12 years after you made this video it is still saving washing machines to this day. I fixed my Kenmore 90 series, which wasn't spinning and left clothes soaking wet, following these instructions. I had to buy a spanner wrench set (TB123B) $18.82 and the drive block (389140 or WP389140) $11.53. I purchased these at Tribles Appliance Parts, and they had them in stock, so I didn't have to order them or wait for them to be shipped. The spanner wrench set is manufactured by Supco (Sealed Unit Parts Co. Inc) and the drive block is manufactured by Whirlpool Corporation Factory Certified Parts in case you need to order them directly. I first changed the coupler, which didn't fix the problem, then I changed the brake clutch liner which also didn't fix the problem. The 3rd time was the charm when I changed this drive block using the spanner wrench. The old drive block was in bad shape unlike the other parts that I unnecessarily changed. If your machine is not spinning, I would suggest trying this first as it is easier to replace this part (you don't have to take the whole machine apart). Below is another video of someone else doing the same repair, with other details about how to do the job. I found both videos helpful. Also, as of currently (2023) new washing machines are about $500-$800, so this definitely saves money. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rWWyZKFpp55keJY

Thank you. I bought a drive block in addition to the clutch to fix my machine. Your clutch video is great with the alignment of the brake and clutch.

Appliance Man… your videos are great. I’m still having trouble with my machine, since I first found you in August of 22.

Should the inner tub spin free without the transmission in? Do you grease the drive block? The problem Im having is the motor smells like its burning when its in the spin cycle? Like the motor is working to hard. Would you have a guess? Drive block looks great so do the tabs on the driveblock tub. Happy I found you again. Your videos are uncomplicated and very to the point helpful. Thank You

I just replaced the drive block on the same machine. The inside of the old drive block was striped (I had disassembled the machine a few months ago and it was fine then). After two loads the inside of the new drive block is starting to strip (the two grooves that line up with the tabs on the top of the transmission shaft). Ever see this before? Any idea? Thanks for your guidance.

my washer has been having an agitation problem and there is not a plastic piece between the block and the agitator like there is in this video but i have an amana aka whirlpool. Could this be a problem or is this piece unnecessary for proper fuction?
