What we need in Politics is a Max Age for Supreme Court Justices, say 65 Years old. Lifetime appointments were seen as a way of removing the politics from the Courts decisions and it worked for a while, until the number of Justices increased typically but now with outside groups directly influencing the court outside of the courtroom, this is a level ethical malpractice that would get any other judge disbarred, sanctioned, or impeached under regular order. Communication with a Justice or Judge of the Court should be reported to Clerk of the Court to be placed in the record. Supreme Court Justices have relied on an Honor system for reporting and dealing with ethical breaches and legal issues in the past but as we have seen the Honor system has been used and abused, and it is time for the other co-equal branches of Government to step in and rein in the Supreme Court Justices Conduct. The Court should be expanded to equal 1 Justice per Federal Circuit and if the Federal Circuit expands then it should automatically add an equal number of Justices to the Supreme court. i.e. we have 13 Federal Circuit Districts, so we should have 13 Supreme Court Justices, if the Federal Circuit expands to 15 then we have now 15 Supreme Court Justices.

For those of us outside the US, it is very hard to understand this happy scenario where Supreme Court judges are overtly political; " He's a Trump appointee " "She's an Obama appointee " .... etc, and with it the tacit acceptance that when the Government & Judiciary finds itself involved in a court case, the Judge will have a pre-existing, known political 'bias' to their decisions. We have seen recently that some Judges have stood up for their post, & their integrity, and decided against the 'pre-ordained' orthodoxy. It's undoubtedly true that the majority of our judges derive from what we might call a 'middle class' or 'upper middle class' background, and from that, we might assume that their political leanings are more likely to be towards the Conservative, rather than Labour or Liberal Democrats. But, we would never hear of them described as 'Pro Tory' or Pro Labour', & anticipate that it would sway their conduct. I can remember back to the late 70s/ early 80s, & an interview with Frank Zappa, that 'dreadful' 'weird' 'un-American' etc, where he was warning about TV evangelists, begging on TV for money & donations, which was tax exempt as charity, & how it was being used to fund political campaigns, to buy & garner influence & power. Of course, he was laughed at. And here you are, just 40-50 yrs later
