WHIPPING IN BLOODHOUNDS | Riding a new horse 👀 | Footluce Eventing

Hi everyone, welcome to my channel and to this week's vlog! This week, we're out on hound exercise again with the Nar Valley Bloodhounds, however this time I've been roped into whipping in, and was given a lovely horse to ride, Elliot.

Thank you Lucy! I like learning something new. Never been bloodhounding. I confess to being nervous with the dogs off leash with cars and roads nearby but see how well they stay together and listen to commands and the Whipping-In person protects them in an important way.

Wow! That was great! Loved your over dub explaining....alot! Learned a lot! Enjoyed learning about the traditional manners of a hunt vs hound exercise. Just all of it. The combination of you & Elliot seemed perfect for the job. Charlie is such a cutie! Of coarse, always, the beautiful bloodhounds were wonderful to watch. Actually, ride with thx to GoPro! Loved to come along with the hounds lucy! And elliot was great! I'm always amazed how you are allowed to ride on all those fields, so nice! Where i live we pretty much always have to stick to the lanes and tracks that are already there. The farmers are very particular about that.

I have been out with the hounds a lot and it is sooo much fun for sum reason I like it when we go through gates and have to shout GATE PLEASE 😂 I try to shout really loud!!! Loved the vid!!

in nz, the Huntsman n whipper-ins are with the hounds...n the Master controls the field of riders who must keep a distance back from the hounds so as not to interfere with the hounds working. it sounds odd that your Hunstman is the Master....different traditions?

We have two types of master, huntsman which is with the hounds and whipper-ins and field masters which controls the field aka the riders xx
