one of the main things i'd say counts for the durability of a vehicle is it's repairability Sure, the Hylux's door stopped working after 5 slams, but you take a few screws off, give 20 minues of your time to fix the handle, screw the cover back on and bam! works like it's brand god damn new ...the cybertruck's door desintegrated on the first slam, that's not something you can repair with a flashlight, 20 minutes and a beer or two Even Top Gear's tests examplified not more so the durability of the hylux, but the REAPIRABILITY of one, it was completely dead several times, but a SINGLE mechanic with some rusty tools managed to get it back up and running after a bit of work

And it lasted. Really think about even in 20yrs do you think you'd ever drive it that hard. Maybe once if it was a regular truck no bogging or off roading that truck would last almost a lifetime. My dad bought a Tacoma brand new in 99 I believe drove it till 2017 and now my kid brother drives it. It's got over 400k original motor miles on it and it's still going strong. Toyota offered my dad a brand new 2017 Tacoma for the truck he said no my youngest son wants it. He still ended up getting another Tacoma though

Here in Argentina Police used those as the standard cop car(Same diesel engine n shit), they were pretty much indestructible. The only bad thing about it is comfort, after a long trip you will need a new pair of kidneys. Even my 68 Fiat 600 is more comfortable than this pickup lol
