Cold and damp. But. If you go into areas where the water comes from the mountain streams, you've never tasted anything like it. Summers are really nice.

I'm guessing this video is about 20 years old, going by the buses and the fact the parliament is still under construction. EDIT: just noticed it says 2009 at the end, but I'm convinced the footage is older.

Unfortunately this video is poorly scripted and edited. Edinburgh city centre consists of the Old Town, some of which is highlighted here, albeit poorly depicted, and the New Town, which is completely absent! Unbelievable, though also a common fault with vloggers and visitors. When the grandeur of the New Town is mentioned (6:24), the video shows the least scenic part of Dean Village, a charming anomaly (and must-see) tucked away within the New Town, though not at all representative of its fantastic Geogorian splendour. (That same footage is repeated when Dean Village is mentioned later on.) The sad reality is that so many - virtually all, really - videos about Edinburgh are produced by people who know little or nothing about the city. At least this narrator is Scottish. As someone who would like to film his own Edinburgh film, though I appreciate the opportunity to see it, I'm glad I never did purchase the 'Whistletop Edinburgh' DVD, as this film could have contained SO much more and have been ten times more effective.
