@@vladcrow4225 not really, she has a translator that can shout stuff for her and most of the army seems to be able to communicate in sign language which already saved a soldiers life. It's also a good strategy so that others don't know what you're discussing in a hostile situation. And to top it all off Amaya is pretty smart. I'd honestly rather follow her then some idiot who has a loud voice.

I'm guessing that the elfs weren't actually trying to hurt her and were instead doing some kind of traditional dance from their culture. Perhaps the culture clash between humans and elfs will be one of the conflicts of this season.

I think personally, someone else said it was a Sunfire Elf Engagement Ritual. Not an attack, so the "Whips" they used were likely not actual weapons at all but ritual prompts. And the fire on them was magical fire made for show. Fire that doesn't burn or hurt whoever touches it. So that would explain why she could touch the fire the way she did

To be honest, I kinda wish that they didn't make Amaya+Janai the canon relationship for either, especially for Amaya. While I can get them wanting to add lgbt representation, and wanting to have more human+elf relationships, I will be blunt in saying that this really kinda undermines Gren as a character. He was Amaya's translator for so long, being with her during her first appearance, which given the nature of his job almost certainly means that he and Amaya were close, which is suggested in several of their scenes together. Amaya and Janai definitely were cool together in Seasons 2 and 3, going from enemies to allies over time as events unfold, but they could've just been friends. If they wanted to do this right, they should've given it more time to develop and give a reason as to why Amaya and Gren aren't together, that way it doesn't come out of nowhere and resolves things with Gren since he had more screen time with Amaya and knew her directly way longer.

@@Brightshark400_ Yeah, but there's never anything to suggest that Amaya and Gren are just friends/coworkers, so it seemed like they were pushing towards them being together since they already had a special relationship as mute and interpreter. Meanwhile, Amaya and Janai haven't had enough screentime to truly push their arc together beyond just going from enemies to allies/friends, leaving the timeskip to create what feels like a very rushed marriage out of nowhere with no proper development towards it.

So apparently Sunfire elves get dancers to serenade their lover and then propuse when they wanna get married. The three didn’t seem to be attacking Amaya and acctually seemed to be on sync with eachother and didn’t lash their weapons on her,even when Amaya fought back.
