Whispering Wall, Barossa Reservoir

The Whispering Wall is about an hours drive north of Adelaide, South Australia, just south of the Barossa Valley. It's a nice place to go to for a day trip, or a picnic.
It was built more than 100 years ago and was at one point the tallest dam in Australia, being around 9 stories high. Originally built as a back-up water supply, it has now become a tourist destination in itself.
When someone whispers or talks quietly at one end, you can hear it at the other end, almost 140 metres away. This is due to the parabola effect. The sound being carried due to the curved shape of the wall.
