Another one for the list. Hearing good things from this distillery and your review confirms this. Cheers Mark.

Great review Mark. If you have a chance to test the R-02 bottling let me know what you think. Can you provide the details of your mic setup including boom and any monitor/headset/earphones that you use for meetings. Cheers friend.

I’ll keep my eye out for it! Current set up: Camera: iPhone12 pro Max(recorded) Logitech Brio(Live) Audio: Blue Microphones Yeti X Accessories: Blue Mic “Compass” Boom Arm, Blue Mic “Radius III” shock mount I use iPhone buds for meetings to keep my end quiet. I’ll have to get something better soon. And hopefully a new MacBook as my HP is way too noisy. Cheers🥃🥃🥃🥃

Thank you for reviewing this very mentionable new distilleries product. They are making some very promising new spirits and I have been able to try them recently while visiting. The spirit seems to have captured the true rural beauty of the island itself. I must say that the rye notes are so on point for me, and they make this nicely peated whisky more engaging. For a young whisky there is so much to look for in future releases!! Cheers and great review!! The set up seems to be spot too Mark!! 🥃🥃🥃🥃

Thanks Graeme! Your tour must have been a blast. BTW Alasdair Day confirmed my thoughts of this having a very narrow heart cut and also beefing up the cut for longer aged peated distillate. Looking forward to more!! Cheers brother🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃

Awesome to hear all the flavors you can pull, and I too love Rye spice. The peat also sounded great. Cool setup. I am struggling with mic setup lately as my new phone does not have a mic jack and instantly all my lapel mics don't work 😑 . Great score for a young whisky. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Jon!! Superb stuff. iPhone? They make a converter doohickey - just make sure it’s meant for mic usage and not just for sound! Cheers brother🥃🥃🥃🥃

@@WhiskyWhistle I see this whisky here, but $100 is always a lot to ask for under 4 years. I have a samsung and I have bought three adapter. None work well. However the USB adapter does enable my big mic. Similar to your Yeti. Just not sure I want the mic there . We'll see. Sad that the old lapel doesn't work. I enjoy your new setup BTW. I seem to be a few years away from an actual bar and nice shelves :(

I can’t even buy wood to make shelves so I guess it’s gonna be an IKEA kind of space..😭

I'm enjoying their single cask Rye Cask 52% abv Distillery bottling. Very interesting malt with all the dry hot spices of a Rye but with some sweet maltiness coming through.

Reb!! They are such assertive casks and I am glad they are making great use of them! That single cask must be ballsy. Cheers brother🥃🥃🥃🥃

@@WhiskyWhistle Yes. You have to understand that I bought these two bottles of Rye Single Cask at the distillery after spending hours in the warehouse, sampling some fantastic sweet and fruity casks. Ex-Bourbon, Virgin oak, Peated/un-Peated and some incredible Columbian Oak cask. When I first opened this Single Cask Rye, it was a bit of a shock as it was nothing like I'd sampled at the distillery. It was dry, hot spirit and hot spices, not hot as in Chilli but hot as in white pepper corns. I left it for two weeks and came back to it last Shabbos. So much better. Really calms down with some of that sweet matiness beginning to come through. Nevertheless, in my opinion, I don't think it's a good idea to bottle a 100% Ex-Rye Cask. It's just too harsh, hot and dry. I don't regret buying them though. Now I know what a 100% Rye Cask tastes like. It thoroughly deserved to win the People's choice for best new distillery.

Hi Mark - Thank you - I drink whisky for flavour, not for quantity, and I am in extremely good shape except for some covid weight that I am taking care of. All the best! 🥃🥃🥃🥃
