Good to see you well Al. You should have replaced the resonator with an X-pipe while you had your exhaust out. I think you'd love the sound as I did. Love the cat outtakes btw. Nothing better than a furry friend. Stay safe!

@@coyotecarguy2076 I almost bought one off a wrecked gt350. Its more for the road course people. They heat those little rear diffs like crazy. Get the xpipe. First thing I bought on my whipple. Kept the stock mufflers and am very happy. Car breathes better to. $110. If your gonna drag Al, you have to address the exhaust sooner or later take some more 10th's off. Nice to see it Al, I went to one of the modern 1200hp 6 pinion torsens in my 1200hp 67 Camaro....and my god did it make it easier to steer under power than locker or clutch.... I was thinking early on id get a torsen for the on V Raptor when I had trouble staying straight ( thinking one side was putting down more than other and looking back on how torsen smoothed out the 67) but then I read " they suck for drag racing" with S550. Now I certainly don't want you to break but I'm super stoked you went to one and will be going to track like many other things you've tested for us....I dont feel you get enoufb credit for the information you've helped new guys to s550 out with by doing it
@coyotecarguy2076
@coyotecarguy2076 4 жыл бұрын
BlueCollarDaily .. .Thanks Bud! I have been told that the torsen is not good for drag racing due to the way it distributes power to the wheels. . . but i have a few friends that drag race PP1 cars with torsen's and i am not hearing any problems. This rear had 800 miles on it. . i couldn't pass it up.. .

@@coyotecarguy2076 I wouldn't either but im so confused can't wait till you get it out there....when I went to high HP torsen on my 67 it locks both wheels perfectly its impossible for one to not put down exactly the same power as the other literally...and will go around corners without any "ratcheting" like my locker....it instantly made my car ( 1200hp) more stable...as you seen with your rear end CLUTCHES are what can put more out on one tire than the other not a torsen, i just figured maybe they are weaker on s550 or something? One thing for sure if you like i love it...if it holds your car it will hold mine and when I have trouble with my clutches, I'll go to one as well

PRO 5.0 .. . Thanks for posting Bud! Yes even though chadi said the cast iron diff seemed lighter . obviously it is not. ... even though 3.55's are not optimal for my car, they are close. .. general consensus is that 3.15's are to tall for my combo as i am not making enough power. .. .3.31's would be optimal. . taller tires with my 3.55' will get me there. .. also considering i run 1/8th mile a lot the 3.55's are a good gear for that. not looking to make more power any time soon. . besides the diff i got was bolt in . . with 800 miles on it i saw it as my best option . .

Hello Al, Good to see all is well and happy Easter. But I wanted to ask. Didn't you have to have your tuner do some chances to the tune, considering the new rear end has a different ratio? Also you should have used oppertunity when it was on the lift to add some cat delete pipes, cause you are now both new running the stage 2 hardware and don't have to worry with inspection in Florida

@@coyotecarguy2076 Thanks for always replying Al. I thought your stock rear was either 3,15 or 3,31. my mistake!;-) As for the exhaust, I am with you on the noise. But aren't you a bit worried with melting a cat? also you are running much more backpressure with them,witch is never ideal.. I mentioned the "cat delete pipes" as they much more inexpensive then long tubes and much easier to install or swap back and worth with cats if that would be needed in regards to inspection. I have asked myself, what doesn't anyone offer like a H pipe, that is all build out of resonators. Don't you think that could work to lower the volume without really effect the exhaust flow?

Nathan McGuire. . .. I did a video last month showing the stock rear was not getting posi traction at the track . .. the clutches were worn out and the rear was Howling very loud so i had to either replace the rear or rebuild the traction lok and set a new ring and pinion. .. i elected to buy a PP1 rear with 800 miles on it .. . Now i have a stronger case and a torsen differential .. . running the same gear ratio so no tune adjustment needed ..

When you swap the rear diff like you did will you need an alignment afterwards? Had a guy swap a 3.55 diff into my originally 3.15 car and now the rear ended feels a little off. Kinda wobbles when going down the road. I don’t hear any weird noises though

Coyote carguy I didn’t know you had the pp1 option package with the 355 gears. I thought you had the premium package base with the 315s. It’s a simple tune adjust if it’s gear change. If you had the 355s your gonna be all good but If you had 315s and went to 355s your 60 foot should improve some.

The rear i found was from a automatic car with the correct pinion flange, has 800 miles on it and is a pp1 rear. torsen diff, cast iron case but it's a 3.55 .. not exactly what i wanted but i must say this rear is silent and that makes me happy. .
