13:18 From your description: It is your responsibility to know and understand safe canning processes and procedures. I understand my responsibility, but why is the time different ? Is it 1/2 liquid vs 1/2 solids ? BTW, I think you are Extremely thorough with your instructions and safety guidelines.

My All American Canner weighted gauge doesn’t jiggle unless you tap it. I’m afraid to process anything because it doesn’t jiggle like I’ve seen in videos. Thoughts?
@carol-thriftychichousewife62312 жыл бұрын
Make sure you’re processing at the correct psi for your altitude. Also your gauge could be off so have it checked or replaced. The AA canner is a weighted gauge canner so you should always go by the rocking or jiggling of the weight not the gauge.

Since this recipe includes corn, shouldn't quarts be pressure canned for 85 minutes? See "So Easy to Preserve" p. 87-88.
@carol-thriftychichousewife6231 Жыл бұрын
I’m curious, did you actually watch the video? I explain the procedure and why the processing time is only 60/75 minutes. This method is by the USDA and is safe for for including not only corn but beans and meat that require longer processing time on their own. So no, quarts are not processed for 85… see this link if you haven’t watched nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_04/soups.html
