I appreciate it greatly when whisky reviewers share what they personally prefer and collect. It gives us a way to know what your standards are and how to compare them to our own taste. I like rum so I enjoy Edradour finished in rum casks. But that's me. Thanks sharing your bar, even if it is just video👍Danke

10L of pure alcohol per year. If I've done the math correctly, that's roughly 475ml of whisky or 19 units of alco per week. It's higher than recommended intake which is 14 units per week
@jessefagen72826 жыл бұрын
1L = 1000ml. So 10L = 10,000 ml 10,000 / 52 = 192ml per week Hardly frat boy territory
@jessefagen72826 жыл бұрын
I just now realize you converted for 40% alcohoL. Drinking Scotch whilst doing math clearly makes a poor combination

1:00 So is that why the Islay whiskys sell younger varieties than Glenfiddich etc? Because the 8-year varieties are for peat heads?

If the younger whiskies oxidise faster than the older ones, so does that mean that the small amount of young whisky in the Macallan Ruby does oxidise faster than the older part and will change the complexity of the whisky? So it would mean that after the oxidisation of the younger whisky it could make the Ruby even better or with bad luck worse?
@PikachuReesesPieces7 жыл бұрын
in my opinion it makes it a lot better

2,5 liter a year?? Are you kidding with us? That's almost nothing at all. I drink about 1 liter every month, and I don't drink much at all, and I never get drunk. With 2,5 liter per year including other spirits, you hardly take one single dram a week :-/
@lorionalbenhaupt70457 жыл бұрын
2,5 liter "pure alcohol". A dram of 2cl does not have 2cl pure alcohol.

Did anyone else hear that he doesn’t really drink much outside of his reviews? I really like his reviews, but I think to have more credibility you should be drinking more. I’ve also seen where he doesn’t finish some of his pours and mixes them into a bottle. Idk just weird.
@lll-k4l2k4 жыл бұрын
Well He told in other video's that he does drink whisky at the evening off camera. But if he adds both those moments of drinking alcohol every week together with all tastings he does on camera. Like he explained, he will be consuming a high amount of alcohol in a year. And If u keep doing this for 35 years like him, I understand U want to slow down for health reasons
@lll-k4l2k4 жыл бұрын
Ow and the Whisky pouring into a bottle is pretty common with whisky reviewers as they actually make this "Blend" out of all whiskies they try and from time to time they taste this blend they made.
@kripalkotwani62244 жыл бұрын
Pouring unfinished pours in one bottle is actually not weird, but to save the whiskies from deterioration due to oxidation, it's a common practice.

So what do your friends and family ask for in your bar??? And bourbon really doesn't have the best reputation? Personally I've always felt bourbon had one of the better reputations.. Even the high dollar Scotch colors and chill filters its whiskey and Bourbon doesn't no??
@reptilianskin7 жыл бұрын
Quacklebush I have tried many great bourbons. I think he is referring to the personal preference of his family and friends. Some just prefer scotch to all other whisky. For me it's a mood thing. Sometimes I prefer the stronger Oak influence of bourbon and typically higher ABV, plus here in Ontario it's more affordable than most scotch. So the value for money opened the door to bourbon discovery for me. In Europe it's perhaps harder to get American bourbon. So scotch and Irish whiskey is what they are accustomed to and their natural preference
