Hi! Thank you very much. Yes exactly, the whirling technique stems from the Sufis from Turkey. While they perform whirling as part of a religious ceremony (Sema), my contemporary whirling performance is intended for the stage. Do you turn, too?

spin to the left or the right which is the natural way

It depends. Traditionally to the left, so the heart stays centered, and one whirls around it. This also helps if the person is right-footed (the stronger foot works against the centrifugal force). But I think whichever works for you is best!
