Dang that old girl is CLEAN!! She’s lived a good life. Only complaint you will ever hear from anybody about the 135’s was that the 478 was a shade on the thirsty side. It got better with engine updates throughout the production though.

One guy said the big bad Hercules just got. Meaner the more you pulled it down, the torque rise was unbelievable

Also compared to a 105 it’s more expensive to maintain, my dad won’t but 135 or 155 because a rebuild kit is around 4000 for one of those where a 105 is around 1000

Awesome to see this 2-135 at work. Lots of these in this area back in the day. Local farm I grew up around had one w/ front wheel assist and rice and canes all the way around. Love hearing the engine hum.

Man that takes me back to my childhood we had one white on the farm surrounded by John Deeres and that white was my favorite for discing and planting corn. It would hold a straighter row when planting corn. Its a great tractor

Leased 2-135s in1978 and 79. In 80 we leased a FWA model, the first year available, liked it and in fall, bought out the lease for $40K. White had some engine problems, at about 800 hrs. White replaced rings and sleeves. It had 11K on it when we we had it overhauled/rebuild. Still have it. With the help of the museum in Charles City, it was the 3rd 4th or 5th one to come off the line in Feb.

We had a IH 986 and traded it in and bought a 2-135 but it came with the front end assist. It was an absolute beast in the field big difference in wet field conditions compared to the 2wd 986.

Excellent video of a really nice rig. I never knew much about White tractors but they always seemed cool. This one is great, and of course there's no better way to show her off than chopping haylage! No I'm not biased. Why do you ask? ;)

The one we had was good but when the turbo went bad was the last thing they check before going back to gather and found out that was the the problem when it was using oil on us check when they were putting it back together and he had bad seals it was leaking oil and the turbo it didn't need to be overhauled but yes it is a very good tractor

In the US was Deutz much common who marketed them?
@jrice10914 жыл бұрын
I remember in the 80s and some of the 90s duetz- Allis had some machines in the area. But most of the ones I remember were in the 40- 80hp range. And most of the time they were hooked to manure spreaders. I liked the lime green paint job they had and the Fwa models had an aggressive look to them for that time period. Our area of the US. was John Deere followed by Ford and New holland before they merged. There were quite a few Massey Ferguson and whites. In the early 70s Oliver's would have been a close second or third but they faded out quickly and then White's came around but never really had the same popularity. Even then there were a lot of Minneapolis molines but again they faded away also. There must have been a Leyland dealer in our area at some point because I do remember some Leyland's in our area for a time. most the ones I do remember seeing were smaller chore tractors with loaders on them. We have a restored Minneapolis Moline that needs a fresh battery this spring and hope to see it get a little exercise come summertime it'll be cool just to see it for nostalgic purposes.

Deutz marketed their machines themselves. I wouldn’t say they were common but they were definitely out there and well liked
