Imagine being part of the banished thinking you crushed all the UNSC and their precious Spartans only to find out the OG Demon is back from the dead and on a fucking rampage killing everything in his path.

That is so cool. I’d Halo was rated M, I’d imagine there would be half skeletons and armor husks sticking out of places

now picture all the bodies scattered thru out europe from ww1 and 2 that have been buried

I don’t know if it had been established in the canon before, but I found the detail that the ring was absorbing bodies interesting. It not only explains the lack of bodies all over the ring, but also explains in a canon way why the bodies eventually deload. They didn’t need a I explain it in lore and could’ve chalked it up to gameplay, but I like that they did.

I imagine it’s absorption of biomass was an inherent defense against the flood, never letting it grow and repurposing its biomass over time. Or it’s just a green energy gesture “hey don’t worry about trash on the ring it’ll just absorb it”

Wym canon? Theres only one canon and these count

that was a nice decision, I agree!

This story absolutely rocks, any content from the perspective of Chief's enemy is so cool. He's seen more as an abstract force of power than a soldier, any battlefield he was a part of is equated to a natural disaster in both casualties and destruction.

The Halo series could have used this and it would have lived. Love the lore and hope to get a second part where we see who's in the warthog. Probably Chief but could be a marine or ODST. Maby that marine that seems to survive everything or a whole new character.

How would that even work, 90% of this is walking. And there are Audio logs that have similar words

Name dropped the palaces of pain! How about that! Finally a mention and it pains to see it come from an audio log on YT and not from the game.

One of two shots from the Quasar Cannon are more than capable of destroying any covenant ground vehicle besides the scarab That one would require a squad of jetpacks and shield packs

There was a lot of lore in the game, the waypoint chronicles are merely extra, added lore.

My brother in the great journey, like 80% of the lore has always come from outside the games.

So pyre felt regret for playing a part? I don't know why but I just didn't even consider the idea that a forerunner monitor might have a conscience or experience remorse. Probably thanks to Sparky and how strict he is when it comes to following protocol. Even Exuberant seemed to only care about regaining control of her installation (while actually being such a delight to Osiris, she even gave them a tank). I might be being dumb here but now I'm wondering, is Cortana more advanced than Forerunner AIs? I would assume not because Sparky is actually the digitalised consciousness of an ancient human (or something like that, sci-fi technobabble and whatnot) and as a monitor, probably doesn't compare to the likes of Mendicant Bias
@limpychick47244 күн бұрын
I suppose you could also see it as the result of the monitors behaving with free will - displaying varying personality traits in the same way a physical person would. Spark being a zealot committed to his role wouldn't then conflict with Pyre showing regret for her actions.
@Tom-oz7wk4 күн бұрын
@limpychick4724 I think that's the piece I was missing. I never stopped to think if the forerunners had granted their monitors any level of free will because the monitors always seemed focused on a single task like any sentinel. Sparky adhering to protocol of his own volition makes a ton of sense

No. There's no action, it's basically just walking. And there are audio logs similar to what Despondent Pyre says
