The demand grows out of narcissism, as does the anger associated with it when people don’t (for whatever reason). It’s about being “special” and “unique,” and getting people to center their existence upon them and their demands. The insane rage and vindictiveness that also grows out of noncompliance with the demands is also narcissistic. I’m gay. I know plenty of gay men, lesbians, bi people and trans women/men who know that not everyone will accept us - and the healthy ones are okay with that. I don’t need acceptance and validation from strangers to live my own life as I please. We have equal rights under the law now, so if the guy a block away hates me, who cares? I certainly am not walking around demanding that he acknowledge and validate everything about me or face destruction. That’s giving him too much power over me, and everyone who is mentally healthy understands this. Only narcissists impose this expectation on others, and it is a way of gaining narcissistic supply.

Ideology in the political sphere serves the same purpose that delusion does in the private. Actually, it serves both. It not only provides a personal narrative for the ideologue-a story which gives their life meaning and importance. It also FORCES others to participate in their story, thus reinforcing the ideologue’s private motivations, which are generally about control and power. "It's not ENOUGH that I believe what I believe or think what I think - YOU HAVE TO THINK IT TOO!" Total narcissism and it's how all totalitarian societies keep power - everyone has to go along with the lie.

I was at a work conference recently. While signing in, one of the several people assisting others offered me a pronoun pin. I politely declined. She asked "Well how is anyone going to know them?" I looked at her and said, "I have long auburn hair, a D cup chest and am a woman. Wouldn't you agree?" Her answer was yes. After I started walking away, I could see the person working with her go look my name up. I walked back over and let the other one know my name, team, and manager, just so it will be easier for you to tattle. She stuttered, and I walked away. Never heard anything else about it. Today our german parliament voted for the "Selbstbestimmungsgesetz", a law that allows everyone to change their prename and gender (man, woman, diverse or none) on all government documents, including ID and birth certificate. A reference of medical or psychological documents is not required. Kids under the age of 14 can change their name and gender together with their parents. Kids over the age of 14 will be even able to act alone on this law. If the parents don't give their permission per signature, the case will be taken to the family court. There will probably be a restriction included; you will be fined if you use someone's "deadname" or wrong pronoun. This is my opinion: This law offers no actual support for actual gender dysphoric people since their is no medical supervision encluded. Instead it offers pervese and autgenophyle men to harras women and will lead to confusion and indoctrination of kids. My question is: I know there are countries that have passed similar legislations, what experiences have you personally and your government made with these laws?

Nobody owns their own pronouns anyway. The essential function of pronouns is to make speech EASIER. To be able to refer to someone or something without having to repeat the name of the person or object over and over again. Ironically, gender ideology has reversed the function of pronouns, because their use of pronouns makes language more DIFFICULT. For anyone to say that they have their own word or set of words as their pronouns is the height of narcissism.

Same here! I feel compassion for both "sides" (trans women and women), but legally we are now getting into zero sum and as usual, it's women who are expected to move over for former men. And being a child of the Enlightenment now living in a post-truth world, my brain is frying when a person stands in front of us all with a p3nis in their swimming costume and we are all to fundamentally believe that person is a woman in the same way that a woman born without a p3nis is. I don't hate the 'woman' with a p3nis (trans woman). But my brain just can't pretend that they are the same as women. I'll call these persons women, I'll treat them as women, but my brain fundamentally does not regard them as "real" women. And I know, I know ... social construct, intersex, no uterus are you still a women etc etc. But my brain is hard wired! We are almost a quarter into the 21st century and each year that goes by I feel more and more that I am a creature of the 20th century. I want to be kind. I want to have compassion. Every day I work to act that way eventhough, more and more, society is getting more divided, more militant, more unkind. But I am lodged in a relationship with facts that seem to matter less and less in the post truth world. It's not my century. Good luck with it kids. I truly wish you well. Im not being sarcastic when I say that. Please try to be kind. Eventhough I remember to be young is to be more "black and white" and angry, and militant. I was an angry young feminist once. Now I'm just an old, tired feminist lol!

Exactly, and I spent some time going down the rabbit hole of the"epidemic" of violence against Transgender and gender non-comforming people. What they DON'T really HIGHLIGHT is almost HALF is a result of DV from a romantic partner. Then there's the people who tragically died while engaging in a dangerous lifestyle of drug dealing and violent crimes against strangers!!. Meaning being TRANS had ZERO to do with how the person lost their life. The HRC goes on to say it's a national tragedy and a national embarrassment. What's really embarrassing is honoring a transgender person who opened fire on police THEN try and blame transphobia hate as the mechanism!!!

NEVER trust anyone who calls themselves an "ally", for ANY minority/cause. Anyone can have an opinion, on ANY topic, or support/oppose ANY cause/group you want... But you don't get to borrow the "victim" status of groups you're not part of, and you DEFINITELY don't get to use that status to put YOUR voice above everyone else's. When someone declares themself "an ally" what they're REALLY saying is "I've decided that MY opinions are way more important and valid than everyone ELSE'S opinions..." The only people who WANT to speak on behalf of minority groups they're not part of, are petty-authoritarians, desperate for ANY tiny crumb of power, that they can gift to themself.

Years ago, I knew someone who was a M2F transgendered individual. During their transition, I really struggled because this person would call the office and I would hear Joe's voice rather than Joan's (not the actual names) and I would leave a message saying "Joe called back about the..." People would jump all over me trying to correct my mistakes, but no one realized that I hadn't actually seen this individual in a really long time, so had no frame of reference for the transition. What ended up happening was I avoided Joan when she came back to work after the surgeries simply so I wouldn't make a mistake until one day we crossed paths at a restaurant. Joan wanted to know why I was mad at her. I explained I was just trying to be super careful and it turned out that everyone else was more upset about my mistakes than Joan was. Everyone made such a fuss that it actually caused the problem rather than corrected it.

I knew someone who was uncomfortable being presented as a woman, but also did not want to be a man. They identified as nonbinary. Now I know that they blamed their sex for some trauma they had and I support them in any way I can. It is them and their story that made me try to be open to some of the reasoning behind non-binary individuals. They never got mad when people called referred to them as a woman, never told everyone they didn’t know their pronouns either and didn’t care when people they did tell got it wrong, so yeah. I know there are some people who identify as non-binary who are just doing it to feel special, but being non-binary for my friend probably felt like a shield to protect them from bad men.
