a hot tub instead of going to sleep in a bed...) it just gets too frustrating, but if Project Rene does the AI well enough that you can feel happy only controlling a limited number of sims that would be such a leap forward!
