I like the 16 year old the most with the port influence. I was really surprised at how good a whiskey it was at 40%. I enjoy the rest of their line but the 'Black Bush' for value is hard to beat. Cheers Daniel, it's been a great advent calendar thus far.

The 16 is pretty good indeed. A little thin because of the 40 but the flavors are worth the price.

I love black bush, especially at the price, and the 10 to me while not exciting, is just a darn good easy sipping and enjoyable dram. I have not tried their older expressions yet, but I want to find an occasion to pick up the 16.

I never tried bushmills. I guess it's worth trying it. Thanks 👍

Based on your description, I was going to go with one of Teeling's many offerings.

I am glad we got some Irish in here. I jumped to conclusions at the first sniff of Irish. This was a tasty one. I got apple on the palate more than chocolate. So enjoying this!

I first got into whiskies on a trip to Ireland. In my travels, I have always sought to enjoy whatever food and drink my destination is known for, so I sampled a variety of relatively low-cost whiskies on the trip. The one I enjoyed the most was Bushmills original NAS, and that became my go-to whisky (excuse me, "whiskey") for quite some time. I eventually started branching out and exploring other kinds of whiskies (including on a trip to Scotland). I don't remember the last time I've had a Bushmills now, but I'm pretty sure that I only ever tried the original and Black Bush. In fact, I really haven't delved much into the higher-end Irish offerings. I really need to correct that.

As soon as Daniel said short bread, I knew it was an Irish. No matter how he backpedaled…it was definitely Irish. To my mind

I get tons of tropical fruit, specifically passion fruit in the 21yr.

Just the fact your ‘banner’ addresses an issue as per the spelling of whisky! As per historical ❤

I believe it spent 19 years in oloroso sherry and finished for 2 in madiera. Also it's only 80 proof.

When blending, does it matter what you pour into what? Like if you have 3 whiskeys (A, B, C) does it matter if you mix A and B before adding C? (or does it change if doing A and C then B?)

This one was not for me. Way too sweet with no spice or peat balancing it. It's Oloroso and bourbon then 3 years in Madeira casks.
